Great to see Antoine score yesterday against Liverpool. Oh how we miss him. A striker with pace and a physical presence. Somebody who defences worry about. And we replaced him with Harry Cornick. No wonder our attack lacks potency.

Spot on.

I must admit after a full pre season and games last year, I thought that Mehmeti would be a real threat this season. But he looks to me like a league 1 player still. Very disappointing.

Based on today we are in for a long hard season unless we bring some players in. Poor all over the park today. -

Based on what we have seen in the first half that is it then. Passes mishit, no control and an attack that possessors no threat whatsoever. -

Several on here said there were goals in this team. Well let's hope they are right. I am not convinced. But time will tell. -
Can You Help Nathan Baker?

All the best Nathan. Hope your new career brings success and security to you and your family. -
When I have taken my grandson to football, it seems that Barcelona and Real Madrid shirts dominate with the youngsters.

I said use some of the funds to strengthen the team due to the selling of Scott. I never said we can spend what we want . Also I thought that we did not have to sell Scott due to FFP and we could have kept him and still be on the right side.
-
It is hard to think of a club that would lose it's star player for £25 million and not use some of the funds to strengthen the squad. Only at Bristol City under SL.
-
I have to be honest I was never aware that SL had a strategy. Just as I have never believed he wishes to really set his sights on promotion.
-
But what if the player wanted to go in this window.
-
But doesn't the issue arise of what the player wants in these matters. If Scott wants to play at a higher level and vastly improve his earnings would it benefit us to block that.

Alex Scott - £25m to Bournemouth- Confirmed

All the very best to Alex and I hope he goes right to the top. A credit to himself and Bristol City as I am sure he will be to Bournemouth. It was a pleasure watching you. -

Well we have goals against teams from lower leagues. Let's hope we can do the same against teams in our own league. -
It all seemed to be going so well thrashing teams in friendlies, scoring goals for fun. Taking the 25million stance with Scott and clubs circling. Within a week it is crumbling. Drop two points at home, shock news on Conway plus injuries to countless others and no sign of Scott either playing or going. I don't know why my hopes are always dashed so quickly but should be used to it by now. I hope Pearson does some moves in the transfer market to shore up the squad. Maybe a striker on loan to start with. COYR.

I thought we were not going to be spending the Scott money due our wage ceiling. But based on today I hope you are right. -

Nothing improved since last season. Just cannot keep possession under pressure. No real goal threat. More of the same from NP, a long hard season. -

It's going to be a tough season. Can't keep possession. So many passes mishit. -

Alex Scott - £25m to Bournemouth- Confirmed
Redrascal2 replied to SinéadB's topic in All Things Ex Players and Managers
What concerns me is if he goes did I understand it correctly that we will not be using the money to replace him as we have already reached a wage ceiling. So lose your best player for a lot of money and spend none of it in bringing some sort of replacement and all this happening a few days before the start of the season. Perfect nightmare scenario. Have I got this right or have I had a bad dream trying to follow this saga.
