How ah an earth can anyone even comment with out knowing how these deals are structured how things are offset or with out seeing the books ? It just brings me to the structure down there it's a shambles imo, why don't they pour some money then into a proper top class recruitment set up. Why not get a proper experienced CEO in who has experience in negotiating player contracts and dealing with other clubs and agents and who brings a network of contacts with him etc behind the scenes it's a shit show so many things need to be right before we are able to consistently coach players into multi million pound assets, I personally am sick to the bottom of my stomach of the lansdowns they haven't got a clue about how to set up and run a successful football operation they have had 20 years and not once got it right.

I agree the club have been ridiculous with the comments they make they have imo put massive pressure on LM and backed there selfs into a corner with the utter dross that comes out of JL and BT mouths.

Debate all we want about fees but our sqaud is nowhere near good enough for top 6 unless we start spending/reinvesting a decent amount of money on quality then we will always remain a bottom half championship club. If the club feel there Is enough head room to do it then brilliant if they feel 5m is value for money then time will tell I don't think anyone in here Is qualifed to say if twine is or isn't he may come in and score 20 goals next season and register 18 assists then people would be saying 5m is a steal everyone mentions this nest egg thing and rightly so well let's now go and dip into that nest egg and back liam manning.

Personally if we do sign him i honestly don't think it will be for 5m I'd imagine thats burnleys starting point in negotiations that can be worked down in lots of different ways we could maybe structure a deal like we did with massengo where burnley get performance related twine bonuses etc

I wish people would stop going on about the past we have cleared so much room for our selves to manoeuvre. W do actually have to build guys if we don't sign quality how do we progress .... anyone would think we're trying to sign a player with no upsale potential he is also the exact type of player we need let's all just enjoy it and hope we actually start to kick on for once on the pitch with some investment going into the playing side.

Who said scott twine will take us to the prem this season I certainly never... we need 3 or 4 twine level of signings and even then we're looking at next season at best so manning has a full pre season with HIS players and I'd be delighted if twine was 1 of those players

Twine when played behind the striker through the moddle is a very talented player he scored 20 goals and got 13 assists from midfield the level below no one puts those numbers up at his age unless they have something about them. He was shoved out wide for both burnley and Hull he isn't a winger he hasn't got the pace he plays in the hole he scores goals and links up play manning could be playing a blinder I'd imagen he will play where knight does and then it will be hickman and Knight in the middle. Plus twine is only 24 it isn't like he's finished his best years are still yet to come
