With regard to JL speaking out, last time he did that he got publicly shot down.

NP could have said at that time, "its because of you and your old man that this club is where it is and I'm working with your legacy".

"Six weeks to appoint DH, Ashton, LJs spending, poor recruitment, then you bugger off to Bermuda while your dad is in exile in the Channel Islands."

I don't think we'll be hearing from either of them until there is some good news, both haven't exactly played a blinder..

I hope Gould speaks out to say "NP is going nowhere - NP and me will sort their mess out for them."

The manager needs to concentrate on coaching the team better, that is what he is employed to do not sniping at the owners.

He has a mid table Championship squad at his disposal, right now and is underperforming in his job.

Except it wasn't "my word"- I didnt mention any such "miracle appointment".

If you want to quote me to illustrate a point then at least be accurate please. @billywedlock stated that he thought NP  "is doing a miracle" and I countered that "turning wine into water was a different type of miracle".

Your AW comments are comments taken from here- and certainly something I've never subscribed to- the fact that a small number of posters  used the old "just runs around a lot" has nothing to do with some amazing turn around for the player due to NP.

Perhaps from an entirely one dimensional view, NP has indeed achieved the goal required by many- to stay up and in isolation is enough.

In my opinion is that he hasn't galvanised the squad, the performances have been really poor and he hasn't shown enough to warrant a third season. I think we have a greater quality squad than our results and performances suggest and even admitted to by Nige in his post match yesterday.

It's all rather academic in that whatever you or I think has little relevance as to whether NP will be granted a third season. I dont think he should and I also believe that there will be other individuals who can take us forward and would be very happy to come here. NP is not the only man in Europe capable of making progress for BCFC.

Lots of embarrassed posters thrashing around for any excuse to justify their Cult like support for our worst Manager in 20 years.

    Thank you.

…and he’d have recruited a new one to replace it!!

How many times did we hear LJ say similar to Pearson, but using different words.  Luckily he had about 3 squads worth of “trusted ones” he could flip between when one set had met him down.

In fairness to Nige he has accepted some blame too.

Short memories indeed.  I did like some of the things LJ did, and if Ashton was really pulling the strings recruitment-wise, more fool LJ.

In fairness to Nige he has accepted some blame too. - Must have missed that bit of honesty.

Was it after the Sam Bell debacle ?

These stats are meaningless without context.  And your grasp of mathematics and the statistically significant are somewhat flawed.

    My point exactly.

They def can't play in a 2 for sure.

Got shot to pieces by the usual suspects when I said this months ago.

Probably a spreadsheet showing they are superb together somewhere.

I thought he played well at the start of the season. Since returning from injury he has struggled. His mobility is a problem and he does seem quite weighty. Both James and Williams were poor today. I expect more from them.

Should never be in the same midfield, not dynamic enough. The shot from Posh on 28 mins was a prime example, far to slow to shut it down.

Look like they are running in tar most of the time.

You could get away with one alongside a more athletic partner.

The idea that the Manager thinks you can pair them in midfield is a mystery.

A shade below par overall.  Had some good games before his foot injury, which then hampered him.  Been indifferent since his return.

Quite obviously his legs have gone.

Nowhere near Championship level as it stands.

I have a view on our current manager but I like good old fashioned stats so here are some about our managers which make some interesting reading. I’ve excluded temporary managers Coppell counts as temporary by the way. Millens temp stats only make him look better!

    win rate ranked

    Wilson 1, Cotterill 2, Holden 3, Gary J 4, Lee J 5, Tinnion 6, Millen 7, mcinnes 8, O’driscoll 9, Pearson 10

    loss rate ranked

    Cotterill 1, Tinnion 2, Wilson 3, Gary J 4, Lee J 5, Holden 6, O’driscoll 7, Millen 8, Mcinnes 9, Pearson 10

    Points per game

    Cotterill 1, Wilson 2, Gary J 3, Tinnion 4, Holden 5, Lee J 6, Millen 7, O’driscoll 8, Mcinnes 9, Pearson 10

Only one manager has a win rate at less than 25%, two managers have a loss rate over 50% and one manager has averaged less than a point a game!!

Admittedly some of these managers managed in league one however can we claim this is the worst squad we’ve had in comparison to the teams we play?

Interested in peoples thoughts and whether Mr Pearson wouldn’t be quite so popular if hadn’t had a successful period at one of his many clubs.

Can we have a multi coloured spreadsheet on this please !!

There would be a massive drop in ST sales if he came back. But it is the sort of mistake SL would make (again).

Hmmm not sure about that myself, with the already highly advertised relegation battle and the prospect of another season of this, they will be haemorrhaging ST sales as it is now.

