  1. Want us to look organised, well drilled and with a game plan, alongside attention to detail for set pieces.

Don't play any players that are deemed "not good enough" or "not on the bus".

Play some of the youngsters who are going to have to play next season by the sounds of it. Get them used to match days and performing at this level now.

    Depending on fitness -

                                                  OLeary

                                 Idehen     Atkinson     Klose

                    Tanner                                               Pring

                                    Owers                Scott

                                              Weimann

                                    Conway            Martin

    Decent chance that.

    Kalas

    Bentley

    DaSilva

    Cundy

    HNM

    and obviously Palmer

Will be gone in the Summer - IMO.

I haven't been particularly impressed by Matty James but i do wonder if he's another victim of the lack of identity we have as a team.

We don't play with any width and we tend to be under a lot of pressure in most games we play, so it can't be easy for our midfield to dominate a game.

Just like Joe Williams, he was highly rated by his previous club, so he may well be a better player than he's been able to show with us.

he was highly rated by his previous club, so he may well be a better player than he's been able to show with us.

And this is exactly the problem, we have a mid table Championship squad ability wise but the team constantly performs like a mid table League 1 side.

Wiemann is a notable exception and his performances (combined with points deductions) have kept us out of the bottom 3.

In my opinion, yes, quite a bit worse, if you consider ability level, depth and balance (overall)…notwithstanding the lack of funds to put right quickly.  If it had one of those thre components…balance in particular, I’d expect a bit more than I’ve seen.  Pearson is trying to run as lean as possible to save money…and stay up.

He is underperforming with a mid table Championship squad.

But then you do state that Luton have a better squad than City so not taking your opinion seriously.

If you think other clubs will let it go then you are mistaken especially if there is a major tax reduction- can see significant pressure by other clubs on the EFL to put them under a strict business plan and yes if one bit of the Insolvency is out of place then -15 is a must.

The Agreed Decision I would suggest the EFL can use to tighten those strings. :)

I'd sooner Derby went bust than the EFL's Insolvency and out of administration requirements were compromised in all honesty. If things get complex and Kirchner doesn't like the requirements, tough.

It's not a personal dig at Derby, more a longstanding view that the EFL's requirements are more important than any one club. No club has a right, or an automatic right to League membership.

There is reference to a cross-class cram down. That would 100% bring about a further deduction.

I'm being a bit deliberately inflammatory but the point is the EFL need to apply without fear or favour in full force. The EFL have a lot of leverage at their disposal, for the integrity of the game it is imperative that they don't waver.

Think you are going to be surprised and disappointed.

That’s any interest suggestion that’s not raised very often, if at all. I suppose it depends on how many players wanted GL out. If it was one or two, SL could have supported GJ. If was most of the team it would have been difficult to keep the manager and sell a lot of players.

Once you lose the players you are finished, cannot come back from that. They have to believe in what you are doing and why.

That's why -  "respect needs to be earned and not just given"

The days of shouting players into compliance are long gone.

  6. A team that was more than the sum of it's parts.

Players where signed to fit the system,

    Dynamic and detailed coaching.

There was an actual game plan and style of play.

    Motivated players enjoying their jobs.

    Entertaining/attacking football.

The stuff that dreams are made of.

he didnt look stressed yesterday driving past the sawyers at 5.0 oclock with his roof down,  looked pretty chilled out picking his nose?

Not sure why he would be stressed.

Got himself into a position where "coasting and failure" is acceptable.

I’m a forum where we very often fall out, the above brings a lovely ‘warm inside’ feeling. You can be proud of yourselves there boys.

Anyway, I’m back off to the “on this day in 2015” thread where I’m undoubtedly gonna fall out with some over Cotts/LJ. ?

    LJ was great.

    From today.

Good to hear him say things like this - more of it please.

His reputation has dipped. If it hadn't he wouldn't be with us, he has only ever managed at BIG clubs and now he is at a small fish in a big pond for the first time in his career at this level.

If a top job came up in the champ how many owners would be chasing Pearson, not many after Derby and BCFC.

Of course his reputation has "dipped" possibly "plummeted".

How that is even up for debate is ludicrous.

He is managing at a bottom quarter Championship side and is statistically their worst manager in 20 years.

Kalas’s fee (should be be sold) is likely to be dependent on a number of factors, e.g. who buys him and from what League (home or abroad), whether he wants to stay here and the contract offer we can make, etc, etc.

I think he will move in the summer.  @petehintonmade me wobble a bit last week, but I think it’s a position Pearson wants a specific ball winning defender for, and Kalas - as good as he is - is a different sort.

I’m impatient for summer contract and transfer news. ?

Kalas will move for several reasons.

He will have no shortage of offers from here or abroad. I sometimes think we're as a fanbase are well hard, cynical , scathing on our players to the point where we have this bias about thinking that because they play for us and we're currently rubbish, they must also be rubbish.

Soon to be 29 in contract defender masses of Champ, and international experience will certainly be a draw.

He's got promoted twice from this league as well.

    See also @petehinton post.

Why on earth would he stay here ?

Total dead end currently and in the near to medium future.

Total waste of his career when he will get offers elsewhere.

Kalas and Bentley must want out you would think.

Wacaday swinging his mallet about again ?

The truth is like Kryptonite to the sycophantic fan boys.

We are in the bottom 6 of the division which is the bottom quarter of the Division.

It was implied, incorrectly that we are in the bottom third to give the impression that we are doing better than we are.

    Classic Happy Clapper spreadsheet move.

  14. 16 minutes ago, HappyClapper said:

We are actually in the bottom third and the bottom quarter. We are also in the bottom half. Apart from that I agree with the rest of your post.

Brilliant, gets more and more ridiculous every day.

    Pure Cultism.

Whilst I made a similar point on a previous page, I also see other teams who can pass it, but not go anywhere with it, have no cut and thrust, etc.

Ultimately / selfishly it’s about getting players to the first team.  Failing that, it’s getting them pro careers.  Failing that, it’s giving them direction for a career outside of the pro game (whatever that may be).  Currently we are doing that part pretty well.  In some respects it’s helped by our current position, bottom third, rather than say top third…but there are big pressures on playing the kids whether you are top or bottom of the table.  They are currently saving us £££s, when £££s are hugely relevant.

We are in the bottom quarter not third.

But agree with the rest of this post.

Can’t argue with that . Done well to get those you’ve mentioned

We also take lots of kids from Cardiff and Swansea (our academy is better than theirs).

The Academy certainly isn't the problem here nor was the tens of millions we made in profit on transfers (fees only) during the LJ years. It was the way it was reinvested on cheaper versions of players that didn't work out and high salaries to mediocre ex prem players.

if things get a lot worse,i hope he would stick two fingers up and walk. i was surprised he didnt earlier in the season with his health issues, i cant for one minute believe he needs the money.  i also think we need to do everything possible to keep him as he is fully aware of how proper football clubs are run and capable of delivering if the full staff are towing the line.

something isnt right behind the scenes, i sometimes wonder if we are selling the points

Remember the case of the mysterious Press Conference that never was ?
