League is tight. Bit of level headedness wouldn’t go a miss from a small minority on here. Championship is a mighty competitive league with most around the same standard. I fully expect the rollercoaster to continue.

dont understand why Semenyo taken off?
Injured.

Dare I say I would’ve brought Conway on to stretch them. Martin doesn’t give defenders that thought.

This is pretty uncomfortable.

Antoine has to make the keeper work there.

Hate it when our fans sing derogatory songs about the team when we are winning (how s*** must you be we are winning away). As a player that would piss me right off.

Max O’Leary has zero presence. He’s like a boy in the box. If it’s not Bentley, it’s definitely not MOL.

Anyone else’s West Brom stream down still?
Refreshed it and is back on.

Hasn’t performed to an acceptable level and plays for the 21s (reserves). Nothing to see here.

I was in the minority in thinking that we should have sold him in the summer.
I just felt the cash could have been used to improve the team in other areas where we are severely lacking.
In my mind it was a simple equation. Would we be a better team with a new CB, new midfielder etc? or would we be better without those but with Semenyo in the team? and unfortunately however good Semenyo is, I think I'd rather of had the extra players.
Did we have a bid in the summer?

Yeah I agree, a couple of defeats next week would see real pressure on him. Lansdown may hold off until the World Cup to give himself more time to decide but the thought will be in his head now
We’ve been on far worse runs, believed we had more money to spend and still not fired the trigger. Can’t see it.

Bit of both here but I do feel that if a keeper is coming for it there, you take the lot including your defenders. Max doesn’t and will not have the presence to do that. Perhaps the new lad will provide real competition.

In an open game, City can compete with the best in this division, combining attractive, passing football with plenty of goals.
So why do we melt away against physical opponents like Birmingham and Millwall, who seek to stifle, bully and play the percentages?
Why aren't we mentally strong enough to be braver in possession and make better decisions in defence?
Rather than blame Pearson, I'd prefer a rational discussion.
We have a quality problem in key areas.
-
I actually think Pearson may call it quits / take an alternative role at the end of the season. The game is changing, his hands are consistently tied and he’s certainly not getting any younger. We are still some way away from him being able to operate with relative freedom. Another season of struggle beckons and I wonder whether he’ll call it quits.

I did query whether we should cash in on what was a phenomenal, but likely unrepeatable, season. I got pelters, which I did expect, but I wish we’d done it. We’d have no more FFP looming over us and even a few million to work with. When a 30 year old has the season of his career, I think you just need to take the money. And there were interested parties.
I love Andi, but think we made the wrong decision for the club.
To cash in we’d need a buyer wouldn’t we? Did we reject any official bids?

I can't recall anyone of us saying for Wells to "drop out" other than in the context of it allowing the offensive part of our game to revert to the proven W-S-M of last season.
Weimann is a shadow of the player he was last campaign and his reverted to his career norm of being good in patches. On current form he's the one to be left out in my opinion to put an extra pair of legs in midfield.
Circa 29 minutes. Revert back to WSM and rest Nakhi etc. Resting Nakhi would mean he’s not in the side, right?
Around the time Ian suggested playing the youngsters but then stated they aren’t ready. Covering all bases as usual so he’ll be right one way or another.
To add - I do chuckle re the call for Martin to return (as part of WSM) as I’m sure he was weekly scapegoated on your pod for nigh on 2 years.

8 goal involvements in 12 games and there’s a call for Wells to drop out.

We thought the days of performances like yesterday's were long gone.
Why though? Surely you’ve seen enough false dawns at Ashton Gate to not get carried away.
Also, all sides will have periods or games where performance levels are below standards. The important thing is to not see these performances over an extended period and how we bounce back.
Improvement is needed. Absolutely. No disagreement here. Yet should we hit another green patch, I still fully expect a dour performance or 2 in amongst another run. It’s football.

I'd take this more seriously if it wasn't for the stupid 'kisses' at the end.
If a bloke did it to a female - hello HR
Dunno why women do it, or why they think it's 'cute'

Few on here overly sensitive tonight it seems.
Enjoy the kisses.

At what point do people start to recognise that Frankie Fielding was better ? And that our next signing should be a keeper? Sorry he can make all the random world class saves he wants but give me a steady reliable safe hands keeper all day
Fair point. Bring back Fielding.
In fact, bring back Welch.

He’s not playing but he’s managed to get Jonathan Wilkes a game.
