  1. Would have been more suited to the Bournemouth job I'd have thought.
  2. For what we lose out in, I think we gain from his distribution. When you add in the financial part of it too then it's a no brainer for me. Especially with the club being excited about Bajic.
  3. His name is perfect for the tune of Dolly Partons 'Jolene'
  4. Just watched the Spurs game. How Spurs didn't get at least one penalty, I don't know.
  5. I think for some clubs this will be their last home game before remembrance Sunday so some paid their respects yesterday. We have a home game the day before so without doubt we'll pay ours then.
  6. The important bit missing here is that we don't get to hear the conversations between VAR and the ref. Remember, VAR can only get involved if the ref has made a clear and obvious error. VAR and the ref are in constant communication. The ref will explain what he's seen and his interpretation of it etc. VAR will then decide if he's made a clear and obvious error. We've all been saying this since the start but managers should have X amount of challenges, that clears all of this up. I'd not be against a VAR+ for these challenges. So when a manager makes a challenge, it goes to a different VAR ref who's not involved in that game.
  7. I'd try and get Bentley out of the door during the window. Save a few £s on his wages. He's not needed.
  8. But let's not forget that a couple of their goals shouldn't have been goals. They seem to have a habit of this.
  9. Nige spoke previously about getting points from games we should lose. Today was one of those games. I'm quite content with that.
  10. At least two of their goals were not goals. The refs are shocking in this league.
  11. They all do. Their only ambition is to be above us. That's it. Their obsession with us has imo, held them back as a football club.
  12. Treated quite poorly? He admitted in that interview that he lacks fitness and lacks the confidence to get forward, probably because of fitness. You can see why he may not be considered for selection if by 70 mins he's blowing out of his arse every game.
  13. I hate this argument about the family area. It's a lazy argument to make. Why should a child have to sit up in the gods in the family area? Just because some grown up man can't restrain himself in front of a child? Do they have a disabled section up there? Cos this happened in the disabled section. Maybe this child has vision problems so therefore can't go to the family section. Who knows. This has obviously gone beyond what could be considered normal, hence the complaint. Yes something can be done about this behaviour, hence the warning being issued. No the best bet is for fans to learn to control themselves when in the presence of children, just like I hope they do in every day life. Ashton Gate should be a friendly welcoming place in every part of the ground for all ages, especially our you g reds, they are our future. If we lose them young, we won't get them back. Without them our club doesn't have a future.
  14. How come we could have afforded him but not a CB?
  15. The OP has tried to frame this as he's been told off for swearing at football and we all do it but he's been singled out for it. The reality is for someone to have made a complaint, this must go far beyond what is considered to be normal swearing at a football stadium. This is the point a lot of people are making. If this person was doing this in S82, probably not even an issue. However they are doing it in the disabled section which is one of those places where you'd watch your language like you would in the family enclosure.
  16. There is a huge difference between a kid saying it in a playground to a grown up man swearing excessively. Put yourself in the child's shoes. Maybe even a child that's had some negative life experiences. And your sat near a grown up man shouting swear words for the entire game, beyond what one may be considered to be normal at a football game. Do you not think the child may consider that to be quite aggressive? And rather scary? Especially in an area where vulnerable people are present? Thats pretty lazy to say people should just go to the family section. They have just as much right to sit wherever they like as you do. Everyone accepts there are swear words at football. But there is a line and it seems this person has crossed that line and caused upset, hence the complaint.
  17. @Mr Popodopolous When Norwood did that horror challenge on Williams, I don't think any of our players really reacted to it. However when Tanner did his challenge, look how all the Sheffield players acted? It's them things we need to start doing.
  18. This might be a bad example but I'll give it a go. Imagine at school there is a child that always misbehaves. They may get punished for some of the serious things but a lot of the time things go unpunished. You then have a child that always displays good behaviour. They are nice, kind and polite. But one day they do something that the misbehaving child gets away with, but they get punished for it. Despite it being the same rules for both. I think that's what we are, the nice well behaving child. So when we do step out of line, we therefore get punished more.
  19. By changing perceptions? From the outside, we are considered a nice club. Where as Sheffield Utd have a bit of a reputation. When they do something a bit naughty it's "well its Sheffield Utd, that's what they do" where as when we do it it's "oh you're Bristol City, you're not supposed to do this" That's the only thing I can think of.
  20. I remember Lee Johnson once saying something about the Wolves bench I think it might have been. How each and every single person on that bench jumped up at every decision and he bemoaned that we don't do that. We are too nice, that's our culture. I think that probably comes from the fact SL is really nice and wants his clubs to win the right way, because his clubs are a reflection on him. I think the nice direction comes from SL. I think Nige may have to have a very difficult conversation with him that in order for us to succeed, we need to add these dark arts to our game. No one likes it, but if you don't do it, you lose. I've never really seen a season like this in the Championship, pretty much most games I've seen us play and other Championship games on TV, the shithousery is like I've never seen before. I don't know if that's because the league is so poor or what. Burnley aside, it seems the shithousery teams are doing pretty well.
  21. 90% of people that break the speed limit probably don't get caught. Doesn't make it right. Respectfully it appears that your language and behaviour has gone beyond what one would consider to be appropriate, hence why this person has made a complaint. Are you not ever so slightly embarrassed by the fact you've upset someone so much that they've gone to the effort to put a complaint in?
  22. Wonder if we have any clauses about getting a payment upon making England debut? I'd rather he go than Maguire. Maguire has done nothing of late to be in the squad.
  23. No I answered your point. But to clarify, as its a disabled section then people need to be more mindful of their language and behaviour imo because of the effect it may have on the vulnerable users of those areas. I'd suggest that is pretty common sense. Not sure what point you are trying to make on your last point?
  24. Not sure I'm really comfortable with this question as it seems pretty obvious to me. I'm not best qualified to answer this but there are obviously lots of different disabilities. It's not just wheelchair users that use these areas. They are disabled sections, not wheelchair sections. Remember not every disability is visible. There are some disabilities where someone swearing constantly could cause that person a lot of distress because it may come across as aggressive. 25. The problem isn't VAR. The problem is with how it's used and so far in the PL I think it's been used incorrectly and not efficiently. Do you think TMO impacts upon the refs in rugby?
