Really good times mate! I've never done a 10k but reckon I'd struggle to go sub 40. My PB half was 1:31 and always wanted to go sub 1:30.

Good for you keeping it up.

That's a lot of marathons! You must enjoy it.

    Any marathons particularly stand out?

For crowd support, London. For a brilliant race location, NYC. For a destination trip and the fellow runners, Antarctica.

  2. Not been able to do one for a bit, but have run 18 marathons in the past decade, including one on each continent and all 6 majors. Not terribly quick: PBs 1h47 for the half and 3h55 for the full.

Hoping to get back to it in the new year.

I watched Eliud's run this morning: phenomenal stuff, notwithstanding the way it was executed.

Best 10k was 34 minutes, half marathon 1.24 I no longer take part in races due to age meaning I was far off my best and I had little motivation to run as slowly as I was, and was becoming . Still run several times a week but just to maintain a level fitness.

    Great times for both.

I notice on their website that Bury offer half price, £10 instead of £20 tickets to all matches, to all serving military personnel , and all past served military, as well as all serving police, ambulance and fire service personnel. While a very worthy gesture, that must have cost them a packet every season.

Military personnel must have looked at that offer of cheap-priced, poor quality, League 2 football and made the gates-opening on a match-day at Gigg Lane look like the Normandy landings (without the machine gun nests, one hopes)

would have liked to have seen the Dead Kennedys - one of my best gigs was the Cramps (bit after punk really) 1980 at Trinity Hall - about a year after they supported the Police at the Locarno

I was a late band-wagon jumper: saw The Cramps at The Studio in, I think, 1985. One of the scariest looking crowds I ever saw at a gig.

Whitchurch. Either Rush-Back (anyone could be the goalie) or Drop-Back (the goalie could play wherever they wanted but was the goalie nonetheless)

Well. That's how I remember it anyway! Don't forget good old next goal wins too mind!

Somewhat late to this debate, but on the hallowed turf of the Manor Road playing fields, I recall using the same Rush-Back and Drop-Back terms.

From SU forum: the sky pundits and their insincere fickle nonsense at the end "this Bristol City side won't go away". Oh piss off! We've battered them. They've created sod all until we had a man sent off. We've outplayed them, then hit the woodwork 4 times.

Smarmy ******* Lee Johnson Bristol City bastards with sky pundits rimming them. Not Browny and Andrews in the studio. Those insincere commentators. We were the much better side. They've not done owt to deserve to win this. Their substitutions were shite, Djuric is dire, Reid offered nothing and they can all **** off.

    :P:rofl2br:

He has a point, to be fair.

The correct plural of addendum is, in fact, addenda, although, as addendum is recognised as an English word, addendums can also be used.

Anybody on here remember back in school having to decline the latin word for war, bellum?

Bellum, bellum, bellum, belli, bello, bello.

Bella, bella, bella, bellorum, bellis, bellis.

    It still makes me chuckle.

And to think, we used to have to decline mensa (table) as well - Oh Table! (in the vocative form) anybody?

reading this just got "eram eras erat eramus eratis erant" stuck in my head

And happy days reading "Caecilius ist pater", "Cerebus ist canis" etc.
