  1. Yes, schumacher has done a hell of a job, we ought to have the funds to pay compensation, but he’s obviously only got about 12 games of experience in the championship?
  2. Definitely agree,, this has been brewing for weeks, im sure the appointment is lined up, i cant believe it wont be another balls up though!
  3. I cant think that tinnion holds that sort of power at the club,, he’s presumably making a pretty nice living at the club, and i have no doubt as to his affection for it… whether he has the experience to do that job in the championship is another discussion though.
  4. All the best to nige, hope his health position is sorted out soon, and he finds himself a good club in the future,he couldnt have done much more and was set up to fail after this summer transfer window
  5. Seems a bit harsh,,, he got wycombe up, and they gave everything they had, but were unable to compete,, and qpr have been a mess for a while now.
  6. Agree with this, but its easy to see why SL will have had enough after being left with the bill over covid, plus the losses on so many of the players, including the chelsea 3 plus fam. Seeing such poor results while spending out on some of those salaries with no income will have been galling,, while still completing the hpc plus that new arena. They have been his decisions but he must feel let down at what has been delivered for all that money too.
  7. Im pretty sure jon introduced it to steve before the first time it was used,,, though it was probably a formality, and to be fair no one has really had a problem with it until now, and given the amount spent, i dont really have a problem with it. At this point though not spending some of the scott money is ridiculous, to sell your 2 best players and finish 14th,,, what do we really expect nige to achieve?? weve all been saying that the beneficiary will be niges replacement, which it might be if we could pick someone competent to replace him… in the meantime though,, at best, we are looking at win 1 draw 1 lose 1, at least until some of the injured guys are back,
  8. First one was jaw dropping!! And we know in yhe euros next year southgate will have him sitting and make sure we play defensively
  9. We havent seen anything from him to think he will make any difference to us coming on as a sub
  10. You will probably get a big response to that message, but at this point i think we are wholly incapable of doing anything in the championship other than treading water, at best, and. Guardiola couldn’t get much more out of the players if he had a go at it.
  11. As a teenager i was invited to attend a physio course with buster back in the day, and martin scott would come in on his evenings off and observe,,, buster would point out muscle groups on scotts legs,, they were huge! He was a top player. I was obviously star struck being around him as a lad. i was also caught out in a john bailey wind up too,,, he was sat with his leg in a bucket of water with an electric pulse running through it to aid muscle recovery,,, buster invited us to put our hand in the bucket to see if we could feel the pulse, and cause i was closest i went first…. Old john is sat there looking at me like a lion eyeing up a gazelle,,, soon as my finger tips touch the water he shouts “bang” in my ear, i jump a mile, everyone has a good laugh!
  12. There is zero chance we would find a decent manager to offer it to in the first place!
  13. Eustace is a good shout, schumacher has done a great job too… and you would think robins would be a top choice if lansdown could get him.
  14. The only benefit is that we do pull out that barn stormer replacement and steve offers up the scott cash to build the squad up… but theres no way i would trust us to get it right, or for that cash to be available… i agree that it’s personal though, nige doesnt care about making that public and the lansdowns wont like him doing that!
  15. We just got 20 odd million in, and a much reduced wage bill,,, i doubt many would be surprised if some money was made available in January if a new manager was brought in!
  16. We have some idea that his job security is of some concern to nige, but he nor anyone else has said the attitude toward his health is an issue. coming from a background of fixed term contracts where if something happens with my health that affects my ability to work could result in me being fired, it clearly would be reasonable to not commit to a contract extension until this is all sorted out… with the best will in the world, giving someone 3 years and the next day they go off sick with a known issue, in any line of work, would be bad management. Not that im saying that niges health situation isnt serious and that he is the sort of character that would take advantage of it.
  17. Obviously I respect your views, but id say some of these ratings are on the generous side! I don’t mind tanner but hes lacking going forwards and weve spent a load on trying to replace him. Naismith too came in as one of our top earners and while theres been some moments of quality, the general consensus is that his best position isnt the one he was brought in for? Knight looks really good, but to call cornick a clear success is very generous! the quality of our own youth players has made the difference for us, certainly bell vyner pring and conway are probably our most valuable, not that we would ever sell them….
  18. Sad news,, the greatest england player ever
  19. You said you never met a celtic fan who didnt hold extreme views! It doesnt matter anyway its a conversation on a football forum.
  20. You said you havent met a celtic fan that doesn’t hold extreme views,, i said the british have victimised the irish and catholics, and a lot of other countries and religions, for centuries, so its no surprise people dont like us/ our ruling classes…
  21. What have the British ever done to the irish and catholic minorities!
