True...........that is what bothers me about the Bristol Post survey........"Nigel Pearson given Major Backing" is a manipulation of the facts, and is NOT true, based on a survey of 400 readers?  It might well be true that he has major backing, but 338 out of 400 people who happen to read the Post is not an accurate sample IMHO?

I suggest you look away when they show shampoo and make-up adverts on TV. You're in for a rude awakening!

It’s the modern world mate - the younger generations wake up every day now and their first thoughts are “Right, what I can be offended by today?” - “Who can I implore others to ‘cancel’ today?” - “Who can I encourage others to ‘pile on’ people on social media because their views and opinions are different from mine?” - “Whose career can I attempt to ruin because they stand for different stuff than my views?”

... and they go through the day full of angst, pent up anger and misery because the world doesn’t necessary agree with everything they think and say - they can’t handle it, even though they’ve populated our planet for less than 20 years, yet in their eyes everyone who has been through loads of real life stuff and who have proper perspective on the real issues, should be cancelled because their views don’t necessarily reflect the stances that the loud leftists have been taught to believe at universities etc ...

I fear for this country over the next few decades - the generations coming through are weak and indoctrinated... and if they had their way, we would have had to go though Brexit, a global pandemic and the Ukraine / Russia crisis with Corbyn, Abbott, Thornberry, McDonnell etc at the helm - and true to form, Corbyn has already blamed the UK and the US for the horrendous situation in Ukraine ... I need a Malbec ??

    Ha.

To refer to Brexit, the global pandemic, and the current atrocity of the Russo-Ukranian war, whilst simultaneously condemning a generation that has, and will, probably suffer the most from these three signficant life events exhibits incredible mental gymnastics.

Funny they never report the unemployed ex-steelworker who's hit rock bottom and professes to want to 'clean up his act '.

First world problem of a first world idiot. Others are far more deserving of our sympathy.

If you think mental health issues and alcoholism are 'first world problems' I suggest you travel around the world a little more

It's an alert to a supposed and misconceived 'injustice' (sic). An 'injustice' (sic) that never was. Much as all the other virtue-signalling demonstrations have everything to do with those demonstrating about little about that for which they are demonstrating.

The word has lost none of its meaning as it's never implied merit (or otherwise) as to the validity of any 'injustice' being highlighted.

    Huh?

  5. I'm not anti-Nige, but the aversion to loan signings does seem a little problematic to me (that is if he really is the one against them, I think we're basing this on one or two interview comments).

Forest, and others before them, have brought in some very handy loan signings this year, just look at Djed Spence and Zinckernagal to name just two. I know we may be more tightly restricted on wages and who we can get, but squad depth has been an issue for us this season, so why not bring at least one or two in? The Jan window showed there were enough young prem players available on loan, but we (as far as we know) did not move for any.

  6. Always find it interesting to watch the AFCON and note the many players (especially for the smaller nations) that play domestic football in Africa. I think it's very rare (if ever) these players come directly to England, but many who catch the eye will move over to Belgian, Swiss, Turkish clubs initially, and then, if they do well, move into the bigger leagues.

I wonder what young players we fleetingly see turn out for the likes of Mali, Burkina Faso et al. will end up being stellar pros in Europes big leagues in the next 5 years? It's kind of fun to make a prediction on who might make that leap

  7. I want to caveat this with the fact I'm a Massengo fan, but it's funny what a lot of running around does for fan perception of player performance. Bakinson, I believe, has been far more useful than HNM in recent games, but has got all of the stick. HNM has been positionally poor and pretty wasteful for a few games now. Not unexpected for a young man, especially in a team that hasn't been paying well, but still interesting that he has has near to zero criticism, whilst Bakinson gets pelters on here.

Running a lot does not equal good. I often fall into that trap, but it really isn't the case