Not saying it would be a good idea but disagree on lower ST sales as a reason.

Spot on... he's purely deflecting the blame from his own poor record. He can keep blaming everyone else and saying negative things about all and sundry, but ultimately he's the manager of our football club and it's his job to coach the players to produce performances and ultimately results. This group of players (individually) is not as bad as he would like us to believe. Its his job to coach them in to a cohesive, organised unit.

I am surprised by the continued support of him by so many on here. His record is truly awful but i think he has hoodwinked many fans with his regular niggly comments about players attitudes, poor club culture etc. Lets forget about mistakes made by Steve Lansdown for a moment and purely focus on what his job is.

The blame game can only go on for so long. I have very much been on the fence about Nige but i'm getting more disheartened by the week!

    I'll await the usual replies...

    Brilliant post.

And yes you will get shredded by the usual suspects.

Re this notion that Peterboro showed more desire or ‘wanted it more’. They are fighting for their lives, you would expect them to fight hard.

There are many things wrong with our performances, personally I think fear and low confidence are the main reasons. Not sure if we employ a sports psychologist any more but perhaps we should.

Constantly being belittled and slagged off by the Manager is not conducive to high confidence or morale to be fair.

He couldnt really be any further opposite to what i think SL prefers in his managers.
Hes got attitude and with todays comments about us being easy ( easy is my thoughts on soft, easy, nice BCFC too ), hes probably wound SL right up the wrong way.Said it many a time that pro football is cut throat, aggressive, demanding. We are not cut out within the club culture to manage any of these attributes. Far too easy at BCFC.

I wouldnt be surprised if NP is on gardening leave during the summer as SL’s toys may be well and truely out of his pram now that his club has been questioned by his manager.

You are aware he has been bombed out of several other clubs for this exact type of behaviour, right ?

  12. 25 minutes ago, AshtonGreat said:

His comments don't really make sense. He's essentially putting the blame on the players. But it's a manager's job to sort the players out.

    Crazy talk.

Didn't you get the memo ?

Sounds like he’s had enough to me - of the players and the owner.

You have to wonder who he’s blaming in terms of personalities/character (today’s performance) because of the 10 outfield players:

He signed Klose, Atkinson, James. He often praises Williams, Martin and Weimann. Scott is a youngster who he rates highly, Cundy is new to this level and Dasilva had a reasonable game. That only leaves Wells and the subs who came on. Who is he criticising?

Not himself is the key here.

  13. 5 minutes ago, petehinton said:

I have no idea what he’s on about anymore tbh.

Said that we need to change players in the summer that don’t have the right personality, today especially. Okay let’s dissect that:

Bentley - one of the best keepers in the league. Out the team now back in. Wouldn’t say he’s one of the ones NP is talking about.

Cundy - inexperienced player at this level. Went off at 1-0 up. Wouldn’t say he’s one of the ones either.

Klose - Pearson’s signing. Is the managers fault if he already doesn’t fancy him.

Atkinson - Pearson’s signing. Is the managers fault if he already doesn’t fancy him. also scored the goal.

JD - the only one with any shred of credit over the last 10 games or so. Bombed out the side now back in.

James - Pearson’s signing. Is the managers fault if he already doesn’t fancy him. NP said he’s the best midfielder he’s ever worked with. Can’t be him.

Scott - one of the best players we’ll ever produce. Would be in a world of trouble without him. Can’t be him.

Williams - NP has said how much he rates him. Coming back from injury. Can’t be him.

Weimann - can’t be him for a multitude of reasons.

    Wells - maybe him

Martin - as honest & experience as a pro could be at this level. Can’t be him.

So who the **** is the issue if it’s not the management and set up?

He does this constantly, throws nameless individuals under the bus to deflect.

The one that stands out as having all of the traits he moaned off today was Matt James, and he signed him FFS !

Yepp, as brilliant as we looked in L1, Cotterill's record as a Championship manager isn't especially good.

I think this is actually the bigger negative change that occurred - the restructuring of the club that saw our recruitment team damaged, and other key roles taken up by Ashton's mates.

Yepp, as brilliant as we looked in L1, Cotterill's record as a Championship manager isn't especially good = Fair point

Our current Manager hasn't set the world alight over the last 6 years either.

‘Passive’, ‘soft’, ‘losers’ all words that are regularly used by the ITK posters on here to describe our players, squad, Club.

Glad Pearson has somewhat belatedly identified a core issue. I’d prefer Bradley Dack’s (rejected), the Luke Ayling’s (moved on) of this world who consistently deliver, to the ‘good humans’  who consistently fail to deliver.

James was the poster boy for those comments today.

I don't think SL wants or can afford Premiership football at A G. Nige has spotted that and is now in a no win situation.
