  1. He’d build sand castles and get Holden to look for the attacking POMO round his moat
  2. She will present when Hugh (who is dull on The Times podcast and dull on TV) doesn’t present.
  3. Why is the Huddersfield chap down and wasting time injured rather than just getting off the pitch? They won’t get all that time back and have just wasted maybe 2 minutes of their chance to equalise. Bizarre.
  4. They’ll just yo-yo in the league. One season relegation flirts, one season play off contenders.
  5. Ditching the Portishead station is in line with the approaches being taken for ticketless trains etc. For an end of line station, it really wouldn’t be needed. There’ll still be options for any coffee etc concession to be housed in a pop up function (loads of shipping containers going to be going spare down harbourside soon….). But would removal of station building enable the platform itself to run on the existing track alignment? It’s double tracked as it edges to Quays Avenue so surely space for a basic platform to be put up? Saves them a fortune in not realigning the existing roads as well then. Car parking surely is a requirement for Portishead to reduce stress on adjacent residential streets. And brings in revenue.
  6. Still only allowed to make subs at 3 points in the game though. So can bring on 2 / 2 / 1 at a time and not 5 subs 2 minutes apart Half time doesn’t count towards that count tho
  7. Plenty of the line between Portishead & Pill was surveyed in quite some detail after being cut back last year. Given that this is the section which can almost be “done” without fitting into the access windows and starts to run alongside the port … you’d hope it is quite easy to get a plan in for commencing quickly if needed.
  8. What will be the bigger regret- That we didn’t cash in on the PL clubs after Marvin Brown for £10m or that Louis Britton wasn’t a Bristol City player when he lifted the World Cup?
  9. My main concern with it is that no one has considered the air miles involved in shipping 14,000 of these over to Barbados for Jon boy to sign before shipping them back.
  10. https://theathletic.com/3436798/2022/07/23/why-some-teams-wont-have-their-kits-in-time-for-the-new-season/?source=user_shared_article For City to launch their kits early and with stock is really going against the trend it seems…
  11. Strike action- https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/jul/14/train-drivers-at-eight-uk-operators-to-strike-on-30-july-aslef?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other Best everyone chip in and charter a plane….
  12. I like it. There are only so many ways you can reinvent stripes
  13. I saw someone wearing it yesterday across a crowded venue. I wasn't expecting to see it but it does look good out and about in person…

https://theathletic.com/3381919/2022/07/03/charlton-bristol-city-jason-euell/?source=user_shared_article Good article. I’d copy and paste it but on my phone and that’s near impossible

    Alex Scott

Alex Scott benefits from being a regular player in the second tier with PL interest in him. He’s played more first team games than all the Elite academy players combined (right?). He can go into this game knowing that he is just demonstrating his ability to already interested suitors who would be quite confident he can step up. All the others at Man City / Chelsea etc approach these games as something they can use to just get another 3-4 year contract on ridiculous wages whilst they never get a proper move and continue the lower league / European second tier loan merry go round.
  16. Good article in The Athletic here about Jay Spearing at 33 turning down a contract with Tranmere to return to Liverpool and coach their academy kids - but with the mentality that he will be a registered player and available to play in academy games as well (although obviously not in the first team PL 25 man squad. It shows a good transitional path available to players as they start to consider the end (Andy King?) whilst benefiting the younger generation

    Jason Euell

Still no reference to Andy King taking up any coaching position. Is he in the footage abroad?
  18. Anyone know how he sets up his teams? You would think if they play in a way that Man City approve of, Pep will be happy for players to go on loan to a manager he clearly rates as a person.
  19. So instead of showing the welcome “hellos” to players as they turn up, you reckon the media team chap would’ve uttered a “******* hell. Didn’t expect you back here Tyreeq!” and left it on the cutting room floor. maybe next time they do an Instagram with “who do you want to see” question box I’ll spam them demanding Bakinson
  20. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_owners_of_English_football_clubs There are a lot of shady people on that list. People who’ve owned clubs for a lot lesser time and ripped clubs apart, driving them to financial ruin and allowing stadiums to decay and need desperate TLC. Bristol Sport might have income generated through non footballing streams these days but as a whole, it makes it a more attractive purchase than some ramshackle club without any decent infrastructure or off pitch setup.
  21. Apologies if it has been covered and I missed it, but does anyone know who the mystery benefactor who paid for May’s wages was? Price of Football podcast comment today that said individual is known to them / journalists but not publicly named. Gave the money to CK but has since apparently asked for it back after it all fell through.
  22. Not really. if you spend that much on someone (transfer fee + wages + inevitable agents fee) you’ll want to a) spread it over a longer period AND ensure you have a long enough contract that when he fulfils his promise (reveal: he didn’t) you’ve got contract leverage to make someone come in with big money
  23. Andy King is liking the club Instagram stories about the first day back, so he’s not burned any bridges yet!
  24. Surprised there still hasn’t been anything further announced about this. I guess end of June is the usual “contract end” point so if we are doing something in full season criteria, maybe that’s the point? Just seems arbitrary though if so. Saw that he got married last weekend - doesn’t seem to have been a full on footballers wedding, not seen anything shared by any other footballers nor do I recognise any on the social media posts!
  25. He can stay where he currently lives then rather than moving to Wales. Good contract for him
