Looks like Nige has told him a few home truths over his term here…and he didn’t take too kindly to it.

Hopefully Lansdown will sell up and move on soon as he’s taken the club as far as he can. Won’t have to worry about upsetting his ego. As grateful as I am for Lansdown sand his money, he’s not a football man and has often made poor choices when it comes to Bristol City. I for one am glad we have a man at the helm who knows what he’s doing and isn’t afraid to tell SL what’s what

  2. Although 4 at the back has served us well recently as it suits the players we have I personally feel we will go back to a 3-5-2 next season once we acquire the players we are after.

we will likely be getting a dominating ball winning cb in obrien to sit inbetween two ball playing cb’s.

pearson also loves our wing backs to get forward and join the attack. Despite what everyone is saying about wilson, I think he is part of the longer term plan to go back to this formation and compete with tanner. Equally if we signed bryan to compete with pring, it also leans towards the argument of wing backs going 100% every game for 45 mins and sharing the load to minimise injury whilst maximising on pitch output.

I also believe Pearson like two up top and another reason for my suspected formation change. Shared between wells, Conway, bell and cornick.

I feel the two deep lying playmakers/defensive midfielders would be shared between James, Naismith, Williams and Mcrorie with the two Scotsmen able to fill in at cb when needed/preferred.

the advanced playmaker to be scott if still around or shared between mehmeti, weimann, Sykes and Benarous on return.

overall, we should have a decent squad with numerous utility players to help cover in light of injuries. That’s just with three additions and without spending any money from a potential Scott sale. If we kept Scott then even better

  3. Not just crossing but the shambolic movement of our players when a ball is being crossed in. They all run to the same place like a moth to a flame. Where are the different angles of approach? Where is the late runner to run in to the ball that is often cut back? Our final third play is shockingly bad and the reason we rarely get a positive goal difference of 10 or more over a season. We need some real quality and intelligence injected into our attacking play.

  4. I reckon minimum 30mill with add ons and a sell on would do it. 25mill or less just doesn’t seem enough. We need to maximise the fee as these chances come around once in a blue moon.

That being said, would rather he stay for one more year for a proper play off push and if we go up, he simply stays with us unless a grealish level offer comes in. We can only dream….

  5. Passing ability, or lack thereof, is what really is holding Williams back from being a top rated championship midfielder. It’s frustrating but I’ve accepted his role is different to that of James etc.

I think as soon as Naismith is back fit, we will see Williams back to the bench.
