Pretty sure all contracts of a season or more have to end on 30th June.  As you say it’s only short-term deals that don’t.  Think I read it in Ben Smith’s autobiography.

I hope the loan-back comes with a good compromise on the fee.  I wonder if it might even be performance related, e.g. we pay less if they get promoted?

My recruitment buzzword.  Spot on BR.

The proof will be what we do in the summer.

What do you think we’ll need in the summer? Our work this month has certainly taken some pressure off for the summer.

Obviously, a lot is dependent on Tommy. Barring any other losses, three or four incoming should sort us.

With Nahki, Tommy and Cornick as our current CF options, could we see a full change up front? Sounds expensive.

If there’s an option (still seems tbc on that, city not mentioning, Belgian club say so) it makes more sense then just we have him for 4 months. Raekwan Nelson has been in squads and done extremely well in 21s, would’ve been absolutely comfortable and excited to see him blooded more between now and season end. Likewise the same with Yeboah to get more minutes like he did earlier in the season. Especially as the season could well be fizzling out. Very unlikely they are seen again this season, as an example.

Option changes things, as I say, and he hopefully ends up being a worldie, but I personally get more joy out of seeing the gradual blooding and development of our own youngsters vs having them ‘signed over’ for more short term reasoning.

Not a complain or any of this “moan if we sign someone moan if we don’t” tosh that gets thrown around. That’s just me.

Westerlo wouldn’t have said there’s an option if there’s not. Though it is odd that we haven’t said so.

What concerns me is that once again it seems like we tried to rush another player back and that caused him to have a set back.

What the **** are you on about? Today is the first league game since match day 3 that Twine hasn’t appeared in. Shut up, fool.

Ok, maybe not the team we wanted to see. But it’s still a good XI imo. We need to win tonight, keep us in touch with the playoffs after no league wins in 4… we’re due one. You reds.

Twine is injured. Maybe what we deserve for doing a silly, expensive loan with no option!

Backwell leaves the MD20 as Williams comes back in after suspension.

    Injured:

    Atkinson

    Naismith

    Benarous

    Twine

    Sykes

Says who, or are you just presuming?

That’s very cramped. It needs a hole cut into the back of the stand and the camera platform built over the walkway behind

Yeah, likely the easiest and cheapest fix. Maximum of 50-75 odd seats lost as well.

Lovely to see a bit of spite and gamesmanship from someone in our shirt for a change.

An absolute menace. Done them like a kipper for the sending off and he does not stop chirping either.

By the way, what a refreshing game without VAR. Added to it and loved the way the players went about it with freedom living on the edge.

    How it should be.

None of our games have VAR. In fact, the only game we have ever played with VAR was the reverse fixture.
