I actually completed it in four, which I thought was slightly amusing - forth and all that, assuming it was the same word.

Why might there have been some ructions?

I also completed Quordle to maintain my long successful streak (completed, but not in four), but I cannot for the life of me remember the word.

Because the word is better known as a name? No names allowed I thought. Yesterday was my first failure for about 2 years, not annoyed as such. Now they have removed stats (if no account) it doesn't seem to matter as much.

    Back on track today.

Still think it's dubious to credit the academy with Semenyo, Scott and Pring. All were in it for a short time but they're hardly academy "produced".

I am going to err on the side of positivity here and say that most pro success stories depend on a player moving around a bit to other clubs whether on loan or permanent moves. It is part of how they develop and mature as players and people.

  3. Here's my take having not read the previous pages.

    1. I am normally very fussy about these sort of national identity things.

    2. For some reason, I don't mind this different cross. Maybe because it is not meant to offend, is clearly just artistic licence and the colours do work well.

    3. Is it another case of the media freaking out based on some fans views rather than what the majority think? Blown out of all proportion? Bigger things to worry about?

People DO want to know if we have 2 months more or as much as 10 months of the little shyte, so I'm going to respectively disagree that it isn't something people are interested in.  As for "getting a scoop", Sunak and his closest advisors will decide and usually get the GCS to draft a release to all media ahead of Sunak's meeting the King to get him to sign state papers formally dissolving Parliament. It's not a "scoop" matter.

I think you are mixing up knowing which way to vote with knowing when they will do it.

Most people will have made up their mind already, but no one has ever mentioned to me about when. It just isn't a topic anyone is talking about, the reason being that we all know it has to happen, there is an end date.

The opposition parties want an election ASAP because they know the economy is picking up after the damage of COVID, Truss, Putin and they know good news is bad for their votes.

Because of any feel good factor lagging behind the economy, it is unlikely that news today of lower than expected inflation will help the Tories much.

Apologies everyone, this is probably on the wrong thread.

Incorrect on #2 - I can't wait to flush the collected turds currently governing this country around the political U-bend.

As for #1, there's a lot more speculation about this on social media than there is in "old media". People love a good conspiracy, even if it makes no sense, which is why I've heard pointless speculation about this down the local boozer. Gossip on social media has driven the media stories.

There was a day long visit to Gloucester by the PM recently. He met about 200 people at various venues, got asked questions all day. There was not one question about the election date, the questions were all about cost of food, energy, lack of local services, the NHS, police resources.... the list goes on.

We all know there is an election this year, the media are obsessed about it so they can claim a scoop. The public won't have long to wait for their chance to vote.

Are the Rovers still looking for a better / bigger stadium? Quite hand for next season's games v Rotherham, Barnsley & Sheff W etc.

If they based themselves in Yorkshire they should at least20240313_193832.thumb.jpg.a0c20a4f4a31154f69becba11ccde29f.jpg improve their knowledge of club names.

The original plans were to install the giant TV screen here

I wonder if it needs some sort of crane to lift it, which can't be used because the roof gets in the way?

Of course, if they had used canvas, they could have just peeled it back temporarily....

  8. One of the top 10 rules of being a good manager - when you win make sure you give all the credit to the players. Tick.

Great bloke, good to see him well again.

I have a few(er) questions about the photo and would appreciate some help understanding.

Why does there seem to be a load of seats missing ?
That's the away section, which means they could actually sell them.

Derby sold out , so why is there a big gap there ?
Pillar bind spot ? Forgot to put the seats in ? I need to know

Well, gaps are obviously their speciality. The 2nd one, I assume is a missing mini bus load somewhere from Derby. The 1st one has been explained as where the 'big' screen was before. Will it return? Will the pillars block it? There were rumours that the construction isn't quite to plan so they might have the screen in big Dave's garage but it doesn't fit anymore?

  10. Tough night for the stewards at that end. If you are going to spend 90 minutes with your back to the game you at least want to keep busy looking out for trouble in a packed crowd. One of them has got about 3 fans and a lot of concrete to look at. No excuse for not getting Wordle done.

I don't want VAR , but would be happy for retrospective action for things as bad as that.

Bizarre wasn't it? No one queried it live, at full speed. Not the players, officials, commentators or fans close behind the goal.

Now the game is over, Kipre must be punished.

  12. As I think I said in the match thread I wasn't that impressed with Ipswich. We matched them for most of the game, we both had deflected goals, the difference was they took one more chance than we did. I would have loved to have seen how it would have panned out if Wells had finished his chance.

Anyway, not sure they have what it takes to get auto prom. Leeds have looked a much better team to me. Let's face it, those of us with Sky have had plenty of chance to see Leeds play this season!

  13. I do sometimes wonder how, in the middle of the day in the middle of a city, a fire can take hold like that. Not suggesting anything untoward at all, just that most buildings have a fire alarm and signs of smoke would have been noticed.

Anyway, as long as everyone is safe, that's what matters.
