  1. It’s an average Leeds team. They were made to look world class by a dreadful City team set up by a clueless coach. If they were in the prem I’d wager they’d be in the bottom two. Look at how useless they were in front of goal given the amount of chances created. I wouldn’t wait any longer I’d pull the trigger on Manning tonight and give Andy King a go until the end of the season. Or would that just be ‘silly’?!
  2. Silly? Before tonight’s game we were 3rd from bottom of the form table. We were torn apart tonight by an average Leeds team. Where do we go from here Northern Red? I honestly despair with the likes of you. Silly boy.
  3. You’ve just contradicted yourself mate. Manning needs to go after tonight. We have just been battered by a very average Leeds team.
  4. There is no puzzle. Steve Lansdown is in charge and responsible for City, the Bears & the ladies. The others are just bit part players. He alone sets the budgets and is responsible for this shit show.

I’ve said for a long time he’s not good enough at this level although to be fair to him he has improved this season. He has technical flaws in his game still which is costing us a lot of points and physically still looks like a teenager to me.
  6. I’ve said for a while now the Bristol Sport clubs are all in a managed decline. How SL would love the rugby and women’s football to go amateur again!!
  7. Couldn’t agree with you more. The exact same thing happened last time the girls went down. A golden opportunity thrown away yet again! As with the rest of Bristol Sport we know where the blame lies.
  8. So the 4th best supported team in the league are going down with a whimper. Shame.
  9. Always thought the Lansdowns have had a very easy ride tbh. If they were the owners of Man Utd with the same track record there would be mobs of ‘fans’ balaclava clad lighting flares trying to intimidate SL outside his Guernsey home. The extent of the grief they actually get is a few fans on the forum telling them to do one!!
  10. I reckon our Jan window is done. Whatever happened to Tinnion claiming we were always looking 3 windows ahead or some such bollox?! Remember JL said we have a top 6 squad and the wages were maxed out according to Nige. So why all of a sudden are we expecting new players to come in? We have Murphy and our ‘new’ striker will probably be the return on loan of Palmer-Houldon. Watch this space…..
  11. Exactly nothing will ever change under the Lansdowns. Groundhog Day on steroids. If ever a club needed a fresh impetus and investment it is us.
  12. Hate to say it but I think that’s the attacking midfielder position sorted out?!
  13. The Watford result has proved to be another false dawn. Same old, same old City.
  14. Manning for me is like Dean Holden 2.0. Nothing against the guy but he has no pedigree at this level and looks like a glorified P.E teacher to me. Unfortunately I think the job is way too big for him and this is the start of the slide downwards. Cue the hunt for a new manager next year:- ‘’we need an experienced manager to help get us out of relegation trouble’’. Sound familiar?!
  15. Anyone remember Steve Johnson? Terry Cooper paid about £30k for him I think which was a lot for us back in the 80’s. My one memory of him was ballooning the ball over the bar when he was put through at Eastville. We lost 1-0 to a Holloway goal and can’t remember him playing for us again?!
  16. For some reason the media and ex-players seem to love Southgate. The guy was a failure at Middlesbrough seeing them relegated in his final season there. He only got the job because he was already in the England set-up and the FA had to replace Big Sam quickly to avoid further embarrassment. I think he is very negative and has zero tactical nous. We have lost/exited the last 3 tournaments due to him not knowing how to change personnel and/or tactics to win a big game. He looks absolutely clueless but hey ho he’s good with the media and I heard the other day that the FA may be considering a longer contract. Tbh I think big Nige would do a better job with the talent available and I’m being serious!!
  17. Big Nige was obviously sacked for non-footballing reasons, but I also think there’s something else at play here. I have listened with interest to SL’s comments over recent times and I think he believes that since investing in the HPC he has given the head coach/manager all the tools they need for success whilst also subsequently reducing the need for recruitment of players. This was further reflected by NP stating that we couldn’t afford to buy a striker and that we would ‘’grow our own’’. Was that a coincidence, or something he had been told to do? I believe that the same applies for the Bears and the Ladies who have been encouraged to embrace the good team spirit mentality and excellent training facilities to achieve success.
  18. Perfectly put. SL obviously can’t work with people with strong characters who tell him how it is. He likes to surround himself with puppets and sycophants. His son is just his mouthpiece relaying his message (poorly) to the media and fans. I believe they have made a big mistake by detailing the reasons behind NP’s sacking. This should now be used as a yardstick to measure LM’s performance against. Should he fail to live up to their expectations he will have to be shown the door a la NP. All JL had to say was there was a disagreement between the two parties on how they viewed the way forward leading to a mutual parting of the ways.
  19. To be fair those are 2 extreme examples but it’s certainly the case that some great players have been crap managers and vice versa. it just worries me that this guy also has a very unimpressive coaching/managerial career thus far. His success effectively equates to a couple of good months at Oxford.
  20. My sincere apologies for having the audacity to ask you guys a question. I should of course referred to that well know reliable info site before bothering anyone. Anyway just checked as per your suggestion and found out what an impressive playing CV he has. Amongst others he has played for the following:- Long Melford, Leiston, Selfoss and Wroxham. We are truly blessed….
  21. LM said on the local news that he’s been coaching for 18 years, so effectively since he was 20. Did he never play professional football? Got to be honest I’ve never heard of him. It sounds like we have appointed him off of the back of a couple of good months at Oxford. I’m interested to know what the Lansdowns do next if this doesn’t work out. I think we will go down the foreign route followed by a Nigel Pearson type to get us out of trouble.
  22. I look forward to automatic promotion under the expert stewardship of JL. Bloody Nigel Pearson holding us back all those years.
  23. Not sure anymore mate - I love my club but I’ve never known such a dumb, low information, apathetic bunch than our fellow City fans. It always used to wind me up when they said Geordies & Scousers know their football like it was some sort of cliche but my God they are right. Can’t believe after the last few weeks events certain fans believe that a new manager will make the slightest bit of difference.
  24. Bar BS3 I truly love your optimism and some would say naivety. Given the restrictions he was under NP could do no better and I think worked wonders doing what he did. You assume the new manager will be given money in the transfer window and subsequently not quite sure what he will be able to achieve in the pre-season. Cut to the chase pal we all love the club it means a hell of a lot to us but this bollox is not doing us any good. I fully expect us to bring in some failed journey man manager or lower league non-entity next week and we will be in a relegation battle. It would be so much better if you acknowledged the shit show going on down the gate and accepted that nothing will change until the Lansdowns move on.
