I have to admit I was very anti-Cotts when he was appointed mainly because of his `abrasive` persona.
I`m happy to admit I got it totally wrong though.
Bit underwhelmed myself but soon became clear he had a plan, a clear way of setting the team up and an eye for an undervalued player to fit into his system.
The team always looked fit, well drilled, organised with immense attention to detail.
Always said "we" in press interviews and not "they".
Not sure of the details of how it all crumbled in the end but we looked brilliant when he was here.
But he has never taken a team into the Premier league.

Pearson knows how to get a club out the league the people above him don't. He's spot on in his interview he said they can sack me but the new man will still have the same problem. Bang on!!
That is an assumption and a self preservation tactic.
Oh he didn't disappoint.
Superb.

3 managers have failed with the same set of players. The common denominator is?
It was the managers before but now its the players is the bit that makes me laugh though.

Isn’t it the manager who takes responsibility if he can’t motivate the players?
Not this one.

Same. I can’t get on board with James. Just don’t see it at all. Williams today was worse but first start in awhile. Think he probably isn’t as good as we think. Maybe grasping onto the good stuff because he hasn’t played much and easy to look decent in our midfield this season.
Got shouted down by the usual characters for saying it before but a midfield two of James and Williams is not viable at this level.
Just not dynamic enough.
Spread sheet may try and suggest something different !

Both the main ones were on this thread pretty quick.
Be joined by the other two or three usual suspects very soon.
God forbid anyone having a different opinion.

Anyone know someone who could provide us with an insightful spreadsheet on that tactical master class ?

Lets get Phil Brown out of Barrow.
He took a team up into the Premiership years ago after all.

To be fair, I think some of us that wouldn't normally say much are starting to ask questions NR. I'm just a City fan.
Embarrassed sycophantic fanboys will be out with the usual apologetic nonsense again no doubt.

If he says how hard it is playing against 10 men I may have to reconsider my support for him.
He will certainly pick an individual to blame.

No idea, someone who can do the basics
We set up wrong first half, then didnt react after they had a player sent off.
I suspect there's going to be loud calls for NPs head tonight.
We are an absolute disorganised shambles when the other team have the ball. I can't believe this has gone on for months in a professional football team.

You do understand why they got deductions don't you?
You do understand how lucky we are that those point deductions were applied THIS season.

Relegation a certainty next season without a change.
No more excuses.

Still looking very much a Pub team without the ball.

Massengo for James a must for me.

Our CMs look they are running in tar most of the time and allowing far too many shots, mostly woeful shooting so far but have to think they will get at least 1 if allowed to continue to shoot at will.
Still liking my 3-2 win prediction.

Going to be out run in midfield, CHs are going to be busy BUT we should score more than them.
3-2 win.
Just now, petehinton said:Still very odd Kalas is nowhere to be seen, Pearson said he won’t be fully rushed and needs rest yet brings Williams straight back in. Planning for life without him?
House hunting ?

It is a waste but if you sold you could carry the wages and add new ones. Not ideal but you could do it.
Semantics on weimann, I only bring it up as a hypothetical. Would you sell a 30+ year old with one year remaining off his best season by far? Need t
Weimann will have decent offers for sure you would think, last big pay day, chance of promotion, Scottish title etc.
Big test of how much he likes Bristol.

They are so, so bad. Two great saves from Pickford saving them so far.
haha, right on time!
To be fair never saw what everyone else did in Pickford, over emotional flapper were my thoughts but -
Last 3 games I have seen he has been brilliant.
Also far calmer in demeanour and actions.

There are several flaws in this argument & not only that Weimann is 30, not 32..
The players apparently coveted aren’t remotely the high earners, so yes, we could sell HNM, Scott & Semenyo (provided we get good offers) though even £15m seems optimistic to me bearing in mind Prem clubs know our financial position.
We would then still be left with Wells, Kalas & Palmer on our wage bill pushing our forecast expenditure on wages above FFP & good luck with doing deals for them that don’t either see us subsidise their current wages for a year or would see us get virtually nothing back on the £16m+ they cost us.
If we do spend, it will only be because we have managed to shift at least 2 of that bottom group & sold 2 of the top one, but even then I would expect any fee to be more like Tanner than Atkinson.
Kalas won't be here.

Really can't decide which one of Everton v Man Utd I want to lose most.
Lampard was good player so must be a good coach ......... right ?

And between Sess and Mawson, they cost us £750k in loan fees and god knows how much in wages…especially Mawson.
Before Mawson got injured we were top of the league.
Sessegnon never looked like he wanted to be here (Kent !) and was a poor signing.
Not a fan of loans myself but the situation we find ourselves in they have to be in the mix.
Getting in the right ones is where a skilful and well connected Manager comes in.
