In his (repeated claims) over the last 2 years or so , when talking about Antoine , Alex , Sam and Tommy , about the ‘next lot’ ‘are even better’ At no point did I get the impression he was talking about 14/15 year olds or players at U18 level , although the reality appears to be that is the situation

I don’t think it’s a recent addition / program but just catching it by accident on Sky Id highly recommend it as a watch , a truly engaging character and hilarious and revealing about some ex teammates (Frank LeBoeuf ) And whither you like Gary Neville or not , he’s excellent doing this sort of thing A highly recommended watch if you can pick it up

Max is an interesting one and more and more I’m convinced that something about Max’s look or presence gives a (false) overall ‘impression’ of him And yep , makes the odd error as every keeper Hes a lean lad , like many keepers but it’s simply a thing about how naturally we stand or walk , some have ‘a presence’ , a look that in reality has no actual relevance to ability I think it may have tinged my own thoughts about Max for a long while , but you have to say if you put that aside , that there aren’t too many keepers that are actually better than him at this level - some may ‘appear’ to be the part , have the look and can impress ... but better ? His positioning for example is as good as anyone at this level IMO

Noticed , watching the goals this morning just how much in the moment he was excited by all three goals and his obvious delight for the scorers Sam and Harry particularly Thought his reaction was very naturally revealing on camera and really good and says a lot about him Looked like that City Fan living the dream , even though he wasn’t the scorer or focus of attention

A Professional and Competent Referee , having now seen footage of the incident and the complete error in the decision Should IMO being including in his report that he has since seen footage of the incident and it is clear he made an obvious error and that the yellow card should be rescinded. I don’t know what the official protocols or guidance are to officials. ** Or like some excellent refs in local football would book you , especially in cases of dissent , but at the end of the match grin and whisper ‘won’t be putting it in , but calm it down in future eh’

That complete k*** ‘Curtis’ was the epitome of the entitled jumped up football fan and was simply an embarrassment His mate in the car ‘shouted out c*** twice and the call was binned and ‘Curtis’ later rung back in a 2nd call. , how he was some sort of superfan for actually going to the away game , was then extremely dismissive and rude to a fellow Saints fan who was far more balanced as ‘he hadn’t attended the game live so couldn’t have an accurate opinion ‘ The ultimate k***

It’s become a different world Twenty years ago ‘data’ (If manager was lucky enough to have any) would have consisted of some basic diagrams with a few arrows in biro on some pieces of paper drawn by a coffee sipping scout sat in the cold. Data & analysis has to be one of the biggest changes in the game in recent decades Its fascinating as a fan to see some of this data a totally different angle and insight into what’s actually happening
