Well I’d completely agree, but on Twitter (not really on here oddly) I keep reading how much better the football is and how better coached the team looks.

First half yesterday, there were times we looked over coached. Max - CB - other CB regardless of what runs were being made further upfield. Second half, we didn’t look like we had been coached at all, lost all 50/50s kicked away possession every time. So, I guess that averages out at exactly the right amount of coaching 🤣

  2. Thing is, what would you do if you were Lansdown?  Let’s say, for sake of argument, you are £200M ‘in’ to a ‘project’. The ONLY way you are going to get any of that back, is to get promoted to the Premier League, yet to achieve that may require you write another cheque for yet another £30M (which the rules mightn’t let you spend anyway?

not saying this isn’t their own doing, not thinking about the past at all. Just speculating on what they might do NOW.

The real Gap between us and the Gas is huge, 23 years and counting. Good luck beating that slaggies.

Yeah imagine we stay where we are and, say,Bournemouth stayed in the Prem for the next 20 years. We wouldn’t like it, but the truth would be that they were MUCH bigger than us. That is how Rovers are right now. They may be in denial, but they would be embarrassed in the Championship.

  4. Just back from Deepdale. Standard stuff. First half neat organised, only very occasionally threatening, but Preston’s only threat came from our sloppiness. Second half, well, still waiting for us to start playing it. Williams tried, Dickie was steady, nice to see McCrorie at last. Everything else, well, best forgotten. Too many worried about getting injured for Tuesday I think, don’t remember a 50/50 we won second half.

Preston rival our claim to Wallace and Grommet (statues outside market.) Anyone know how this is justified? Not on account of accent, Peter Sallis (born Twickenham) is usually credited with a West Yorkshire accent, not Lancs, and Aardman obvs Bristol. Perhaps one of our celebrated incognito street artists should get up here with some paint and put them in the correct colours (or alternatively, yarn bomb…)

Nick Park was born in Preston. Local TV up here, when talking about Aardman, always reference him as “Preston’s Nick Park’. He went to Sheffield City Polytechnic (now Sheffield Hallam Uni) and local TV there refer to him as Sheffield’s Nick Park.

all of which proves the theory that “success has many fathers, whilst failure is a bastard” 😀

Tallin rely’s on the audio service as above.

He is at the forefront of the utterly crap service it has become.

Gerry the SLO (who is always great when I have needed him)has put this to the club and I think has put advice in the SLO gorum.

But it seems despite supporters paying the club the responsibility is always passed to the half wits running the stream. Which is a complete cop out by the management of the football club

    Ask

@leadman and @Southport Red as a couple who I think lost radio - audio.

It was TV I lost, not audio.

At least that's what it will feel like when Rob A and McCrorie are available.

I think that they will give Manning to play a 3 - 5 - 2 with a more expansive right wing back and Dickie playing on his more natural right side.

Whether there will be further additions is still to be seen, but the rumour mill is in full flow as usual.

If poor Ayman’s rotten luck ever improves, he would also feel like a new signing.

Manning would’ve learned a great deal more about his squad from that game. I anticipate he would agree with many on this forum, who, long before his appointment recognized we are a mid-championship team at best, lacking the quality and depth needed to compete at the top end of the table. Despite the comments from JL, BT and GM when NP was sacked.

In particular, we are lacking creativity in midfield (as many said at the time Scott was sold) and it continues to be a concern as to where the goals are going to come from.

We are a hard-working, spirited and enthusiastic squad, but that is simply not enough to be a top end championship contender.

Manning isn’t  to blame for any of this but has been framed by those who recruited him as an upgrade who will play the City way.

All of which is true. Yet none of it explains why TGH scored a worldie and was MOTM and then has not started a game since.

Jon Lansdown got rid of Pearson because he said the squad wasn’t performing to its potential under his management. Should be top six etc.

For me the most frustrating thing is that we will never know what would have been achieved if Pearson had been supported by the Lansdowns.

Indeed. We had managers who were very poor judges of players given lots of resources, then we get a manager who has a proven record in spotting a player and give him the square root of f’ all to spend and then fire him. Top 6 squad my **se.
