You’re talking about two games which have obviously been underwhelming. But that doesn’t mean the entire spell has been?
He’s won 2 league games out of 10. That’s pretty underwhelming for me.
I take my hat off to you fella, in respect of your optimism.
Of course, I hope Manning can get us on track as that means a successful Bristol City. I have huge reservations though.

I don’t really agree it’s been underwhelming, a lot of it is as expected because we have a mid table squad. Pearson done a good job stabilising the club but I’m personally behind Manning
How can you not find it underwhelming? We’ve just lost to two side in the bottom 3 and the results could’ve been more convincing. I ask what is making it even “standard/middle-whelming” for you?
Did you watch the last 2 fixtures?

But also these are the same players who had these poor runs? Everyone gave Pearson a chance (rightly so) with that god awful squad in 20/21. Why doesn’t Manning get the same patience?
Because Manning has a nigh on full compliment of players at his disposal and took over a side that was solid enough albeit unfashionable. Pearson took over a shambles of a club not just a side.

That said………….this season is pretty much over and Manning will have the summer window to offload and strengthen the squad. He’ll then have the entire preseason ‘on the grass’ to work on implementing his methods ready for next season - he won’t have any excuses should things not go to plan.
Because of that I’m prepared to get behind him and review how we’re doing around 10-12 games in.
My concern with this is we allow him to sign a deluge of players (as per his previous history) and after 10-12 games when it hasn’t worked, we are left with a raft of players on 3 year deals who the next manager doesn’t see fit. Rinse, repeat and so on…

Happy I’m not the only one, we’ve seen these runs of form and performances before Manning so I don’t get why he’s getting scapegoated on here like it’s something completely new?
No one is suggesting we didn’t have these runs, but are respectfully questioning why make the change in manager, if we aren’t going to see less of these poor runs.

I don’t think Mehmeti is perfect at all, but there is a player there which I think Manning has got better over time. Pearson preferred Yeboah and Cornick over him which is absolutely hilarious
Easy to say a shocking appointment now but there’s no way you were saying that a week and a half ago. For me, I’m giving him minimum a pre season where hopefully we’ll look like we can break teams down whilst having more of the ball. This was a problem under Johnson, Holden and Pearson (although his fan club don’t want to admit it)
Plenty have been stating their concerns on here pre and post Southampton, however have been shot down by a few.

I think the most frustrating thing for me is that the fan base and club are back to being divided. Under the previous regime, expectations were managed well, we were gradually progressing and seeing an influx of youngsters come through. It felt relatively solid. Pretty much as solid since Cotterills league winning season. The owners and that tosser Tinnion have ripped it up and that is unforgivable. We are a mess again (already!).

I think those continually dismissing the thoughts of @W-S-M Seagull, would do well to acknowledge many of his concerns.
Fortunately the early season points will see us safe here, however I’ve little confidence this pretender will have us in anything other than a relegation battle next season. He already looks lost and somewhat exposed at this level. Nothing but an ego and vanity project by Messrs Tinnion and Lansdown.
Whether the change of manager needed to be made or not, it’s clear Manning is the wrong appointment for us to progress.

Vyner looks a shadow of the player he was at the moment. Man management I guess.

Decent presence up top is Ugbo.

Regardless of Knight’s goal, they have had the better of the first 25 minutes.

Pearson produced inconsistent results as well. Can’t remember you talking similarly at those points
Absolutely he did. Therefore, a change was made for progression and immediately at that. JL stated the change was made so our season still would have something in it. It’s February and our season has pretty much finished already.

The double standards are embarrassing from IG. However, it probably comes with the territory now he’s one of Tinnions little pawns.
Probably says more about Tinnion, if he feels feeding Ian Gay (of all people) will pacify supporters.

Remain unconvinced on Manning and it will take more than a back to back wins amongst sustained winless runs to change that.
I enjoyed the fixtures against premier league opposition and the saints, however it’s the fixtures against the likes of QPR and the bottom half where Manning really needs to earn his corn.
In the large majority of his games so far, as many have stated, his in game management has left a lot to be desired.

So basically they embellished a story to give a false impression of what happened, and make it sound like a real coup. It might be a real coup, but not for the reasons they gave. Basically he just didn’t play very well at Westerlo. There is just no need for bullshit.
We had the same cynical thoughts didn’t we?
@Curr Avon and what was the reaction on FBC when you read this out this morning?
I actually think he read it out last week @Davefevs

He’s shown in half a dozen games that he’s pretty much ok. Not much more than that.
And if he keeps doing what he did today then I’ll be making a much bigger deal of itI’m with @Harry. On average during his time here, he’s probably at a 6.5/10. He’s shown glimpses that he has something, but not enough to bring forward the deal to sign him in Jan.
I’m not actually convinced Manning is totally sold on him despite the club completing the deal.
As fans I think sometimes a players personality and club “buy-in” can give extra points, rather than it being solely based on the quality and consistency of their performances.

Where did the cock in the middle get that from then? QPR spent the whole second half on the floor time wasting.
I thought post Qatar and heading into this season proper added time was going to be played?
Far from the reason we lost but clearly an absolute incompetence from the referee
We were abysmal today. I’d rather he blew up on 70 minutes and put us out our misery.

Terrible game! Max and Roberts probably the best of the bunch.
I find Roberts to be one who ball watches and reacts rather than anticipates. Hopefully he can knock that out his game.

Would like to know why Twine wasn’t given some minutes. Games crying out for some brilliance and I hear he has that in his locker.

Woeful.
Classic City. Couple of decent performances and then the bump back to reality.
You could write it.

Gardner Hickman has been no better since he came on.

What a boring watch this is. We look dire.
Was really hoping Mebude being an unknown quantity might bring something more when he came on.

Time for knight to come off, not happening for him today
I agree. One game too many perhaps. Twine on to switch it up, with a bit of composure in the final 3rd.

Knights distribution and decision making has been poor so far today.

That will tell you how bad we have been in the last two fixtures as a minimum.
