  1. As Piercy said, this club has an obsession with wanting to achieve success in a 'pure way' Having experienced people in the building isn't considered pure.
  2. I think a big concern of mine, although uncomfortable to talk about, is what happens to us if we are still owned by Steve at the time he passes away. Hopefully he does go on to live for many more years but at the age of 71 it is a concern. I do wonder if Steve reducing his funding and his involvement in the running of the club is partly to prepare us for that time. He has openly spoken about succession planning in interviews before. I'm not sure Jon has the means to fund us himself.
  3. This is it. Last season I renewed being optimistic that the reset was over and that we could and should then push forward. I was optimistic going into the season but it ended up being a very long season where it felt like a chore attending at times. This renewal period is completely different. I have no optimism for next season. I simply renewed to secure seats.
  4. Absolutely fantastic achievement of getting promoted to the premier league with Liam Manning giving so many academy players their debut this season.
  5. I think at the moment we are significantly weaker. King's experience leaving the building is going to be huge. I don't think James is going to stay so that's another big loss. Twine will be a loss too. Then we have question marks over Williams and Conway. Of course we have Bird to come in which excites me but we have to replace all those players and replace them with better and I think that's going to be difficult.
  6. I can only speak for myself but that conveniently timed interview from Gavin Marshall where he said "we don't really want too many more season ticket holders" is ultimately the reason I renewed.
  7. I think the biggest disappointment for me was we went into the season with an air of optimism. And then it's just turned out to be meh with a lot of bumps and some highs along the way.
  8. If this result means nothing then why does Leicester and Norwich mean something? What about all the games we struggled?
  9. Incredible job that Danny Rohl has done at Wednesday.
  10. But more points away from the play offs. Fantastic.
  11. Earlier on in the season the West Brom manager said something along the lines of us being one of the best pressing teams in the division. We then abandoned the press for a big part of the season. Yea we may be 2 or 3 players away from challenging. But so are other teams. Firstly you need to replace the players that are leaving. You then need to bring in 2 or 3 more than you're competitors do and the recruitment needs to be right.
  12. On the radio they said "Ipswich Gown have been promoted to the Premier League and there is only one man that deserves all the credit for it" and I was certain they was going to say Mark Ashton
  13. This isn't our first rodeo on this subject. Not sure why you've quoted me when it's already clear we have different views on this. For the avoidance of doubt if for example next season 68 points secures 6th place and we get 62 points, I'd consider that progression.
  14. Finished last season 10 points off the play offs. Finished this season 11 points off the play offs. Progression
  15. I was going to write this. It is just that, an excuse. It makes zero sense for anyone to suggest we was on the beach but Stoke wasn't.
  16. Bye bye blue noses. Absolutely delighted.
  17. 99.9% of your posts are only the one line.
  18. You've misread it mate. I didn't say he tells us he's leaving. When he does leave in the summer, because he will be, you can go back a watch that interview again to find out why he left.
  19. Just the one line again. Try two next time.
  20. Two of Nigels biggest critics giving his signing and a member of his coaching staff high praise. Well deserved but very bizarre.
  21. Add to the fact he's not signed a contract and has shown nothing to indicate that he will and that his best mate is playing in the premier league earning 50k a week I think it's very safe to say Tommy will be leaving this summer and not signing a new contract. It's just basic common sense mate rather than being negitive. You may not like to hear this but with just 12 months remaining we will be looking to sell.
  22. Gave in and renewed today -1 seat. Moved over to the Dolman. Not ideal seats but it is what it is. Shame that it showed me seats available in the SS and there was some ideal seats. Only reason I renewed was because of the scare stories of the season ticket cap nearly being reached so I wanted to secure seats for the future.
  23. More like your constant inability to decipher what he was saying. I'll make this simple for you. Tommy Conway who only has 12 months less on his contract says he wants to play at the highest possible level.
  24. And briefly tells us at the end why he'll be leaving this summer.
  25. The problem with parachute payments for me is that you kinda need it to go all the way down to the very bottom of the game for it to be fair. Yea you can distribute it better in the Championship but then that just creates a wider gap between the Championship and league one.
