  1. Pukki and Sargeant spinning in behind going to cause us problems but holding firm on set pieces and we look pretty sharp on the counter. They do look good playing through the lines in midfield and could get back into it if we make a mistake. Big 45 minutes now, COYR.
  2. Yes! could see signs of it towards the end of last season and we've taken another step this year. We've been much more competitive this year and can only think of 3ish games where we haven't been at the races. Love having pace in our team, catching teams napping at the back with quick breaks. And these players don't half run themselves into the ground each week. Give this team and the staff more patience and this team could flourish but not getting ahead of myself. The Championship is a division that takes no prisoners, it can be joyous one week and devastating the next. Could take us another season or two till we hit our peak with the trajectory we seem to be on and if we recruit properly to replace any outgoings and promote well from within like we have been doing then the future is bright. Take it game by game and it really feels like we could beat any team in the division. Now our club looks like it has a real identity and 'DNA' (a phrase we've heard coined countless times by some not-so favourable people) Our progress has not happened overnight and our future possibilities are not going to happen overnight. Let's give Norwich a good game this weekend and get behind our boys, COYR.
  3. insert Pep Guardiola we cannot replace him video here - Alex Scott been brilliant - not even shocked anymore. They got right on top of us but we held firm and caught them cold at the back. Hope Naismith is alright. If we hold firm early in the second half we can really get at them on the break with fresh legs in Weimann, Cornick and Mehmeti. Stay strong City, COYR.
  4. They're struggling at home and will want a reaction, going to be a tough game as it always is up there. Would be pleased with a point to keep the unbeaten run going. I reckon Bell can get in behind Browne and Storey down their right side, and we've got an extra man in midfield so Scott will get a lot of the ball today, hopefully we can make it count when we turn it over and break on them. COYR.
  5. With the Klose signing and Bamba training with us for a short while, I wouldn't be surprised if we picked up an experienced CB as cover on a free if one became available and was needed.
  6. Did well for us but it's time for change. Wish them the best.
  7. Matty Taylor was a poacher, Cornick is a right winger who can play across the front line. Not sure where this comparison has come from.
  8. Cornick more naturally on the right wing but versatile to play across the front line, maybe more-so competition for Sykes on the right side? Mehmeti more of a left winger. Interesting if both are confirmed tomorrow, no lack of depth in the three forward positions. Bell, Weimann, Cornick, Mehmeti and Sykes with the versatility to play off of Wells or Conway.
  9. Was bloody good in the cup game against us early this season, set up the goal I seem to remember. Tricky wide player and got plenty of potential. Him and Cornick really give us a good amount of depth up the top of the pitch.
  10. We are where we are... we are where we are... thank Nigel Pearson we are where we are... I'll get my coat.
  11. I don't know about you guys but I'm seeing no progression under Pearson, get 'im out ? I'm joking of course, it's almost like we needed a bit of patience, a real lack of that in football and society nowadays. Good first half, they're going to create some chances with the high press, a few loose touches have left the door open for them but once we've broken the press we've shown a real threat to go and punish them. These crop of young players coming through breathing life into our club again, they don't come in and coast - they really get stuck in and fight for every yard and every ball. Keep it up, COYR.
  12. We beat their press and we're going to create chances. Well done Sykes and Scott, great goal again.
  13. Not too fussed on the result today, as long as we don't pick up any injuries and stay competitive I'll be pleased. Best of luck to Bell who makes his first start! He's been patient and looked good off the bench, it's his opportunity now. Couple of academy cameos and maybe a little bit of time for Kalas would be nice too.
  14. Hope we don't get caught on the break if we throw too many forward. Got to be careful trying to get chances now
  15. They're very efficient when they get the ball back, got to give them credit for that. Can see why they win and lose a lot, if they don't take their chances then they struggle but unfortunately we've given them an easy one there. Our balls in transition have been very poor today, Pring, Scott, Wells and Semenyo all had chances to get us going this half but nothing doing.
  16. That's how you cut the ball back, what we were missing in the first half and they take their second chance of the game. Still got plenty of time to get back in it.
  17. They're looking to break our press when it comes and diagonal switch to Hedges or Brereton Diaz and get in from there, probably the best way to play against us in a quick transition. Think we're playing okay, final ball has to improve definitely - seen a lot of balls being played behind runners or not coming in at all. They're not good or bad defensively but there are spaces for us to exploit and the two defenders on bookings especially Ayala need to be isolated and ran at. COYR.
  18. Definitely going to need a replacement who can play up top or either side. I hope Nige, Tinns and the recruitment team have done their work early to try get a replacement in who we can help progress, it might be too early for Bell to play consistently, if and when Martin goes we will need a striker with power and pace but there's far too few of them nowadays. There's been a real lack of good forwards coming through in the last couple years in the Football League hence why they are going for a premium. It's even happening at the top of the football pyramid, you can see that with the older strikers being much more prominent and not many young forwards breaking through. If Conway and Weimann weren't injured I think we'd be more likely to get the deal done quicker but now we can play hardball a bit more with the circumstances. Wouldn't blame him for making the move if we accept, big chance in the Premier League with a possibility of staying up, a massive increase in his wages and increasing his own stock in the process, hope we get the money we want for him.
  19. We need to play every academy product at RWB to blood them in and then put them in their natural position, worked for Scott, Semenyo and now Bell - I jest! Well done City, blast the wurzels loud! Congrats Sam, bet your dad is beaming ear to ear and rightly so.
  20. gets into good positions, just wish he would get his crosses in, always blocked first man.
  21. And that is why the 4 back can be a bit too open with how we want to play going forward, good finish from Khadra but he shouldn't have that much space in the first place
  22. Pring > Semenyo > Sykes - another great goal. Long been on toast this game, Semenyo breezed past him.
