Well played lads!
One game at a time......
Red Alligator. "Sunny Stockwood" I remember sitting on the wall at the edge of the beer garden at the Concorde pub late 70s during summer. I was back there in 2020 and a few pints in the bar.

Unfortunately, all sports carry risk and when a player in any sport is injured it is not good. However overhead kicks in football will always be great to watch unless it results in an injury of course.

I will always remember when Ray Cashley our goalie scored a goal. It was against Hull City in 73. I was at Ashton Gate with my dad, and it was a very cold and foggy night match with high winds. Hull had the advantage in the first half and we had the advantage in the second half. Cash got great distance with every kick in the second half as he had the strong wind behind him. He kicked out from the East End of the ground, and I was with my dad behind the goal in the open end. I remember to this day the ball from Rays clearance bouncing just in front of the Hull goalie, the ball bouncing over his head and the ball going in the net. At first there was some silence and then a fantastic roar as like me this was something different and I think no one actually believed what occurred.
We went on to win that night 3-1 and were either second or third in Division two at that time. Booby Gould and the sticks Ritchie were the other scorers for us that night.
I did not miss a home match at Ashton Gate that season. I was not yet a teenager that season, and around ten or eleven years old. 73/74 were glorious years, and I will always remember those early years at Ashton Gate in the 70s.
I for one am quite excited for a good and solid home win against Hull next Saturday as we are doing well and NP now seems to have all the jigsaw puzzle pieces in place, however there is still more work to go with the current players he has.
Next Saturday should a hard fought but a positive win in front of probably 20,000 of you lucky ones attending Ashton Gate.
I should be able to live stream the match against Hull and also the Man City one most probably will be live on "be in sports" in OZ.

It already has.
These people own PSG, that country already owns Man City. Newcastle owned by a country that executes minors, women & the disadvantaged every single day.
What a total ******* shitshow football has become at the very top, repressive regimes sportwashing their reputation by buying these clubs.
Steve Lansdown can frustrate me at times but I’d genuinely rather be Championship also rans under him than accept money from these people.

If anyone knows this forum will! Finished work and have the chance for 7 - 14 days nice'ish Holiday - possibly Sept/Oct 2023 before I get even older or shuffle off this mortal coil - plan was somewhere warm by the beach but also with a town or local bars nearby - so not stuck on beach all day or on a massive resort only - had a few suggestions such as Mexico, Morrocco, Carib, Sardinia etc but losing the will to live looking on the internet and never been anywhere like this before
Seems some of these places you do not visit during Sept/Oct and some will be just a beach and swimming (fine if you want that). Happy to use local Bus or Train (not drive) but has anyone been anywhere they know is warm, has the beach and sea but also not far from a town or markets or little day trips to historic places?
Pop in for a beer. I also have dry Blackthorn in the fridge.Popular Myalup Beach in the state’s south west offers a perfect opportunity to relax on the pristine white sand and soak up the famous Western Australian sun. Take a dip in the refreshing Indian Ocean or build sandcastles with the children on the beach.
Fishermen will enjoy the convenient beach fishing where you can try for popular fish such as Bream, Tailor and Yellow Fin Whiting.
Visitors to Myalup Beach can gain a perfect vantage spot on the sand dunes to watch dolphins playing in the ocean just off the coast and witness the magnificent Western Australian sunset.
Myalup Beach is a half hour drive from Harvey and two hours drive south of Perth.- 1

Our longest trip of the season at circa 295 miles each way from BS3. Huge shout out to the traveling Cider Army. Remember you cannot take any coins in with you, you will be searched, coins removed and given to charity.
Will be a noisy afternoon Sunderland have a league-leading average home attendance of 38,614.
We last met them back in August for our first home game of the season, which they won 3-2:
Our record over the seasons - won 17, lost 16 and drawn 14. Over the years there have often been a fair few goals when we’ve played each other. In both the FA cup in 1964 and the League cup in 1990 they beat us 6-1 and more recently (2018) we were 3-0 up at half time at Ashton Gate and it finished 3-3 (we scored two ogs that day) and that was only thanks to Fielding pulling off a worldie to deny them a fourth!
On Tuesday they won 3-0 away to QPR. They are eight points better off than us.
Edouard Michu will be available for them with Tony Mowbray leaving the French midfielder out of the squad entirely for the QPR match because he wanted him to have an opportunity to get some proper rest.
After a busy few weeks Mowbray said: "There'll probably be one or two changes but there won't be wholesale changes. I'm mindful of the fact I'd like to get back to Saturday to Saturday then you can manage wellbeing throughout the week.”
One of those changes could see Amad Diallo reinstated to the starting side after he was left on the bench for the trip to Loftus Road. Niall Huggins, who has made just two appearances in all-competitions this season, will be eased back into the side.
Long-term absentees Ross Stewart, Corry Evans and Elliot Embleton all remain absent for the Black Cats. Mowbray also provided an update on Lynden Gooch, revealing he is on the road to recovery but is still a few weeks away. “It's not a long-term injury,” Mowbray said. “It will be another couple of weeks I think."
Of course LJ had a stint there as head coach. He was appointed on 5 December 2020, following the departure of Phil Parkinson. He signed a two and a half year deal with the club. On 14 March 2021, Sunderland won the 2021 EFL Trophy Final, beating Tranmere Rovers 1–0 courtesy of a goal from Lynden Gooch. After a short run of poor results and a heavy defeat (6-0) away to Bolton Wanderers Johnson’s time at the Stadium of Light came to an abrupt end and he was replaced by Alex Neil.
They appointed former Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray as their new head coach on a two-year deal in August. The 58-year-old replaced Alex Neil after he left to take over at Championship rivals Stoke City.
On deadline day they signed Everton defender Joe Anderson for an undisclosed fee on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
Players who have represented both clubs include: Martin Scott, Stern John, Mick Harford, Dickie Rooks, Adam Matthews and Bailey Wright.
They are known as the black cats. The official explanation for the nickname from the club is that it is after the Black Cat Gun Battery in the city, named after a mysterious black cat in 1805. The second theory is that it is after a lucky black cat found in the team's dressing room in 1909 that was said to be responsible for turning the club's fortunes around at the time.
Among their well known fans are Emeli Sande, Peter O'Toole, David Miliband, Steve Cram and Paul Collingwood.

