  1. Yes we do. It was Bristol City. Both clubs having to agree on ticket pricing hasn’t been a thing for a few years now so it’s set by the home club without consultation.
  2. The lack of any attacking players on the bench also mean the opposition know a) how we are going to play from kick off and b) that we only change our style based upon the tiring players at our disposal. Good teams can easily try and game manage first half by getting Martin/Wells to chase down lost causes and then by 60 minutes they’re both shot. So we rely upon AW or someone like COD only to press and it’s easy for them to just push us back.

  4. Arguably the right length to try for a fee then. Shorter and we would have to let him go on a season long loan and hope his wages got covered. IF someone can be persuaded to take him on permanently in January, we’d hope to get a bit of a fee for him at least.
  5. Wells pressed no one and let their keeper set up their attacks with the ball at his feet just outside the centre circle. He was done.
  6. Because that is how to explain a period of time. Using predefined and understandable denominators. By your logic of excluding passages of time where we aren’t actively playing home games, we have only gone 16 days without a home win. Which is nice. What is everyone complaining about?

    Away team lineups

Why are the away team lineups no longer either read or even displayed on the screen? Is it not within our announcers gift to pronounce them? Not everyone has a smart phone in the ground which enables them to check the lineups themselves.
  8. Catering pricing is no different to any other ground of similar size - the casual punter won’t go and find a local pub / park wall to drink on. They’ll be attending a game at a football ground and embracing that experience. Plus the range of drinks available at Ashton Gate is superior to a lot of the rubbish basic bottled ranges we experience at away games around the country.
  9. Because of shyster owners. If football doesn’t learn from the ongoing failures of clubs, how many in the future will suffer the same fate?
  10. I don’t think I will ever need to change my profile picture. It’s been in place since Gary Johnson. It is baffling how we can bring whole new squads into this club year after year and yet manage to instil a capacity to concede late to gift points to opponents at home.
  11. At least - if SL wanted to - it’s a lot cheaper to address shortcomings with the women’s team. For the cost of one Nahki Wells (& a lot of persuasion) you could build an entire squad of elite players in an attempt to reach the top fast.

    Runners!

Because I’ve not thought of any other way to include it in conversation today so far… might as well post this here. Green Man Ultra completed on Saturday. Bristol is quite large when you circle it all….
  13. Went to cricket today on a rolled over ticket from Eng v Australia last summer. Shall not be returning to anything there for a while. Toilet provision awful for a known attendance. 15-30 minute queues for them. When rolling over ticket from 2020 to 2021 (ie not enforcing a refund) we were promised a £10 voucher to spend in the ground. Two days before they changed this to a £10 ticketmaster credit on future games. Without discussion. Can’t help the weather - although abandoning the game at 4pm when it was sunny not much later and bone dry outside by 530 suggests the ground itself just isn’t cut out for hosting anything with ambition. All in a “meh” experience
  14. Nah. It’s giving him a nice platform
  15. High tackle to win that surely.

  19. Upper Lansdown has lots of 2/3 blocks. I looked and was tempted but not for £50 really.
  20. Seems like it will be going to general sale today. Surprised.
  21. Well in January 2019 I was told he was heading off to Chelsea (& The Sun said £1m). So has his value gone from £1m largely unproved and turned down in Jan2019 to £3m with more 2nd tier experience now? Don’t seem the right numbers to me

And it also now auto tags your location, which helps. I (used to) travel with work and would manually have to bang locations into the description to find stuff later. Which was annoying. Being able to search / filter by distance etc is such a basic function it’s baffling it’s taken so long!

    Runners!

Oh I like the summer. Going out last year for long sunset runs for two hours at 7pm were delightful. But that was just bimbling around, largely exploring Gordano Valley and footpaths through fields. Having to do targeted runs at pace in the summer seems tiring already!
