  1. Their wingbacks, not ours. Read the first line. We're leaving gaps and they're sitting back waiting to pinch the ball and counter.
  2. Their wingbacks barely gotten over the half way line, they're waiting to get us on the break in the gaps we'll leave. Our first touch outside both boxes under pressure has been terrible, we have a chance to recycle and go again and its just so lazy and loose. The delivery and running off the ball to get into space has been lazy too. Amount of hopeful deep crosses that are just picked off is way too much. Everyone's playing okay, I just know there they can all step up a level and get at them. They might leave it too late. COYR.
  3. They're wary of us on the counter hence their passiveness but they've got the quality when a chance comes to take it.
  4. Conway reminds me of a young Billy Sharp, thinking of the way they play. Shame he starts as we all know how frequent he scores against us but less physicality than McBurnie so might suit our weakened defence tonight, COYR.
  5. Sykes and Semenyo haven't started the best today. Touches going astray far too often. Vyner doing a good job in the middle of the three, two either side of him doing fine - got to be switched on, a couple inside passes sneaking through, Tanner's quick distribution to Sykes getting us chances, refreshing to see that. Bit worried if they bring on Ntcham or Paterson as they might have a bit more quality when the ball gets popped into the middle at the edge of the box, which does seem to be their gameplan with an overload on the right. Everything going forward through Conway and nice to see him back with some sharp touches and hold up play. Good first half, COYR.
  6. Everything positive on the break going through Conway so far, he deserves that.
  7. He isn't wrong either, our lot aren't aggressive enough in those situations to defend man for man hence why we mark zonally.
  8. Look at the whole of the Championship, there isn't one consistent team amongst them. If anyone was remotely consistent they'd be breezing this division, anyone can beat anyone. We got picked apart by QPR, they got beat by Luton, we beat Luton with ten men for almost half an hour and deservedly so. Bipolar fanbase, bipolar Bristol City performances in a bipolar division. Plenty of ups and downs, wouldn't be football if it was all plain-sailing and easy.
  9. Solid midfield three really helping the three centre backs to settle down too, they don't seem exposed like usual. Still wary of the threat they have, one goes in and we'll drop ten yards.
  10. Hands up by his face and it looks like it hits the hand, its debatable but if it was against us I expect our fans would lose their minds.
  11. They're gunna come right at us from the start of the second half, still plenty to go. Two really nice goals after pinching the ball fairly high up. Hope we don't go into our shells too early and invite too much pressure as we all know we've got individual errors in us, need to keep the threat at the other end. COYR.
  12. Extra midfielder really helping us so far. Scott, Williams and James all working very hard and keeping us ticking over. They've got enough individual quality in Phillips, Diangana and Wallace to get a goal back so we got to be switched on.
  13. Getting in around Klose, Asante's gunna burn past him if he gets more chances.
  14. Having Weimann as that third forward is killing us with him not being on it, our midfield gets absolutely walked through week after week. I'd drop him and add another midfielder in there, someone like King, James or Kadji will give us that extra man. Nice to see Kalas back, Pring played well off the bench, deserves a chance ahead of JD. Fair play to Millwall, ground out the win they deserved. No fancy stuff, just work hard and fight for every ball. Goalkeeping situation is another issue that flares up every season now, not good. Need Naismith and James back ASAP.
  15. He also picked Bentley who conceded from three at Birmingham
  16. No manager can get these lot to win a first ball from a setpiece, it feels like we've only won one which lead to Max going on a wander and us conceding.
  17. Amount of loose and lazy passes does my absolute nut in
  18. No creativity without Naismith and no steadiness without James. Good start from Pring off the bench, giving it a good go.
  19. I know what NP means when he says he kept players on even though they should come off, not many performing well at all. Wingbacks and the three forwards really off it today. So many loose passes and lack of running off the ball, Millwall snuffing out anything we're half-assing and looking to break. Could be 0-0 but they've been dangerous from set-pieces so fair play to them.
  20. Our runs off the ball and the final ball in is so poor at the moment
  21. Took Atkinson a while to settle after his move and he's improved plenty this season after his illness, hope Wilson comes back in the same way.
  22. Love the way he can lean into a defender on a high ball and push them aside then get the ball down and drive at goal, only one in our squad who can do that consistently, much prefer him dropping into wide areas and getting 1v1, he did that more second half last night and looked back to his best. Conway needs to be the man in the middle and ready in between the posts and Weimann needs to finds the gaps those two leave, seems like Weimann is a yard off those spaces the last couple games and his influence has dwindled. That's the risk we take with Weimann being the third midfield man and the third forward player in one position, it leaves us open in the middle if he's not back helping defensively and if he's not in the right gaps to get the ball on the attack then it can fall apart pretty easily, but like we've seen at the start of the season when it all ticks it excels and we can rip teams apart.
