  1. Rothwell and Gray are both out of contract. Djed Spence is difficult to compare as full backs often cost less than attackers, but will still go for good money. The big draw for Semenyo is the number of Prem teams that require a player like him. West Ham, Southampton, Bournemouth, Forest, Brighton, Brentford and potentially even Everton could all benefit from a player such as him, whether that be as a starter or as cover.
  2. Must be a serious bid, if true. Instantly meeting the clubs asking price. I suppose it's also best to get the deal done and improve the squad early, as opposed to trying to replace him later in the window. Would be a huge shame to lose him after the form he showed last season. However we must keep his contract situation in mind, he's currently at peak value. £15m-£20m would be ideal, would allow us to invest in the squad, whilst banking much needed funds to ease the financial burden.
  3. Not at all suggesting Kalas hasn't done enough to stay, in fact I would have him in our strongest team. However, it warrants him reducing his wages in order to stay, or we risk losing him for free next summer. Therefore it leaves Pearson with a decision to make. The likes of Bentley and Dasilva are in similar situations, but I don't believe that their wages aren't on the same level as Kalas'.
  4. I still believe he may be one of the 4 players that Pearson mentioned he had spoken to on sound of the city. A more even wage structure points in that direction.
  5. Probably one of the most important pieces of business we can do this summer. We looked so much better after his arrival.
  6. Really interesting listening to him describe his time with us. In a weird way his time with us went full-circle. He said he initially wanted to sign for us because he thought he could move to a bigger club after 6 months. Was initially a centre midfielder, who had done well at youth/reserve level for Newcastle. Quickly found out that competitive football is a completely different standard. Did his 28 days in jail and was grateful that the club stuck by him, although feels that they had to due to Brooker being a valuable asset, and the club not being able to release one and not the other. Moved to right back and never looked back. He says that in his opinion, he became one of the best right backs outside of the Prem, and it's hard to argue otherwise. He's a really likeable guy.
  7. Unfortunately it seems that the club admin is aware of fans interests in the "on the hour" theme. I saw the 4pm and 6pm posts and wondered if something could be happening. Anyway, On to tomorrow...
  8. Always eagle-eyed during transfer season! Genuinely excited for how the squad could look at the end of the window. Optimistic to say the least. Plus, this is one deal I really want us to get over the line. If he does well, and with age on his side, he could be a valuable asset.
  9. That's my worry, is the admin on the wind up...
  10. Club tweeting on the hour... Might be grasping at straws, but this is the approach we usually use on socials to build tension when a signing is due to be announced.
  11. Episode out tomorrow featuring Bradley Orr. Should have some cracking stories from his time at City, and for once we may take up the majority of the episode.
  12. Also worth noting that he posted just after the play-off final finished. Make of that what you will...
  13. If he does go to Watford, you can't help but feel he will be unheard of once Watford do their usual and sack the manager after 10 games.
  14. Is it possible to create a sub-forum for the constant moaners to attend instead. It's becoming exhausting reading the constant negativity. The season hasn't even started, we've made two good signings early in the window, one of which was POTY at a play-off side, and people are quick to deem us as doomed for relegation. Have some hope, we are all supposed to support our club and be optimistic about the future.
  15. Wrexham's Jordan Davis (number 7) looks some player in midfield. He's been involved in absolutely everything. Only 23 years old so would expect to see him in the football league at some point in the future.
  16. Absolutely. The range of targets would increase tenfold of they are to get promoted. Ainsley Maitland-Niles is another that springs to mind. Whereas we may be the best place for Kane Wilson with his current rate of progression, whilst being able to give him a platform to develop further.
  17. If Forest go up, and Spence ends up being out of reach for them, then I could see them going for Max Aarons instead.
  18. Hope we can get this one over the line. As mentioned, the play-off final tomorrow seems key. Nige wants the bulk of our transfer business completed before players report for pre-season training. Estimate that will be in 2-3 weeks time.
  19. I think you're correct. Signing Naismith, whilst also having Atkinson who can play the LCB role would indicate that we have now covered Bakers position. If Klose signs his deal, whilst also having Kalas, then we have 4 very good centre backs for this level. The Horsfall (Northampton) rumour may also be correct and act as Cundy's replacement, thus giving us great options at the back. Kane Wilson next please.
  20. Just watched his interview after signing. Very impressive. He has a winners mentality and said Pearson was key to him signing. Certainly a lot to like about this deal, and bodes well for what is still to come this summer.
  21. Wow! That's some signing for us. He had a fantastic season, and has all the attributes we require at the back. Very excited about the season ahead now. If we manage to keep Klose, and add Kane Wilson we are in a great place. Rinomhota would complete the business with minimal spend (comp for Wilson).
  22. Could be the start of the Luton squad being completely dismantled.
  23. Judging by the latest Twitter post, it looks like this could be confirmed in the next few mins. A big well done if it is him signing. Sharing the news and confirmation within 2 hours is impressive.
  24. With that in mind, I'd hope we would try for Harry Cornick. He looks a great player.
