  1. What public transport? As other have said, this splits Bristol in two. Travelling between North and South Bristol on public transport is very time consuming.
  2. I remember when Bridge Valley Road was closed for an extended period. The Portway was free flowing however lots of rat runs were created throughout Clifton and I can see the same happening with this. The A369 is going to become a nightmare. It already has its issues at times.
  3. Personally I feel as if there should be something in place about clubs and their stadiums. Maybe not to the extreme of thr Chelsea Pitch Owners but some sort of protection needs to be brought in. I think that is one of the greatest threats to football clubs. For example look at the mess Coventry are in. They were supposed to sell Highfield Rd to help fund the new arena and would have been given a 50% share. Instead their owners used the money from the sell to try to fund premier survival. That backfired and they were relegated and then had to pay 1.2 million a year rent. Eventually they refused to pay that and moved out of Cov twice and went into admin. This season they had all them games called off because of the pitch and now the future of the arena is in doubt now that Wasps have gone bust. Coventry can't afford to build a new stadium of their own so now they are at the mercy of whoever purchases the arena. Had there of been something to prevent their former owners selling off Highfield Rd then all of this would have been avoided. There needs to be legal protections put into place.
  4. If for example someone has a vehicle that isn't exempt and they have to travel into the zone quite a lot and therefore having to pay the charge then the ironic thing is that them being charged makes it even more unlikely that they will be able to switch their vehicle to a more environmentally friendly vehicle. This is a tax on the poor, by a Labour Council. I've no doubt that we'd all love to drive a Tesla, but for many that is very unrealistic.
  5. I do wonder what impact this is going to have on our attendances. I remember seeing a graphic of where our STHs live once and we are pretty spread out. Lots will have to travel through the zone to get to Ashton Gate. The residents exemption ends in March so those who live in the zone would have to pay the charge to visit Ashton Gate I believe? It will be almost impossible for most away fans to avoid the zone. Ashton Gate is an all your round venue these days so it's clearly going to have some impact upon the buisness. Including the Portway in the zone is ridiculous.
  6. I'm not sure. It did get mentioned in AG LTD 2019 accounts I think it was. I think he's been heavily involved, his Linkedin says - Currently lead Director on the feasibility, delivery and conceptual design for a +£300m development to include a 5000 capacity area, 300 room hotel, retail, and F&B outlets. Interestingly he was also involved in the development of Lansdowns golf resort in Guernsey. He's also a director of the Flyers.
  7. I argued that we should have sold in the summer as for the remainder of his contract, he was at peak value in the summer. OK maybe the interest wasn't quite there with the injury. Most people just wanted to see him stay at all costs. He's not signing a new contract. Not in a million years. We need to cash in. The way I see it is if we get let's say 2 million less for him in January than we would in the summer then we've essentially spent 2 million on keeping him for a few months and for me, I don't think that's worth it.
  8. I'm certainly not one who tows the party line yet I find Ian incredibly hard to listen to. I used to switch off RB when he came on and only sometimes listen to this. I feel Ian would be better off if he just had his own Pod where he can waffle away to himself.
  9. There are a few certain personalities that whilst they are no doubt passionate supporters, they seem to crave attention and they come out with ridiculous things to get that attention. Quite why they get given these platforms to feed their egos is beyond me. I can't even listen to that podcast with Ian on. I don't know who the main guy is but he's really good but having Ian on there makes it unlistenable.
  10. Whilst they sit under the CEO I think that decision comes from the top rather than a CEO. If SL wants to go for that sort of structure then the required skillsets of a CEO is different.
  11. I'd hate for Kelly to get it. I think he does a fantastic job at what he does and his job is far from finished as we move on to the next phase of development at Ashton Gate. His skillset is very much needed for that to get it all built and then operational.
  12. I think we need to take this opportunity to restructure. Having one person do all of the work is a outdated concept. Most clubs now operate with DoF, Head of Recruitment etc. Trying to find someone that has the skillset to cover all of those roles is pretty impossible. It always did worry me that Gould didn't really have the experience in the football world. Didn't have the connections etc. He did a very good job at steadying the ship but I think he did lack those things. But we have no money to spend so it was kinda irrelevant right now. Mark Ashton was a lousy CEO. However he was pretty good at negotiations and had the contacts etc. We need a less dodgy version of MA to be head of recruitment and then a director of football who ties all the roles together.
  13. Goal keepers wasting time really annoys me. Simple save yet they all throw themselves to the floor and then roll around and then take ages to get up. 30 or 40 seconds the ball can be in their hands. We need to go back to the 8 seconds or whatever it was.
  14. We all focus on the defending from corners but the fact is if you concede a high amount of corners then the chances from conceding from them are much higher. So the real issue is we have to work on conceding less corners.
  15. I don't know his reasoning but I tend to think if they are not going to do anything about parachute payments then every club that doesn't recieve parachute payments should be allowed to spend up to the parachute payment figure.
  16. I've always felt as if he was a bit too nice for the cut throat world of football. He's done well to steady the ship and for that I thank him. However I'm looking forward to getting someone else in who is a bit more familiar with the cut throat world of football.
  17. And Pearson himself has even admitted that might be his legacy. Personally I'd like to see Pearson move upstairs at some point.
  18. For me I would have got rid in the summer of we could have. Pearson has made comments about HNM not signing a contract and not deserving a place in the team over others that have committed their futures but for me Semenyo is in the same boat. 6 months +12 months left on his contract, he's got no intention of signing a new deal. As his contract winds down then so does his value. We're his home town club that have invested a lot into him in terms of development and recovering from injuries and he's essentially costing us money so imo unless he's willing to sign a new deal then he is a bench warmer. For a while now I've got the feeling that Semenyo cares more about playing for Ghana than he does us.
  19. I think Semenyo is getting to the point where he fears an injury that would put him out of the world Cup.
  20. We need to move away from picking an unchanged side just because we've won.
  21. This Reading commentator is horrendous. Quite unprofessional and an embarrassment to his profession.
  22. "Are they gonna be fighting for a top 6 spot of scraping around in the relegation zone? Either can happen"
