What are they claiming our business model to be?

Buy youth/abroad low, sell high and factoring that into financial fair play.

    A. You may never sell a player for profit, so shouldn't assume you will.

    B. Don't blame covid, had long enough to adjust.

Failure to beat the near post man is not a particularly bad crime for me.
Lots of corners routines are designed to get the ball into the near post and often it can appear as if it was a totally crap corner, but in actual fact may have only been inches from being perfect.
However, if it’s clear that the near post move wasn’t the plan, then yes, it’s a major crime.

    Fair point ?

  3. Bent

    Goodridge

    Murray

    Adomah

When you grow up with that lineage, you kind of expect the right winger to be an exciting, bums off seat type guy as a minimum.

The fact he wore a QPR shirt while at boro only adds to his legend status.  The exact opposite of how half footballers seem to be, carragher being one.

  4. I think the regular commentator has come into his own this season. Slating players is obv not part of the job spec, however he has definitely tonned down being overly positive when it's clear the game has gone.

  5. J. Pearce. Firstly far more than just a fan. I had no idea he was that closely connected to the club.

Secondly, and yes this is a little bit off topic, because they do deserve a moment just about them. But football, it's in all of us, and everything we do, isn't it? The momories, the moments, the friendships, the amazing, the embarrassing, the have we really just conceded in injury time again.

from the children seeing a stadium for the first time, to those now in countries further a field, connecting to their club however they can. they didn't just save a football club, they saved this gift giving way of life for generations to come.

Is that game we won early in in the season?

    I'd love to tell you..

But I remember two things about that day, plus two parent memories passed on

    1. The kickabout in the warm up, having essentially your superheroes passing a ball to you, it's like is this a dream or what.

    2. Going round post game getting as many signatures my ball as possible, I got all bar two I think... A few years later, by brothers used said ball for a kickabout in the rain, like we didn't have enough at home; every signature was rubbed off. I was gutted ?

Al! Apparently the reason I'm holding the ball is because I kept running off without it, it took a few goes to get this photo.

    B. Apparently I ignored half my family from the moment I left the tunnel for warm up, till after kick off. They kept trying to speak to me, but I was in a land far away. ?

Spot on Mendip. I remember him coming back to Ashton Gate as assistant Bournemouth manager and just getting a polite ripple of appaulse when he was walking into the Ayteo stand changing rooms after the warm up. Other returning players who hadn't given a tenth of his loyalty have been given hero's receptions doing the same walk.

He was certainly one of mine

All if's and buts, we just seem to get punished for every poor choice at the moment.

Don't think a truer statement exists tbh ?

It's ridiculous, it really does feel like that, on hypermode in injury time

I'm not sure he's fouled, I saw no complaints or appeals .
That said, and I'm repeating myself here, the best way to see a game out is to score again. He seemed to be running out of steam, he should have released the ball but hard to blame him in this position .

You can argue he should drive straight forward, but if he was tiring it makes you think slower. If he has enough in him to run to the corner, he has enough in him to go direct to goal and shoot. I think he's struggling by this point. I think he's trying to commit the last defender, but is not aware how close the chasing man is. All if's and buts, we just seem to get punished for every poor choice at the moment.

Not as bad, but bad enough. He's usually brilliant in those positions, calm as you could be. Just comes off of his heel.
This is as he hits the ball.

At first, to be honest I thought he was fouled, but was of the opinion some for, some against. But then I saw this angle which is basically the refs angle

Check out here from 8m 40sec, from this angle it really does look an absolute stonewall foul.

Bearing in mind it's the refs angle, how can he not give one?

For all his goals so far this season, I guess we should forgive him, but it was up there with Chris Iwelumo's miss for Scotland wasn't it?

But hey, some people would rather blame Cam Pring for not running the ball into the corner.

+ he was fouled, like really clearly fouled

If he goes to the corner, they get ball they score, is that is his fault too? I mean he didn't know exactly long left.

Easy hindsight blame if you ask me. Can't do much if you are fouled.

It was my first season, I can still list most of the team now without looking it up:

    Leaning or Sinclair

    Bailey

    llewelyn

    Newman

    Rennie

    Gavin

    Taylor

    Turner

    Smith

    Bent

    Leaning  Newman, Taylor, bent....

Pretty much childhood superheros right there.

They should never have been sold, they should still be playing today ?

Another blockbuster weekend with two close games. Burrow suddenly looks the real deal after the Bears gave him a beat down some weeks ago ?. Special praise for McPherson the kicker he's my MVP complete clutch kicker for a rookie and low draft pick what a season he's had.

Didn't see the late game but nobody wants to see the Rams buy a Superbowl ring. My heart goes out to those poor Lions fans it now looks like they gave away Stafford for some low draft capital and Jarred Goff ?

It pretty hard to buy something with a hard cap. Rules are same for everyone, some just play them better, and others are better at being all in

  13. Since and including QPR, the team has been different. The goals are a result of it, not the entertainment. The energy and intent has been there, so even if mistakes are made in application, fans respond positively.

A circle of positivity has essentially been created by energy and intent. Long may it continue.

  14. Journeyman - not so good

Mercenary - higher level player matching expectations for that level, no connection to that club, moves on.

Adomah isn't actually either of these words

Tevez for example, more of a mercenary

    Morata - somewhere between both

Andy Carroll - journeyman, just couldn't stay fit, but often worth a punt

    .......

Thinks its also a bit of a crossover

British English, more about the clubs at a lower level.

American English, more about reasons behind the moves and not achieving
