  1. I was and never forgot it. What is frightening is where the hell those 50 years went
  2. Well mine is wrong so we are down to three.
  3. All the best for a complete and speedy recovery.
  4. I think with SL's plan I will be happy if we can stay in the Championship in the future.Talk of promotion to the Prem is pie in the sky. I hope he is on the way out because he has no real ambition for the club in a footballing sense. My worry is he will be around long enough to see off Pearson. Without Pearson so little of what has been achieved in the last couple of years would have been possible. Any other decently run club would, as has been said, be signing up NP with a new contract. But not Lansdown. He continues to make one poor decision after another.
  5. If we cannot finish off our chances then we will get nothing. And we cannot.
  6. I wonder if Nahki Wells will ever be the Wells of old. Taking half chances. We could really do with that Wells at the moment.
  7. It will be because I doubt he can accept or even realise he is completely to blame for the failure of our club to progress on the pitch. His affect is we are not even standing still. Our squad is weakened yearly by the selling of our best players and less and less money is being given to the Manager to strengthen. In the end the only result of this will be relegation. Let us hope he has sold up and cleared off before that becomes a reality.
  8. Surprised it is the first time you feel the club is being mismanaged from the top. It is a common thread that runs through Lansdown reign. Poor decisions, many poor managers and never backing the team when they really need it. Unfortunately I think the logical conclusion to this will be relegation this season.
  9. Standing still is going backwards and under SL we are moving in that direction at a rate of knots.
  10. Personally I always thought it was a way of SL giving his son something to do or something to play with.. Never been fit for purpose. Like his old man just standing back when Pearson needs support the most.
  11. Isn't the biggest risk those people who chose the players to sign and then agree the fees and wages. We get idiots like Johnson and Ashton signing players and it doesn't really matter where they are from. Look how well Brighton and Brentford recruit both in and out of the Premiership. Clearly a good recruitment and management team at work there. And they sign lots of foreign players
  12. We create chances, just reference the Hull game, but are unable to take them. Semenyo out Cornick in, Conway injured. No surprise really. The other thing that should be a surprise but sadly isn't, is when the team really need strengthening, Lansdown is no where to be seen.
  13. It is hard to see anything but a real struggle this season with our inability to score goals and win at Ashton Gate. You cannot change Semenyo for Cornick and expect things to get better. The decision not to use any of the Scott money to strengthen the team is hard to understand if you want a successful season.
  14. What chance did the poor bloke have, having Johnson as his mentor.
  15. Two of my grandchildren were mascots for Chelsea on Friday versus Luton. Their Dad is a long time season ticket holder. I was reading the programme today and there was a nice piece in there commemorating Chris Garland. I never realised that he was in the squad that recorded "Blue is the colour". And as they said every time it is played at Chelsea, Chris can be heard. What a nice thought.
  16. Well he isn't going to be busy with bringing new players in so what is he doing.
  17. Will you be equally excited by Lansdown choice of a successor. His track record must be one of the worst in the Football league.
  18. If he had run his company like he ran Bristol City then he would be penniless.
  19. How will Lansdown feel any pressure. It has never bothered him in the past when pursuing an unpopular course of action with supporters and cannot see it now. Promotion isn't his remit it is to cut costs and find investment elsewhere and to hell with the state of our football team.
