The fundamental problem is the standard of refereeing has dropped to an all time low.
The introduction of VAR has only made things worse.
The assistant referee’s ( formerly known as Linesmen) seem to be unable to make decisions or are just blind.
The PGMOL needs to take responsibility and become clear and open when officials are questioned. If a manager speaks out regarding officiating standards they should be allowed freedom to express an opinion without fear of fines etc.The number of camera angles shouldn’t matter the linesman would have had a reasonable view yet didn’t feel able to make a decision!
You reap what you sow. Referees have been the punch bags of media and Managers for years. They lack proper support from the football authorities and surprise surprise the standard is dropping. And less and less people want to be Refs Quite honestly I am amazed anyone would want to become a referee in the current climate. But still they get hammered week in week out. Players have developed cheating to an art form now with the full support of Managers and physio and club officials.Until Refs are properly supported I cannot see things improving.

He is adding the bite to midfield which we have lacked for a long time. Really hope he stays. It would be madness to lose him now. But this is Bristol City and if they can leave us without any goal scoring strikers then they are more than capable of cocking this up.

If only we had a decent striker.

Then from the scroll boxes chose radio Bristol, wherever you are in the UK.
Sounds like we are struggling in the air from set pieces, but creating chances ourselves.
Must have been said but live on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

I would love Ashton Gate to be a ground that opposition teams were worried about playing at.

We cannot see the tunnel let alone any light at the end of it.

It will only change when the Lansdowns sell up and leave and take their cronies with them. Until then nothing will change because there is no ambition. And now a reticence to spend any real money.

We’ve shown some real promise over the past few weeks, but, tonight we were completely outclassed in EVERY department.
Very frustrating evening, but I’ve still got an unusual sense of “trust the process” at the moment. The worst thing for me is we looked beaten before we started. Such a comfortable win and game for Leeds. At least we could have had a go at them and tried to put them under pressure. As for 2 strikers playing for us it didn't look like we had one playing.

Poor performance but Mehmeti is so out of his depth at this level. Surely we might have an Academy youngster who might develop as opposed to him. Also just hope we have a striker lined up in the summer.
-
We look awful all over the pitch except O'Leary and Pring.
-
Looks a potentially exciting signing. Good to see we are also casting our net wide in the search for new players. Other clubs sign players not well known that turn out to be good signings. Hopefully it's our turn now. Well done Brian and the recruitment team who I have been moaning about. Hopefully more humble pie to come.

Crap from O'Leary
How many times does O'Leary drop a clanger in games.

I struggle to remember a city that in recent weeks are playing so well but so dreadful when they approach the opposition box.
3 goals in the last 7 and a bit games.
Well we only have to wait until the summer when Tinnion will go out and sign some players who can score goals. Or maybe not.

According to Radio Bristol team news, Twine will be out for....a couple of weeks.
Rearrange this sentence.
Salt pinch with that take a of.
So our one signing now out injured. A really great window.

Well if they score more than 1 goal then we have had it.

Do we know that he hasn’t?
Well I guess I am referring to what I see as an urgent need,a striker who can put away the chances we are creating or at least some of them. I thought that was high on the priority list this window and we haven't got anyone yet.

Not being harsh. Frustrated with our final ball. If we had Twine tonight we may have won, I find our subs predictable, Wells on with Conway would have been a good bet, drop Conway back into a number 10.
Lansdown should have backed Liam Manning in this window. Playing some really good football but need someone to score the goals. Manning has done his bit but as usual Lansdown has failed to do his.

Arguably that’s the best 45 mins of football we’ve played this year under either managers. Just got to take the chances.
But that is what we cannot do and it seems that nothing is going to change.

Four very tough games in a short period of time. If we can come out of these still within 6 points of the playoffs that would be a great platform to maybe make a late charge. We lose them all and then it's another season of mediocrity confirmed. The optimist in me says that 5 points out of this lot would be a good outcome but it will be a very tough ask; especially the next two.
Good outcome it would be miraculous.
Great Result, but….
