You make it sound as if he’s in a retirement home. He should be in the best shape of his life at 30!

Especially these days when fitness/gym is massive.

Better shape than he was in his 20’s? Every day past 26/27 is downhill for athletes.

Really nice bloke in store he said online sales is always 25% of the stock and that is done away from Ashton gate so what was on the racks was the other 75% of the stock

Doubt it. In the huge majority of decent sized companies online sales dwarf in-person. In reality the shop probably turns over a tiny fraction.

If that’s true then it’s a disgusting way to treat supporters and if I’d made the effort to go down there specifically for that item I wouldn’t have been leaving without one.

Oh really? They have told you it was sold out, and you’d have gone home.

That’s manager/HC talk for “he’s picked up another niggle/injury but we can’t say it”

No, I don’t think it is. He’s probably just a bit stiff. First 45 minutes since November, for a 30+ year old.

With talk of players coming back (except big rob, hopefully not to serious), if by some miracle we had a fully fit squad, ignoring form or not deserved to be dropped, what is our best starting eleven? think i like the look of

                    O'Leary

    McCrorie Vyner Dickie Pring

        Knight Naismith Williams

        Skyes Conway Twine

I may need to swap Nailsmith & Williams, also difficult call between Dickie & Atkinson

Naismith does not get in our best 11, and certainly not in midfield.

With Kal and Rob playing in the 21s today, here’s an updated injury table.  Which of course might see Twine and / or Sykes fit tonight.

It could just be poor old (young) Benarous after tonight.

    Who’d have thunk it, ay?

I've always wondered why we have to have a separate transfer forum? I'm sure there is a legit reason for it.

I don’t mind that, it means it is easily trackable. The engagement is also very high. Whereas the former player sub is taking threads that would otherwise have hearty conversation and hiding them.

Had another set back before Christmas, would do well to play this season it sounds like.

Did he? He was seen in multiple training videos when Twine joined.

We need not sell our best for the foreseeable.

Conway the only possible exception, the lack of a new contract being agreed maybe an issue..

I think Pring may be an inevitable sell as well. So that’s another replacement on the list.

In fairness they've all done us proud, as I said elsewhere in the thread.

Albeit it is frustrating and the back 3 I am unconvinced by..especially without Naismith and Atkinson available for the variety. A fully fit McCrorie would also be a different proposition at wingback.

I'm not fully against it but I have strong reservations atm.

I am also wondering if for the sake of a shape Tanner inverted and narrower at LB could have been a way to go.

    But.. but… he’s a midfielder, no?

Still wonder how many fans got Bela and Bellingham mixed up, and accredited all of Bela’s good work that night to Bellingham (both were good)! 🤣🤣🤣

    Very few, I’d imagine.

I still maintain he could be a good option in midfield. CM anyway or deepest between back 4 and the bulk of the midfield.

He played in a back 3 at Luton and indeed here giving us an extra dimension.

So because you think he could be an option in midfield, he is classed as a midfielder? In spite of the fact that he is actually a centre half?

Bird has some experience of the level tbh and is of a good age.

You do need a blend but as it stands..

    O'Leary, Bajic

    McCrorie, Tanner

    Vyner, Dickie, Atkinson

    Pring, Roberts

    Knight, TGH, Bird, Naismith

    Sykes, Cornick

    Bell, Mehmeti

    Benarous

    Conway, Wells

Some due to age v experience already gained have undoubted room for growth too. I appreciate there are some caveats too, some are more towards the other end of their career ie Naismith and especially Wells.

It's not a back 3 type squad, the shape is fundamentally mismatched.

Youth who may make their mark:

    Murphy, Stokes

    Palmer-Houlden

Seriously, Naismith is a centre half. He’s played, what, 3/4 games in midfield for us?

Pring definitely took a knock early on early in the game last night and wasn’t his usual self throughout. Hope he’s ok as he has been a constant thorn and high performer in our side. Was worried he was going off with Roberts on - imagine that against a rampant Leeds. Pring is such a vital starter these days but we seem to lack cover of his physical presence. Is he also due a suspension? Atkinson back soon would help I guess.

James pulled up holding his groin towards the end and struggled to finish the game. He looks like he might be out for a while.

    Does he? Really?
