  1. Our play is going to leak goals sometimes and it is what it is. We are nowhere near the perfect package, but we are pretty damn good. Hats off to NP and the team, first away win and deservedly so.
  2. Small mention for Matty James, been winning his tackles and his positioning has been almost perfect this half. Him and Scott my standouts so far.
  3. Naismith hasn't got the legs for midfield, you can see he is pretty slow over the first couple yards, he seems quicker with the ball then without it. His best position recently before his move here was at the back playing out. The main times it has been dangerous is the switch of play to Atkinson or Vyner and it's been cut out, like the Blackpool equaliser or one to Atkinson in the Huddersfield game which I think Holmes pinched in. The amount of times the ball has gone to Vyner and Sykes is bombing on 1v1 with his man and same with JD too when they are open on their own. About time we saw some of our players taking risks to try and impose ourselves on teams, I'm too used to other teams doing it to us. NP wants us to play out like this to create different angles for forward play, sometimes the ball should go back to Bentley if we are winning but it is refreshing to see a team wanting to play throughout the whole game. We create even more opportunities than last year with his play, if it means we're more open then so be it. We can outscore any team in this division playing like this and I'm all for it. No defence in this league will want to play against our forward line and the options we have off the bench. He is a massive part as to why we are creating so much, the team and NP trusts him to bring it out and play and it lets our forward three and midfield play further up. We'll rip some teams apart and I haven't said a City team could do that in a long time. Three 2-0's in a row at home is brilliant, we may get caught out more away from home but at least we still carry a threat. A big threat.
  4. They've got a threat on the break, just waiting on one of our defenders to make an error and punish us. Going to need to take another chance or two to see them off. Considering they're conceding possession to us, think we've pinged the ball around well - always get nervous when we play out the back but that's our style and how we want to create so got to put up with it. Think our front three struggling to get the ball to stick and they've done fairly well to clean up and try counter. Do not let Alex Scott leave, he's absolutely everywhere. He sets the standard, proper talent.
  5. Play a simple ball back with no danger, for them to press and for Naismith to boot it up the pitch giving us a bit more space, in no way is it King's fault, he could have done better to get back to clear it off the line I would agree, but giving it to Naismith who was free is not his fault imo.
  6. I don't understand the anger for King, it was Naismith who played the pass to Vyner?
  7. Vyner made a mistake but Naismith shouldn't be passing it to him there, I know he did well for the third goal but I'm not excusing him for their equaliser. They're pressing us to get back into it and can see Vyner isn't in any space to receive the ball there, he's absolutely killed him needlessly playing out there. King and James did well to keep the ball and move it away from their press on our left side and Naismith can just hoof it clear, like when he plays out sometimes but it happened twice today where hes been caught out with silly passes. Fair play to Blackpool they're a good team who have their own way of playing but we should be coming back with 3 points there.
  8. Seen Atkinson limp off each game a little bit so Sol Bamba cover will give us that insurance with minimal risk. Would like another midfielder for cover as Williams injuries could flare up again, another experienced midfield player wouldn't harm on a free. Wouldn't want to heap pressure on Kadji or another U23 if they aren't ready. Considering we were linked with him I didn't even notice Rinamhota playing for them today until he came off. But if it is as it is now I think we can have a solid, progressive season and see where we land.
  9. The runs they make from deeper areas causing us some issues, having watched a few of their highlights it does seem to be their main way of getting in behind and putting balls across. Seen HNM switch off a few times with runners and he's on a yellow i'd be careful keeping him on for too long. Conway's enthusiasm is infectious, another great finish. Wells had a poor first half up until the cross for the goal, but their strike partnership just seems to be clicking at the moment. We can't risk going down to ten again, think Cardiff would actually be able to punish us unlike Luton.
  10. Never seen any progression from this team under NP... I jest. We ran them off the pitch and looks like no visible injuries, rest and recoup for Cardiff. Well done TC, got in between the posts, both him and Wells deserved their goals.
  11. Might need Martin on if we're going to defend deep, Wells on a yellow too and he can be a bit clumsy so might be right to change.
