It is, but I don't know how best to describe it.

Football moves on swiftly. In this instance SL pulling the drawbridge while say Birmingham, Coventry, Hull, Stoke spend to various degrees is standing still.

On a wider SL point, there is a strong element in football of "What have you done for us lately".

As in the industry and the game moves quickly, the historic stuff slowly fades from view if we are seen to stall or stagnate.

Should we choose to use it is key..that would require SL pouring in cash and equity again.

Apart from losing Pearson the biggest disappointment for me is that it would appear that Manning will get no serious support in the January window. It was obvious that they wouldn't help NP but you would have thought a new manager would get some backing. Particularly with our deficiencies in midfield and attack.

Akinbiyi was a monster for us then his career fell off a cliff. I remember that headed goal at Huddersfield where he left both his markers flattened on the deck. Probably get disallowed these days. Imagine being a centre half knowing you are up against that on a Saturday.

I loved it when a defender thought he had plenty of time and Akinbiyi set off to charge him down. They got rid of bloody quickly when they saw him coming. Or they ended up flying into the sidelines like they had been hit by a truck.

Fairly obvious that it's neither. But I think historically it's clear that he's more comfortable with a sycophant in charge.

So you have deduced that Manning is a yes man and  now a sycophant as well. And he has been with us for how long.

Are you struggling with this? I know nothing about this guy, but like many on here I've witnessed Lansdown struggling with strong personalities over the years, his knee jerk reaction being to bring in a manager he can control. Therefore I wait to be pleasantly surprised. But I doubt I will be.

Well I am one of those struggling with this. You know very little about Manning like most of us. He has been at the club for about 6 hours but you know he is a yes man. What incredible insights you have on someone you know nothing about.

After getting rid of Jordan (2nd time around) Wilson and now Pearson, it’s obvious that the one footed wonder certainly has the ear of the chairman…..

Poaching a yes man manger of a team in the division below certainly sums the club.

Sale your best players with no investment play the youth half the wage bill what else could have Pearson done to get another contract?

What has happened to Pearson has nothing to do with Manning. So rubbishing him as a yes man seems totally unfair mud slinging and wrong. He looks a good signing.

Thank you Curtis. You have given everything for our club whilst you have been with us. We are in your debt. All the very best in your future career which can only be a success based on what you have done for us.

With Pearson I think the majority understood it was a process that was going to take time due to the restrictions in place and we all had faith that eventually Pearson would be able to continue to improve us.

However he has gone now because the board stated we should be challenging with the squad we have. There is also an expectation that we out perform our ability and budget. So what's that, top 2?

So unfortunately for Manning, he doesn't get the same period of grace that Pearson got. He doesn't get time to adjust to this league. He needs to hit the ground running and have a successful season.

I think Manning has to be given the time any new coach/manager gets. He should not be held responsible for the bullshit spoken by the Lansdowns.

JL promised we’d be excited by the appointment, I really don’t see how he could make that assumption, he really isn’t an exciting appointment, if you think he is, fair enough I’ve obviously got higher standards.

I detest the Lansdowns and their treatment of NP. But on a standalone basis , if it happens,  I think this seems to be a good appointment, by their standards.

Apologies if this has already been posted, but I’ve just seen this colourised picture on fb. Fascinating. I think it’s Billy Wedlock who is standing on the 6 yard line.

My great grandad went to the game as I am sure many other relatives of posters on here did.

How I am received on this forum has nothing to do what you wrote and what you responded to.

How I am received is because I’m actually looking at the positives of our situation and looking forward at the future. Not looking backwards at the past and wishing Pearson wasn’t sacked.

We got an opportunity to potentially hire an exciting young manager. Who may play attacking and exciting football, which hasn’t been seen down Ashton gate in at least a few years. With a chance of some financial backing.

Pearson kept us up whilst spending a minimal amount of money. But majority of people on here think he did a job that only he could of done.

Anyway I could go on and on about the way people interact on here, but I’ll probably be wasting my time. If only I shared the same opinions and thoughts as the cult on here.

Looking at the positives and look forward to the future!! Well let's see how that plays out with Lansdown continuing at the helm. But of course he doesn't need to spend money on players because according to the Lansdowns our squad is good enough.
