  1. General points…

Vyner’s distribution is so poor. The odd Hollywood ball which comes off is not enough to cover the times he gives it away.

Knight, Weimann and Conway in particular, are anonymous.

    Rob Dickie is good.

The lack of movement from Conway and Weimann is scandalous. We need a centre forward (would love a younger Aaron Wilbs).

Matty James (who I rate) has lost his legs on the turn.

Paul Smith looks a player. Willock bright too.

That’s what I’m looking for too.

I’m hoping Manning can add something to Mehmeti’s game to make him flourish. There is something there.

And get Bell back to his best!

As we know with most youngsters, consistency and form can go up and down. Sam Bell has had a few off games. Pearson would’ve got him back to his best.

Im in the, “Manning needs to encouraging performances and circa 9pts” camp.

Weird question, but hey: does anyone else avoid buying things that are blue - I'm talking cars, etc. - for example, I simply won't buy a blue car. Partly because I owned an unreliable POS that happened to be blue, but also because...well, you know.

    Toothbrushes.

I’d also not totally rule out that those being ignored were club (I.e Tinnion) decisions, not just manager. Maybe a combination of the two of them.

Typically on a similar page to you PH as you talk a lot of sense. Not on this one though. Anyone out of the squad for whatever reason I’m sure, would be Pearson’s choice only.

I must say there were a couple of comments in there which had given me O’Driscoll vibes. The bit where he states he’s not focusing on outcomes - I understand what he’s trying to say, yet it brings back horrible memories of when SO’D said he wasn’t looking at the league table (despite the fact we were in the relegation slots!!). That said, there are bits in there which “align” to Pearson. The setting of culture, often one of the more challenging tasks he’d expect, has been done for him. He has a solid platform to work with. I get the impression he’s in between LJ and NP with the way he is trying to articulate his thoughts. Which I am on board with.

With a lot of frustration towards the board currently, I really hope he hits the ground running as managing (sorry, head coaching) the likes of West Ham U’23, MK and Oxford will be a different kettle of fish to us. I hope he’ll build himself up some credit before we inevitably endure a patch of poorer form.

  6. Chuckling at some of the posters on here. What has arrogance got to do with some showing disappointment in the potential appointment of Manning. We were advised it would be an exciting appointment. The coach of Oxford United doesn’t fill me with excitement. I feel hugely underwhelmed but not surprised. Hopefully he hits the ground running.

No surprise to hear his view based on his 50 zillion personas on here, Lez, Dog, Londoner, Gabrielle.  He’s perfectly entitled to them too.  I hope he’s consistent with his evaluation of the next “manager”.

Did laugh when the guy said how embarrassing the love in has been on OTIB. Not as embarrassing as a grown bloke trying to login under multiple usernames trying to spout his own agenda. 🤣

Quite possibly the most contradictory FBC POD I’ve listened to on this occasion. Did nothing for my frown lines.

Has taken one Bristol City team to the top league why not give her a go at the men’s team. Better option that some names being mentioned 🤔🤔

Going by Jon Lansdowns law she’s underachieving currently, so it’s a no from me.

Genuinely didn’t hear any of these from the middle of the Dolman.  Did hear the Nigel’s Pearson’s red & white army chant, but that’s all.  The irritatingly unoriginal “Is this a library?” from Wednesday suggest how quiet it was.

Heard it loud and clear from W4. Selective hearing I would say.

I’m posting in hindsight, but I thought Weimann playing left forward today offered so much more than Sam Bell has recently.

He played 20 yards infield, and that allowed Pring a lot of space to move into.  If I’m being slightly critical of Pring, I think he played 10 yards too high first half, but at least we didn’t have Bell denying the space down the channel.

The other thing Weimann did was run in behind Conway, and switch with Conway as he sometimes dropped into pockets.

A solid performance for the team from Andi imho.

I’ll be honest I’m still not seeing it with Weimann (this season), Dave. I actually thought he again was disappointing yesterday in the main. I thought first half especially, that Conway was a little isolated up top and wasn’t being ably supported by Weimann and others. The second half, Wednesday were a little deeper sitting in which closed the pitch forcing our advanced midfielders to be closer to Conway. Don’t get me wrong Bell has been due a rest and time out of the side, however Weimann doesn't offer much of an improvement for me.
