TGH has the potential to be a regular performer for us over the next couple of years (till he goes to Bournemouth).

Decent on what basis (serious question)? He did okay at Exeter, yes. But that was a 'cosy' appointment at a club he knew well and was already a (little) bit of a legend there. At Rotherham, he did well to keep them in division, granted. But only just and the start to this season (when his ways really kick in) was very poor.
I'd say, at best, the jury is out on Matty Taylor (which probably swung it for him on this occasion)
Decent in the fact that we are talking about the gas, a league minnow.

Taylor would be a decent appointment for them.

Bells form has been so good it's got him into England under 20s?
To be fair (not saying I agree) but England are picking Kalvin Phillips. How’s his form?

I can be ITK here as my wife follows/stalks Mrs Weimann on Instagram. The family home is in Solihull but they have a place down here which they use on weekends/as needed.
Course mate.

Conway looks anything but a top championship striker at the minute. Needs an experienced head alongside to get the best out of him.

I’m not suggesting the players shouldn’t have come during this recent break. It makes sense for Manning to use the time available to in-still his ideas. He probably had to. I’m solely highlighting the fact that our senior leaders and many posters on this forum have suggested the rest periods that were afforded by NP perhaps, were not normal at elite level. They obviously are.

Probably in the wrong thread, for all the stick about “de conditioning” and too much time off, it was interesting to hear Kevin Nolan (West Ham Coach) reveal that those not on international break for the Hammers had a full week off. This was on Talksport yesterday.
Pearson was involved at elite level as was Rennie. Something JL and Tinnion have never operated at. Would suggest many top level sides perhaps have similar methods to NP/DR.

Atkinson is one we don’t currently need to rush back so hopefully we’ll do what’s right.

We’ve slowly reverted back to the England of old. Very flat.

I think the most unpopular striker in my time was Scott mcgarvey, he got terrible stick from the dolman, even when he scored he was called a flash fing such and such, his scoring record for us was decent
Before my time - why was he unpopular? Decent record on wiki. Goal every other game pretty much.

Players look too “deconditioned”.

Pitch looked awful with all the white lines all over it. I know there was rugby less than 24hrs prior but zero effort to cover them. Embarassing when you see tweets of how nice the pitch was looking in BS7.
Who plays in BS7?

I would replace James with naismith, naismith is a forward passer looking for openings James is a safety first negative passer neither has pace both can sit in front of defence but for me a big difference in end product. Maybe.
Oleary
Tanner vyner dickie pring
naismith
Sykes Knight mehmeti ( bell)
Wells conway
With subs to hold out or push on
Tgh James Williams cornick
Hmm not easy to pick .I probably change opinion after every game
Incredibly harsh on James. General movement ahead of him is non existent. No wonder he decides to go sidewards.

I believe in the Summer TC will only have 12 months remaining on his contract? If this is the case we will probably be looking to sell him.
Going to need to find some form for there to be suitable takers and worthwhile offers. I can’t see TC leaving, only extending.

I think when he says play without the ball, he means the pressing pattern and the certain triggers when to press. Probably a lot more complicated stuff, too much detail for us to worry about on here. Maybe he thinks that’s the easiest message to get across in the short time frame and he had before the game.
Dont think he meant sitting back and parking the bus behind the ball and hit them on the counter. These next two weeks I’m guessing he’ll work them hard on possession and patterns of play. May take weeks or months to finally getting them to play the way he wants. I for one will judge him when the times right, not a day or week(s) after arriving in Bristol.
Let’s hope it’s not months. As Rooney is finding out, you’ll soon drop like a stone and find the world against you. He needs to implement his style (with players who won’t necessarily suit it) whilst continuing to pick up points. Very difficult. To be fair, NP was doing that. The next phase would’ve been to add some quality to those already in the building, to take us to that next level.

Because it’s the most basic building block of a side, without it you are stuffed and I’m assuming LM etc need to have confidence in the structure their way, didnt he say in interview done very little with the ball and it’s mostly been shape.
Wouldn’t we be better off focusing on what we do when we have the ball? Conceding goals hasn’t been our problem, neither is winning the ball back. I want to see us better with the ball, more importantly, in the final third whether that be quality or the right decision.
