  1. 11:30 on main ITV. Awful scheduling vs 9pm as usual. Also noted there is no FA Cup highlights package on either channel. Poor.
  2. Get them to walk the last 300m into the ground every game. They can park the coach up on Winterstoke Road and have a leisurely stroll…..
  3. What was it like in the ground? On the red button the crowd noise from the start sounded more like a home match than away. WBA fans very quiet.
  4. I agree here. NP can’t not comment on it. If he throws O’Leary under the bus, he’s got to change based on his comments and reasoning for ditching Bentley. Keep Max in but with a view to a change on the bench maybe?

    Downsy

Not starting a new topic for him but just a comment after previous few games. Is it that difficult for him to look at the board being held up for subs and read out two corresponding names? Anytime we make a multiple substitution I’m sure he just either misses one entirely (did he only announce 2 of our triple sub earlier?) or he just completely mangles player names.

    Runners!

I entered Brighton for April 2020 and was bang on track. Then covid. Deferred it when it returned in Autumn 2021 as didn’t fancy a summer training. Then couldn’t do April 2022 due to a family event postponed from March 2020. So am - FINALLY - running it in April 2023… Laughingly I had originally intended to do Newport this October (before they bumped it) as a pace-test ahead of Brighton. Supposed to be quite boring for a lot of it, just back roads between Newport & Magor.

    Runners!

Those on Strava might have seen my moaning and complaints over recent weeks but for a wider discussion. Year on year my running distance has dipped, rolling 90 days this time last year was around 360 miles vs 260 miles this year on rolling 90 days. However on that I was managing to eek out a couple of 22/23 minute parkruns and just generally ticking along nicely. Up until maybe May this year I was still able to put some pace on, albeit flagging vs the year before. Since then? My legs just feel like lead constantly. Really heavy, struggling to get any speed or consistency into them. Constantly aching. No obvious reason why; just flagging. Any suggestions on how to try and reset myself? Do I just need to properly flush them out with some good stretching routine / sports massaging / foam roller etc? Build a proper base using proper sensible training & slow runs? Or is it just a cliff I’ve fallen off and can’t climb back up from?

    Catering prices

Reminded me of seeing this yeaterday https://www.theguardian.com/football/ng-interactive/2022/oct/04/david-squires-on-going-to-the-match-2022-ls-lowry
  10. Exactly. It’s play to the time, not play until your chance is up
  11. Typical that we should have got a penalty but scored anyway.
  12. It is really badly worded on the website. Season ticket holders have advanced access. However there are no usual seats reserved for season ticket holders. You can buy anywhere you like in any stand. But you are buying a fixed seat for the game. So if you are typically Dolman ST and want to sit in the South or Lansdown, buy a ticket there.
  13. Can’t you watch via Sky Sports website / app on your phone? It’s 7 seconds behind my tv screen but you would have the right picture and audio at least… or just tv picture and phone audio and mind the gap
  14. Well it’s good that the Sky commentary doing it off the tv from home is keeping us updated whilst his stream isn’t working… Red button is shocking.
  15. Commentary fine on SkyQ. few freezes and glitches. But I forgot the lag on it and got my phone notifying me of the goal well before the tv. Need to mute that!
  16. Nonsense decision. And you’d expect that if the funeral is next weekend, they’ll consider bumping all those as well.
  17. Midweek scheduling of some far away games is a deliberate ploy. https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/efl-chief-admits-long-distance-576621 For both parties here, they know away support will be lesser than say each of our games away to Watford (vaguely in the middle geographically). So a midweek Watford fixture would not be desirable for either club but a midweek Bristol/Norwich would be. There must be some logic applied which says the decrease in away fans who would travel Norwich<>Bristol in midweek is not offset by how many more would do it on a weekend.
  18. You can see from the proposed plans that certain buildings are having to be retained. If you look online at the portal, the old elephant/giraffe/now gorilla house is basically converted as it.

    2023 Contracts

There are far more players reaching the contract end across the divisions following the economic crunch for clubs post Covid. Wells / Martin / Bents & Kalas would see their next move as being a final move with a financially rewarding signing on fee as they’re all in the 30s (by end of contract for Bentley & Kalas). I suppose JD would be seeing how the club progress this season, he’s got the best chance for a move to step up a level and challenge himself more if we fall away for a lower midtable finish.

    Runners!

These for tarmac etc? I’ve never budged from my Nike Pegasus for general everyday running and they just seem to do me good … plus I can always pick up a pair every 6-12 months for about £55-60 in a sale which helps tick me along.
  21. All the social media stuff came up about his 100th game after Coventry, so make it 101 now
  22. So it’s to be believed that the club don’t film the games anyway? Training is so much based upon performance in games and individual clips personalised for players these days. To simply take a live stream of the footage as filmed by the club and broadcast it without a commentary isn’t arduous.
  23. Well if Rovers can score 4 on that pitch we need to score 5 else Pearson is out.
