  1. How do you move on when the likes of Jon and Tinnion are still running the club badly?
  2. This gibbo person always posts extremely positive stuff about our ownership. We would all like to move on from last season. But ultimately when the new season starts were still going to be owned by the same people and still have the likes of Jon and Tinnion effectively running the footballing operations. Those people caused a lot of damage in the fanbase last season, so it's not as easy as saying "new season, fresh start"
  3. But the unfortunate thing is that this is now going to be booted into the long grass as it won't be an immediate priority for Labour.
  4. Unpopular thought, Manning favours a control, cautious, try not to lose type of football rather than front foot attacking football.
  5. Potentially we could try and get James back if Williams were to not sign a new contract. If we are to believe the club then we have a plan for all eventualities so let's wait and see.
  6. Yes. In every managerial appointment there will always be winners and losers. Mehmeti for example benefited from the managerial change. Tommy unfortunately does not suit what Manning wants from a striker. To be fair to Tommy he has worked hard to do what Manning has asked him to do. He didn't join up with the training camp so he could have that time on the grass here with Manning. Why our head coach tried to change the way Tommy plays I do not know. Tommy can't score if he's not given the chances. Even with the addition of Twine in our team, things didn't improve much for Tommy. Under Manning I don't think Tommy could have done anymore than he has done to earn a place at the Euros. Scotland may not qualify for another tournament in Tommys career. This could have been his only chance to play at a major tournament and due to all of the above he's missed out. Considering Tommy is incredibly driven I suspect he's gonna be quite annoyed to have missed out as I believe he thinks he is good enough to have gone. If Tommy is here next season, it's not because he's signed a new contract, because in my opinion he wont. It will be because he will be seeing his contract out.
  7. Gordon is 41 and only played 7 matches since 2022.
  8. Do you know the 1st thing Pep Guardiola will be doing once this season finishes after winning a historic 4 premier leagues in a row and potentially 2 doubles in a row? He'll be immediately trying to find ways to do even better next season. I use this example because your question is typical of the culture within the club, which is very much along the lines of things are now better than it once was so people should be happy with that and then constantly focusing on that. Some things are now better, yea cool, well done for that. Time to move on now and strive to do even better and have the hunger to push us forward.
  9. Have you considered that people calling out how the club is run, is supporting the club? Because they want the best for the club? Sitting there and just clapping hands isn't the only way to support a football club!
  10. Chelsea still spent 400 million this season which blows apart the theory that spending money = success.
  11. Yes. I have no problem with Tinnion using his own platform to say "Sit tight, discussions with Joe are still ongoing" or indeed even replying to a more appropriate tweet. I encourage that sort of engagement. But to seek out and engage with a comment which speaks about faeces is not something a technical director should be doing.
  12. Proof that spending money doesn't = success. Poch spent 400 million in his short time there.
  13. But we don't know if that offer was on similar, increased or reduced terms. Maybe we did really want to keep him and offered him an improved deal but he's decided to move on. Regardless it has become a reoccurring theme over the past 12 months that anyone with any experience has left the club.
  14. The clensing of anyone with any experience at the club is extremely concerning. Iirc Southampton were a stable Premier league club. They then went down a similar route and brought in a load of youngsters and were then relegated.

The crowd there is how BS want us all to act like at Ashton Gate
  16. In an ideal world you'd build houses etc at Ashton Gate in lower Clifton And then build the stadium at AV. But with the deal that was done for the village green I'm not sure that would ever be possible.
  17. Grealish had a fantastic season last season and has been OK this season. I don't think he lost his place for Man City because he has been playing poorly, think its more a case of being kept out of the team by the superb Doku. Grealish has won 3 premier leagues in a row and a treble. Plus he has a good relationship with Foden so based on those things I can see why he is in the squad ahead of Rashford who's just done nothing.

    This is really depressing.
  19. I'd leave Rashford at home tbh. But you just know that Southgate will start him ahead of Foden.
  20. How does the football club having a lease to play at Ashton Gate for 100 odd years impact things? Could a new owner just say "OK I won't buy the stadium as the football club has a lease to play there anyways" ? But then I guess it depends on what the terms of the lease are and I guess Steve could change those terms at any point whilst he still owns the lot.
  21. It's not something I had considered would be a problem but now thinking about it someone would need to buy the stadium which comes with debt and then also invest in upgrading it if that's at all possible.
  22. I think this is also another reason why he has so far commited to a new contract. If he gets on the plane and makes an impact then he's going to have even more interest from clubs. So whilst Manning may want him to make a decision now, if you're Tommy Conway you've got nothing to lose by just seeing what happens.

Its about having the right people. We've had plenty of experienced Premier league or Championship players here before who haven't always had the right attitude. However you need the right people like Matty James. It's not so much about their footballing ability. But it's about what their leadership and experience brings to the team. They help to set the standards daily on the training pitch. When things are not going so well on the pitch they can be that calming influence. Just the way they conduct themselves daily inspires the younger players. King and Weimann were very close to the likes of Tommy and you can see that their experience has been passed down to them. But once again this club has a bizarre obsession with doing things differently and doing it their own way. If Williams goes then our most experienced players will be Dickie, Knight and Vyner*. Is that enough? I'm not sure. *discounting Wells here as I think his time here is coming to an end.
