  1. The first sign of us having a squad capable of challenging eachother for positions, and people want to sell off our best assets.
  2. At least the standard of officiating seems to be just as poor as it is in the EFL.
  3. Exactly the right way to use Martin nowadays. He certainly can still contribute, but hasn't got a full 90 minutes in his legs. Get him on to protect a lead, and defend from the front. It's no surprise that we have seen out both results when he has been brought on for the final period of the game. Let the likes of Weimann, Wells, Conway or Semenyo tire out the opposition, get a lead, and bring Martin on to see the game out. A great option to have.
  4. As an attacking unit (all options included) we have to be up there with the best in the league. The options we have available to us. You would back all of them to get 10 goals a season minimum. Conway, Weimann, Wells, Semenyo, Martin. Other teams would dream of having those options available to them. Special mention to the midfield and defence as well today. That's two clean sheets in back-to-back games. I can't remember when we last achieved that.
  5. All the excitement about signing Wilson, and he isn't given a game in his natural position. Scott is an incredible midfielder, but cannot be shoehorned into the right-wing back role in order to make space for others. Must be frustrating for Wilson.
  6. Prediction: City 3 - 1 Cardiff Tommy Conway at the double, Weimann to get the other. For the first time in a while, I find there's a good feeling surrounding our Home matches. The large attendance against Sunderland, and the performance against Luton could be a welcome boost for our games at Ashton Gate moving forward. The crowd seem fully behind the team, and the atmosphere seems to have increased. Tomorrow's game needs no introduction, the fans will be well up for this, and hopefully the players can repeat last season's performance.
  7. I'm fairly sure Nige also commented on this not too long ago. Stating that it was a boost for Benarous' confidence as he was speaking with experienced pro's one-to-one on a daily basis in the treatment room. From what I've seen from clips and on the open training session, Benarous' and Semenyo are both being kept with the squad wherever possible.
  8. He's guaranteed to be with our first team when he returns. No chance he goes down to League 2/non- league level. He just needs to recover from his injury, and then he will be on our bench/challenging for a starting position.
  9. I don't believe we will see him until after Christmas. The type of injury sustained, and at the age he is at, the club won't risk the injury re-occuring. He's a special talent, and has a long-term future at the club. We won't risk rushing him back until the injury heals, and he is 100% back to full fitness. He's been doing low impact training (bike work) in the HPC gym. But there's still many stages he needs to work through to even get back onto the grass. Then he will complete individual training (like Semenyo currently is) before being reintegrated back into the team training sessions. One thing Nige is very strict on, is ensuring players are fully fit and free of any injuries before he will consider playing them. Hence Kalas taking so long to return, Joe Williams being managed carefully, and Cam Pring needing to slowly build his fitness back up.
  10. Ghana representatives will already be keeping an eye on Palace, due to both Jordan Ayew and Jeffrey Schlupp. So you could argue he would be better suited there from an international perspective. He will get game time, Palace will not spend circa. £15m for him to not play.
  11. Pearson's recent comments surrounding transfers seem to hint that he is perhaps bracing himself for one asset to depart before the end of the window. Last night (post Luton), he stated that there is no more money available for incomings, and that it relies on a sale in order to bring in new additions. The likelihood is, that it will be Semenyo, as rumours are gathering pace. I completely agree with you, he can make an impact at Palace. He would likely be 2nd or 3rd choice straight away, and would get opportunities to claim a starting position. We still look a threat in attack with Semenyo out injured, and Conway is displaying similar strengths from both wide and central areas of the pitch. 3 goals and 2 assists (?) so far. Brandon Thomas-Asante (Salford) could be a long-term Semenyo replacement.
  12. Off the top of my head, the only penalties I can remember us having in recent years are: - Martin v Coventry - Wells v Norwich - Diedhiou v QPR Other than that, I don't recall any others.
  13. Medical report: injured. Loan back based on end of season fitness?- No loan deal in football history has had a clause insuring the player is fit at the end of the season. We cannot predict the future. I don't see what Palace would gain from loaning him back to us. He's 22 years old, and can make an immediate impact (when fit).
  14. If anyone saw the O'nien (Sunderland) challenge tonight, you'll fully agree with Nige's statements about the standard of refereeing. Shambolic.
  15. It truly is laughable. During our League One double season under Cotts, I sat towards the back of the Dolman. There was a guy in the row behind me, and all he did was moan every single game. Criticizing each and every player. He spent half of the Swindon game slating Wilbraham, then grumbled (instead of celebrating) when he scored. Imagine, One of our most enjoyable seasons as a football club, and all you do is turn up to moan at the players. Even more amusingly, he left before we lifted the trophy, after the 8-2 win over Walsall. Baffled at times as to why some people even call themselves fans. I can guarantee he's one of the first to start a new topic on here after a bad result.
  16. One of his best games for us tonight. He was unplayable. His energy, combined with the composure he showed in possession, and the pressure he put on Luton when pressing. He was superb. Long may it continue.
  17. Every decision was spot on tonight. He was the calmest person in the stadium, and needs to take credit for the game-plan. He worked out Luton's strengths, and created a plan to nullify them. Big credit to Nige and the coaching staff tonight. The players out in the performance, but the coaching staff certainly had an impact. Great to see the unity amongst the squad as well. I loved seeing the defence praise eachother after every clearance/tackle.
  18. I cannot wait to hear Nathan Jones' interview. He's extremely angry at the best of times.
  19. Every player was excellent tonight. There's a case for all of them. Nice to see the likes of Naismith, Massengo and Vyner make positive strides tonight. All three was superb for the full 90 minutes. Even the subs came on and made impacts. Joe Williams charging 40/50 yards to press, and makes a challenge. Love the aggression he has to his game.
  20. BREAKING NEWS: Peter Kay announced as referee for Sunday's severnside Derby. The EFL wanted to ensure they continue to hire Comedians to referee Bristol City matches.
  21. What a performance. What a response. Every player to a man was excellent tonight. Played with passion, and a desire to win. The team selection was superb and we executed the game plan perfectly. Up the city!!!
  22. Referees need to start being interviewed after games like the managers are. They need to be held accountable for their decisions.
  23. That's an absolute disgrace from the ref! Another penalty not given, and keen as you like to send Sykes off. We received an apology today for the officiating at the Hull match. I'd expect another very soon!
  24. Conway is going to be some player for us. He links the play well, and his positioning inside the box is excellent. Great goal, very similar to the one against Wigan on Saturday. Massengo did very well to find Weimann, and the assist from Andi was perfect.
  25. Nakhi deserves that! Wells and Conway look like a very good partnership. They understand eachothers game so well. Alex Scott's passing from central positions is fantastic.
