  1. We are not better and have not taken the steps forward that we all expected us to take.
  2. I think it shows that the City of Bristol and indeed the whole region is crying out for success. We've seen it with attendences at AG for he men's team and the rugby, England ladies, England u21s etc etc etc. It is a huge shame that Lansdown decided not to invest. He'll probably now spend years 'investing' to try and get back in the WSL. I just hope the ship hasn't sailed and that we are able to get back there shortly.
  3. I will be mortified if in this instance they issue a ban. Any such ban in these circumstances would not look good and would be open to a legal challenge so I hope they do the right thing and offer this father support so that they can attend safely in the future. Whilst the club do some fantastic things off of the pitch and if you contact them on a 1-1 basis they can be really helpful, but by and large it is shocking that in 2024 we do so little to support our neurodiverse fanbase to attend matches. I do accept that maybe the funding isn't there etc but if we truly want to be the community club we try to portray ourselves to be then we really must do better for all. Caring costs nothing.
  4. But it was ok for the likes of Coventry to not have a 10 year lease. Not even sure Coventry have that now tbh. Think it's only 4 years now.
  5. Personally I would absolutely love for there to be a seating section that is for neurodiverse people and their carers. Somewhere that is accessible, safe and secure with a quiet room attached. With a policy of zero tolerance of bad behaviour from the carers. The club have done a fantastic with the facilities for the less abled. Now it needs to do more for those with less visible disabilities. This while situation would have been avoided if we had the facilities I've mentioned above. Other clubs do it. So we should too. Ashton Gate should be an inclusive stadium for all and it hurts me that it currently isn't. This thread has really hurt my heart that this father was in this position. As soon as I saw the father run on the pitch I knew this wasn't a typical pitch invasion.
  6. I kinda felt at the time it was something like this. But as a father of an autistic child myself thats why I had those thoughts as these things are a daily challange. We as a society must get better at not judging things unless we know the full story.
  7. Me and my son are men's season ticket holders. We only went along today because he asked me too because he supports Man City. We had some great banter between us ad he was cheering on Man City and I was cheering on us. You can't do that at a men's game. That was his first women's game. So what if he only wanted to go because we were playing Man City. Better than being out on the streets creating trouble. Don't know why you're letting this bother you. It has zero impact on your life. I actually found it refreshing seeing so many boys being really excited about watching a women's game. That is huge progress.
  8. That was my first women's game in over 20 years. The last time being when England played at the memorial. Really enjoyed it. It was just a totally different atmosphere to the men's game. Basically no idiots shouting swearwords every 2 seconds. It was really refreshing and something the men's game needs to learn from.
  9. I just don't know why Lanadown didn't invest. Sure I get sustainability and all that. But if the WSL does takes off like it may well do, then you really do want to be part of it when it does.
  10. My son wants to go today so gonna go down there.
  11. Nah wasn't me mate. I drank 20 pints of gold so wouldn't have made it that far, I then drove home* *sarcasm
  12. It's slightly concerning that your obsession stretches as far as keeping tabs on my travel arrangements. We missed our mega bus so drove to London. Took us ages to find a petrol station open at 6am in the morning. Eventually got to London and parked up. Elizabeth line was then suspended so back in the car we got and drove to another station for a different line. We then headed to the o2 arena where I had a breakfast followed by some beers. Another line then got suspended so we had to uber it to the tax payer funded stadium which once hosted the Olympics. We arrived just in time for kick off so had no time for pre match beers. We then watched Bristol City play in the former Olympic stadium and had a fantastic time with 9000 other Bristol City fans. At half time I had another beer which looking back at my bank account I wasn't charged for. After the game we walked around the former Olympic stadium and had beers with the West Ham fans in the home bars outside the stadium. After that we then went to the shopping centre which we had to wait ages for the gates to open. Spoke to many West Ham fans whilst waiting too. We then went into the shopping centre and we had Popeyes. Following that we then went to Wendys for some burger and fries. We then got the lizzie line all the way back to where the car was parked and my friend drove home. Fantastic day that will live long in the memory which then set up a replay at Ashton Gate which we then won.
  13. Is having beers with West Ham fans illegal?
  14. Good win today and an enjoyable day at Ashton Gate. @JBFC II
  15. Why would another forum member accuse another forum member of commiting a criminal offence? How bizarre.
  16. Mate stop lying. Can't engage with someone who is telling outright lies. What ever you're trying to portray, it's not a good look for yourself. I raise legitimate concerns and I expect high performance. Nothing wrong with that. I do post positive things when it's warranted, you just ignore that as it doesn't suit what you're trying to do.
  17. Of course Blackburn was a midweek home game where as Sunderland was a Saturday 3pm game which I watched a live stream of. My narrative is that I do not think Manning is the right fit for this club. I don't hide away from that. And there is nothing wrong with me having those views. Just like there is nothing wrong with someone thinking he is the right fit for us. I did write positive things after Blackburn. I did write positive things after other wins. I was leading the play off charge after the Southampton win so let's not try and create a false narrative here. Yes there has some been some good moments but overall we have under achieved this season and I'm perfectly entitled to call that out. As I've said many times, it's perfectly possible to be happy with a 5 nil win but still be unhappy with the overall bigger picture.
  18. You can't reason with these people mate. They consider genuine concern about how the club is run as an 'agenda' Apparently we all have to tow the line on a forum and must only post positive things. These people are incapable of any sort of critical thinking. Ultimately we have at the very most, stagnated this season. We all expected progression this season and I don't think there is any Bristol City fan that can genuinely say we have progressed this season. Ultimately that falls upon those who run the club but also Manning must take responsibility for that too because we have not progressed under him. 6 games unbeaten is great, but it happened at a time where it is meaningless. No one wants to talk about the bad runs, when it actually mattered, because that doesn't suit their narrative. If people rate Manning, fair play. You won't see me trolling them because of their support of Manning. Yet some people just can't help themselves because I don't rate him and I don't think he is the guy to take us forward. But apparently I'm not allowed to have those opinions.
  19. Gavin Marshall did say that we are looking to not have too many more season ticket holders than we currently have.
  20. I firmly believe we would have not have done any worse than we have done under Curtis and Jason.
  21. But we're all supposed to be happy and forget about these things because we've gone 6 unbeaten and are doing as well as we did last season. I know I'm an outspoken poster, but I don't let results blind my views. Ultimately for each and every one of us, Bristol City and how it is run should be the number 1 concern and its been run very very badly. What really hurts my stomach is that we try and portray ourselves as a caring community club but actually we are not. There are some really good people that work within the club don't get me wrong. But the reality is it is very cut throat at bcfc and very clicky.
  22. Just think its very crass for anyone to support someone losing their job because of health issues. No one is saying to the Lansdowns get out of our club because of health issues and if that situation happened I'd call that out too.
  23. "Where I do have some sympathy with the Lansdowns is Nige's health. A current as yet undiagnosed neurological condition that is basically making Nige immobile would have to be a consideration if you are thinking about giving him a longer contract. It sounds quite concerning to me. Football is a ruthless business and, where possible, you do need everyone firing at 100%. Nige seems unbothered by it, which is a great mentality to have, but I think we have to accept it must be at least a point of consideration for the owners going forward" Your comments about Nigels health is why you are on my ignore list.