COYR!
Just looking at the betting sites and most are predicting a draw.
Sunderland has a positive home record, but it’s nothing to write home about. Out of 15 games, they have only won 6: strangely, they are the better away team. Because of Bristol City’s current streak and because they are not so strong at home, we believe they will draw, which is in the interest of both teams to keep winning.
Prediction: Sunderland 1-1 Bristol City.
Those of you taking the long trip enjoy yourself and keep safe.

I mean you have missed the point by an absolute country mile there if based on the time reference that I don't even know what point you're making.
If it's a point on Mickey Bell specifically then, yeh, I dunno if he belongs in a Hall of Fame for Bristol City. There's an argument for him probably, but let's face it we've not exactly been anything more than an average top L1/bottom Championship side on average.
But yeh, you'd probably two or three better LBs who should be there ahead of him
Brian Drysdale to name one

Loren Dykes, Corinne Yorston and Gary Johnson can now be added to the list.
The list of names certainly brings back some great memories. There are quite a few from the old 1st division days. All were great players in various years and great history of our club.

I think setting up the way they did Wigan would have ground out a point at pretty much any other team in the Championship tonight. Not a pretty game to watch but we didn’t lose it. We looked quite likely to go on and win it after they scored as well. Still signs of progress tonight if not as emphatic as recent weeks.
Just had to google emphatic. means "expressing something forcibly and clearly" You must of attended a better school than me. Agree there were many positives to be taken from the highlights that I looked at.

Compare the Wigan dead ball delivery with ours and it was chalk and cheese. We haven’t got anybody who can take a decent corner or free kick. James - hopeless; Scott - inconsistent; Naismith - woeful. It’s not even the hardest thing to practice. Such a waste of good opportunities because of the poor delivery.
Not since Clive Whitehead

Assuming we don’t get promoted which of these would you prefer facing next season?
Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Ham United
Leeds United, Everton, AFC Bournemouth, Southampton.
I think West Ham and Everton will stay up in the Prem so we will play them next season wont we.

I have used digital tickets before at a couple of grounds where I went as a neutral but saying people whose phones run out of battery can't attend is completely unreasonable I think. Needs to be alternatives as already stated.
Your car, or taking a bus, coach and trains all have charging points.

You could always buy a smartphone. I thought I was one of the last if the dinosaurs to buy one 5 years or so ago. My latest one cost £75 it's not exactly a life changing decision.
So true Sir Geoff, I had to get my grand daughter 7 years old to set up my smart phone with the apps and stuff. My grand daughter even has a smart watch she calls me on. Technology seems so easy for kids.

So what do you do if you don’t have a smartphone?
The alternative to a paper ticket was a reprint.
Don’t get me wrong as I said above I’ve been onside with it for years but there’ll be some that just don’t have smartphones.
Asda probably has a basic smart phone cheaper than a printer that comes with ink and a pack of A4 paper

I know people who don’t have a smartphone.
I get that it’s simpler but there should be an alternative availableTotally agree with you but unfortunately the way we always did and do things are changing dramatically. There is a massive cost saving for ticket booking companies world wide by going totally electronic and digital.
Even booking flight tickets I request soft copies (print outs) but was told they would not be accepted at check in at the airport for security reasons. We have to show the bar codes of our flight tickets at the airport and when we check in we get another notification sent to us with our digital boarding passes.

Why some footballers 'choke' during penalty shootouts: Brain scans reveal those who miss are overthinking the consequences of missing the shot
- A penalty is one of the most pressurised individual events in all of sport
- There have been many high-profile misses such as Southgate at Euro '96
- Researchers found some people activate the pre-frontal cortex in their brain
- This is responsible for long-term thinking and leads to nerves and apprehension
- People who trigger this region of their brain are more likely to fluff their attempt

Why ? It' s the way all tickets will be in the future. One of the drivers behind it is to stop ticket touting. Most concert tickets have been digital only for a couple of years now.
Last week booked a train ticket locally in OZ. Our tickets were sent to our mobile phones and we scan the bar code for access to the train. Looking at flights now for a visit back later this year to the UK. Have been advised my airplane ticket, car hire at heathrow will be by bar code. This is now accepted world wide im afraid.

Most sit coms these days are embarrassing, as they aren't funny, so he'll be in good company.
I much prefer stand up.
I find Joe Lycett hilarious. Eddie Izzard was fantastic live. Both very clever comedians.
If I do watch any sitcom's it will be repeats of stuff from the past.
Mrs Slocombes wet pussy still makes me giggle.
Inbetweeners, Little Britain, Fast show... brilliantly written and highly amusing.
I remember a few years back and we watched all the episodes of open all hours over a bank holiday weekend. British comedy back then with faulty towers and many others were the best and most enjoyable to watch and brings back so many memories.
