Palmer is a form, confident player and should be in the mix. Looks from the outside like a cool headed type which bodes well for the big summer occasion.
Meanwhile, every time I see Pickford he looks like someone who has had way too many espresso coffees before the game. A top keeper no doubt but he looks stressed on TV and whilst I like a keeper who barks out helpful shouts to his defence I worry a bit that he is too much on the edge during a difficult club season.
As for the 'it's my ball' penalty argument, what a farce. Like a bunch of 7 year olds, hence they should be treated as such. No hot chocolate for them before bedtime.

Having seen the stumbles by teams playing under pressure at the top of the 1st two divisions in recent weeks I was a bit frustrated to see we did not take an opportunity to play pressure-free football.
So few attempts on goal when it was a chance to try things almost risk free.

This is almost the angle I saw it from, and it is without doubt a penalty. Well done for capturing it Ani Harish
Good video, thanks.
Aside from the decision, a lot of empty areas by +10 mins!! Not really surprised TBH.
Also, a good pacy strike on the pen. Get some laces through it I say, a good strike.

They should have been displaying some club accreditation I would think, particularly in a family area?
All part of safeguarding?

I've watched it several times and have come to the decision , Pen .
We don't usually appeal that hard , ok late in a game chasing an equaliser may cause that.
The guy hardly moans , always a give away .
His arm is raised , naturally maybe , but his arm blocks the cross and the Ref has a decent view.
Undeserved , but I'll always take it.I can't see where the ball is but that still suggests the ref had a great view of it.

I try to look at these from the point of what would the defender prefer to happen if you could freeze time.
Would they really want to block a speculative cross and give away a pen or let the ball follow its path?
On that basis probably the latter. I am not saying the refs have it wrong but that the guidelines they follow are on the harsh side.
I think both the City and Bournemouth pens were hard calls. Yes things even out over a season or 2 but I would prefer the refs to give pens on what looks like something more deliberate.
Certainly if we compare constant grabbing fouls in the box by defenders as the ball comes over from a corner kick (that are wholly ignored) with having a ball kicked against an arm, the game could do with a re think.

Alcudia. Did Cala D’Or last year. Would like to be able to afford Tenerife as loved the north of that island a few years ago. Have you done Mallorca ?
The beach at Alcudia is one of the best anywhere in the med. Great sand, shallow warm water is good for children and non swimmers.
The resort is a bit too built up in places now but the bay is big and you can just walk and walk along the waters edge.
Have been several times.

Stockport and Wrexham got promoted today. Two more clubs that are far bigger than the s*gs enter League One.
A 3-1 win must mean an open top* bus tour of Bristol, right?
(* it wasn't going to be open top but apparently they used the bus roof metal for the new stand).

Will need a bigger ground if they keep this run up.

My Birmingham mate is very grateful for that finish, probably more so than many on here who want his team to go down.
Anyway, he says thanks.

Pedant alert! It’s champing - chafing sounds painful!
Hah! Sorry, yes. Could I get away with blaming auto correct? I would be lying if so.

There's no chance we win as we can't score more than 1 and we aren't keeping a clean sheet. 2 or 3-1 Bristol.
I don’t think we have the players capable of beating Bristol. Hoping for a point but I reckon it’ll be another pasting and another nail in the coffin.
Its been obvious for some time, we cant play deep, we cant go gung ho forward but we are pretty decent at flooding from halfway to our 18 yard line and competing there, to break when we can.
I was just saying to a Birmingham supporting friend of mine - if Hudd come for a point they will probably pinch all 3, if they come for a win they will probably get nothing.
I think this is a rare moment for our players, they should be chafing at the bit (grand nat mention there) to go with no pressure. Forget thoughts of a beach, to play the game at this level with no pressure is a great opportunity.
I expect zippy passing and adventure when it is the right moment. Take players on, do things you wouldn't normally try.
I hope LM has the same message - 'show me what you can do'.

Mrs ID still has her old paper licence. She’s never had to change anything on it so it’s never gone back to DVLA. So her passport is pretty much the only photographic ID she has!
All sounds a bit dodgy ID, are you sure she is who she says she is?

It is surprising to hear that a driving licence is ok, mine has such a poorly contrasted and coloured photo of me I can hardly recognise myself. If I was at Security I wouldn't let me through!
The original photo was fine, it was the licence card process that managed to fade it.

There fan's will be thier own worst enemy wear ever they're games are.

When people mention them rotating their pitch, in my mind I imagine it continually rotating the whole game, like a spinning turntable.
Keep the goals fixed where they are, the players have to work out which is the right goal to score in.
Must be good for entertainment value, might get lucky with some own goals.

I would imagine it is to sort any flares on the pitch, hence why he has boots on so he can run onto the pitch easier
Good point, you don't want to see flares on the pitch, not cool.

I'm Spartacus!
(It wasn't me)

It seems I have misunderstood the meaning of 'promotion chasing'
6 yellow cards? The ref will need a new pencil.

I only know one Sunderland fan. He is originally from there but now prefers to work from Bristol.

I don't like the faded, washed out look of any colour. Maybe it sends me a subliminal message of tiredness or worn out or something, sort of a Sunday pub team kit that hasn't changed for 10 seasons. Much prefer a strong tone of almost any colour, sends the right messages to my brain, even luminous colours like Arsenal's stripy away kit.

Wasn't it just to stop displaying controversial messages on the base layer?
A bit harsh when it ends up displaying 'Happy Birthday Grandma' and what happens if they just pull it up a bit?

The penalty

Having read through the comments, I say in summary that the Hudd fans should be complaining about the laws, not the ref who applied them.
As I have said before, I am always more understanding of refs decisions in that live moment than those of VAR who have more time and more views to get it right.
As regards looking at other sports for ideas, I wonder how football would cope with a physio on the pitch whilst the game carries on if he or she was some distance from play?
