Purely as a fan, what is your expectation / hope for City?
Redrascal2 replied to reddogkev's topic in Football Chat
I would love Ashton Gate to be a ground that opposition teams were worried about playing at. -
We cannot see the tunnel let alone any light at the end of it.
-
It will only change when the Lansdowns sell up and leave and take their cronies with them. Until then nothing will change because there is no ambition. And now a reticence to spend any real money.

Leeds United at home match thread

The worst thing for me is we looked beaten before we started. Such a comfortable win and game for Leeds. At least we could have had a go at them and tried to put them under pressure. As for 2 strikers playing for us it didn't look like we had one playing. -

Poor performance but Mehmeti is so out of his depth at this level. Surely we might have an Academy youngster who might develop as opposed to him. Also just hope we have a striker lined up in the summer. -

We look awful all over the pitch except O'Leary and Pring. -
Looks a potentially exciting signing. Good to see we are also casting our net wide in the search for new players. Other clubs sign players not well known that turn out to be good signings. Hopefully it's our turn now. Well done Brian and the recruitment team who I have been moaning about. Hopefully more humble pie to come.

How many times does O'Leary drop a clanger in games. -

Well we only have to wait until the summer when Tinnion will go out and sign some players who can score goals. Or maybe not. -

So our one signing now out injured. A really great window. -

Well if they score more than 1 goal then we have had it. -
Haydon Roberts is a happy man tonight

Well I guess I am referring to what I see as an urgent need,a striker who can put away the chances we are creating or at least some of them. I thought that was high on the priority list this window and we haven't got anyone yet. -

Lansdown should have backed Liam Manning in this window. Playing some really good football but need someone to score the goals. Manning has done his bit but as usual Lansdown has failed to do his. -

But that is what we cannot do and it seems that nothing is going to change. -
Good outcome it would be miraculous.

Potentially very good signing. Did well to beat other clubs to get him. And good to see Aldershot complimenting City and Tinnion on the professional manner in which it was conducted. Must help with future signings.
-
Great performance. At last someone with a bit of edge in midfield. Has got the lot. Passing, tackling and a fierce desire. Thanks Joe

City are live on national television this Tuesday - its cliché time!

A joy to listen to him. -
Scott Twine - Loan Confirmed - No option to buy
Redrascal2 replied to Shauntaylor85's topic in Football Chat
Just when I naively thought Lansdown was going to really back the Manager and team. Personally disappointed but should not have been, its other clubs who have owners with ambition. The added sickner being the better he does will reduce the already slim chances we have of signing him. Cannot see any benefit in him becoming an integral part of the team knowing we will lose him at the end of the season and having to start all over again to recruit a replacement.Let's see how they balls up signing a striker. -

Isn't it usual that the longer the thread gets the less chance we have of signing the player. -

Shame is if he is good enough we have more than enough money to buy him. But you are right too much for Lansdown and that is why we will never progress under his ownership. -
I thought Wiemann was one who accepted a new contract on reduced terms.
-
I felt it more of a concern/worry than a criticism. At the moment there is no evidence of us signing anyone but there seemed to be some suggestion yesterday that Weimann was going. Hence the concerned post.
-
I agree with you. With the injuries we carry the squad is too small and to lose Weimann before a replacement is on board makes no sense. Worryingly that we must be missing targets and we have £25 million plus in the bank.