  12. Looks like they've gone 4-3-3, letting some midfielders go forward too. Muskwe gone forward, Clark and Freeman in the middle, Osho into the back 4? They might be going gung-ho and waiting for a ball to drop. Going to have to be careful here.
  13. They look a threat with the two big lads up top in Morris and Adebayo, just think we've been much more efficient in midfield. If they bring another midfielder on we might struggle a little and they'll get more of a foothold. One little bobble in the middle of the pitch and they could get a break on us but fortunately we've been snuffing out any chances for them to break, hope it lasts.
  14. So pleased for Conway, gets into great areas and ain't afraid to get at his man 1v1. Who needs Semenyo, eh? Eerily quiet on here tonight too.
  15. We're not LJ/MA's little project anymore. No false hopes of playoffs, we can't spunk money up the wall and get away with it. Scored in every league game so far. Giving young lads their first starts in professional football and getting them up to scratch under difficult circumstances. Remember reading that we've spent less than Luton since his appointment but there's no positives or progressions given the circumstances? I don't have any hefty expectations anymore, I just want to see us compete and work hard for the shirt. This team is at the bones but I still see them play till the end and keep going. Yes, they make mistakes but I can't say that they don't try.
  16. All our away games were like this under Johnson and Holden without the goals we are scoring each game and barely anyone would say a thing, we have a similar performance under Pearson with this team and it's the end of the world. Thought Sykes, Weimann, Atkinson, Conway and Williams were good value today. Hope Atkinson is okay after that injury. All went wobbly after he came off.
  17. I expect most teams do in this heat, and especially with our squad depth it is going to happen. If we had the squad depth of a Fulham last year or of a Burnley/Norwich this time around I'd say fine, but we've got an average/decent team that some are still learning this level. I'd rather have our only problems fading later in games instead of robbing results each week like we did under LJ/Holden with 3 shots a game. At least now we look dangerous and actually create chances and score some bloody lovely goals too! Only way they will improve is by playing more games together. Don't understand the whole rush, let's get behind this team as they gel together and hopefully grind out some results that we actually do deserve.
  18. It's the Championship, even the top teams don't dominate the whole game. Don't understand where this doom and gloom from having another team attack us comes from, really strange to me.
  19. They're gunna come at us in the second half a bit more, so hopefully can stay strong and be ready to nick a second and hopefully see it out, COYR.
  20. If he's the best person to take corners then he can take them. Seen nothing from anyone else who has taken them previously to get upset about it. Settling in Wilson is okay, hasn't played at this level yet and took a knock in training a little while back, Nige obviously wanted to be very attacking on both sides with Sykes there but since we're conceding goals there it might be time for Tanner or Wilson next. It is a long old season and we are creating chances, remember not too long ago we'd have next to no shots in games and we'd be over the moon with robbing teams.
  21. At least we are still looking a threat going forwards. The gaps we leave in midfield when we lose the ball is criminal, gaps are left by the wingbacks and then Williams and Massengo were stretched. The wingbacks and Scott don't get back quick enough to cover the gaps and by the time we do they were in positions to really punish us and pen us back in our box, usually we would have Semenyo as an outlet to hold the ball up but without that the ball kept coming back. There's positives but the squad is looking thin and without a few key players we will struggle to be consistent.
  22. Our midfield is porous - being walked through every time. Game is so open, heart palpitations every time we lose the ball, but looking bright when we go forward.
  23. Sykes and Naismith brought something different to our team. Enjoyed their performances. Less said about the ref the better, it is what it is. The Iranian player for them might have caused a couple injuries, hope Atkinson and Sykes recover fine. Nice to see us play out a bit higher up the pitch with Naismith, only found us a bit toothless when the first attempt doesn't work out to get through and we won the ball again it didn't look like we were going to be dangerous on the second ball in. Felt we played alright overall, just gave Seri a bit too much space to link things together. Unlucky City, on to next week. COYR.
  24. Nice to see Tanner get right in there for both goals, right at the backpost for the second goal too. Good competition on both sides will do us well for balance this season.
