  1. Id keep james too, king and williams should be allowed to leave with tgh coming in as a starting midfielder with knight, ideally with a creative midfielder who can get some goals.
  2. Agreed, this place can be pretty miserable,,, my 14 year old lad loves city and is starting to browse on here,, im trying to encourage him not to join so he doesnt have to deal with the “must be the school holidays” type comments, or worse when he makes a reply that certain people dont agree with… this thread is full of petty b.s,, we might be city fans, but people going through the posting history of other posters to find something to rub their nose in from 5 years ago is embarrassing, and this being held responsible for their comments under a previous username, theres a big world out there, people have all sorts of personal opinions and situations in life which might influence their thoughts at a particular time,,, having to “own” their comments made 10 years ago on a bristol city fans forum is a pathetic comment to be making.
  3. As ever, if theres a way to balls it all up, we do it… im waiting for someone to come out and say why the top 6 squad and the brilliant new manager couldn’t manage more than 1 shot against qpr.
  4. I think the time has come where we move on from wells and weimann when possible, those contracts could be better used elsewhere!
  5. Yes,,, was just trying to read up on it…. Indeed that is a very respectable call up,,, excellent news!! For those of us of a certain age. Watching sam bell is like watching your friends son come in and play for the club, very proud of him!
  6. This is great news,,, but what exactly is the elite squad? Like a B team?
  7. I suspect that was the reason for the loan. West brom covering his salary while we paid a loan fee which comes out of a different pot?
  8. But we do have bad injury problems, and when they are injured they tend to stay out for a while. The mccrorie situation, we dont know exactly what it is, but there was probably a month of toing and froing before the operation. Conway felt his hamstring in game 1 when he came on and stayed on, as did vyner when he did his, and weimann felt his knee before he wrecked it too if I remember rightly, and i think i recall kalas doing something similar with his shoulder and staying on, and we have lost james and williams for periods too. Not sure if time off reduces their performance, but i dont believe that every case has been handled as well as it should have been, which considering rennie is some high end specialist, well it should have been quite frankly.
  9. Its the idiots in charge saying we have a top 6 squad that have put the pressure on… with their squad and choice of manager someone needs to be resigning if the top 6 isn’t achieved!
  10. Are you sitting next to a mirror?
  11. Is it just clubs whose value could be affected on the stock market if a key employee was to leave? Which presumably oxford united isnt??
  12. Lampards recent record is obviously horrific,, but chelsea and everton were and continue to be in absolute free fall, i dont know who could have turned them around in that time? And in terms of footballers, he is probably one of the brighter ones around, and would certainly attract players and profile.. whether hea a good fit for us or not i dont know, a superstar footballer appointment isn’t something weve tried before.
  13. Yes,,, and will tinnion be fired for not employing the correct manager to get our top 6 squad into the top 6?
  14. They are clueless, im sure it wouldn’t really be a surprise!
  15. Love michael laudrup playing videos, one of my all time favourites, incredible footballer,, one of my alltime other favourites is batistuta, now that would have been a combination to behold, luckily we have mehmeti and cornick to replicate them.
  16. Disagree, i would have thought that having a playing culture from the top down is a good thing if you then recruit for that culture? Liverpool do it with their press and fast attack, man city have their possession and tactical flexibility, swansea have done it for years, and clubs all over the world do it too. Luton wouldn’t have a highly physical playing style then recruit someone like Michael laudrup as manager when he was a much better match for the type of football swansea were looking to play when he joined them. The fact it took the lansdowns 20 odd years to figure this out is what the problem is!
  17. They have all played in the prem, even won cups,,, weve done nothing and are still shite! I would swap!
  18. Im sure they are stupid enough
  19. Cant agree,,, we all know whose club this is,,, if the coach was still LJ and he had a great personal relationship with SL, then whatever tinnion thought about it would have no consequence. tinnion apparently has no aspiration to be the new manager but if he wants the power to run the football side, then if hes part of the team bringing players in, selecting managers and is telling the lansdowns we have a top 6 squad then he had better find someone to actually get us there, or he will be found out by next may.
  20. I think we all know the main reason nige is gone is that he and the owner dont get along and there was only going to be 1 winner with that… i could quite understand that nige might be a pain to deal with too, but the other stuff is just bullshit. i would say though that some of the replies about instilling a philosophy on a playing style to a new head coach,,, good luck with that,,, thats what they should have been doing for the last 25 years,,, for jl to now come out and say this is the style they are recruiting for is embarrassing…. Instilling a style has worked for luton and swansea, and plenty of other clubs, so to recruit for that now is common sense.
  21. No one has still explained how a club that finished 14th last year, and sold its best youth player in decades while signing a couple of lads for 1-2 million and having 1 keeper who has ever played a championship game was suddenly supposed to be pushing for promotion? If tinman really believes that then we are even more screwed. In the unlikely event that we dont finish in the top 6 with no new signings in January and the new manager of their choosing, i assume he and the lansdowns will take responsibility for their decisions and resign?
  22. That was back in the good humans era
