BUT I disagree "the club" is now part of something else so its not the same, we rent the stadium and have no say over its uses or income. We have "top brass" who seem content to stay just where we are and seem frightened to go for the final step up.

A proven high level manager is discarded and not backed with suitible funds to make the jump up, while they prefer to take on a 3rd level manager and build again.

While king pins of previously built teams are sold off and we are left fed with just hope and words of better things to come, they havent yet Steve/Jon

But my main point was that, despite everything, I have a simple choice to make. Continue to support the team or withdraw my support. Do you disagree with that?

  2. So, FWIW, here’s my ‘two-penneth’.

i liked Nige, I wanted him to stay longer.

The way the top brass dumped him was shameful.

JL poured petrol in the fire talking about ‘top 6’ etc.  BUT

The club I support today is the same club I have supported for about 60 years now, I wish nothing but good things for them.

We have a new coaching team and I desperately hope they will bring the team success. All I can do to help that goal is support them. It’s not much, but it is my gift to give, and I will (continue) to give it willingly. COYRs.

  3. Hello. Me is new Brostol Coty fan. My fave player is (insert player name here). I like goals. Football has goals. Ross McCrorie is Scottish. That means he was born in northern England.

The LMA themselves state that there is no standard manager contract “template”.  And I’m probably being pedantic re your use of the word “standard”, when it might be better to say it’s “often” 1 year.  Not that I’m great with words! 👍🏻

Sorry Fevs, don’t understand what you are trying to say 😀

TomF - moderator, if told what to do they'd just be blocked ! Went about his business quietly and would practically shut down free speach if anyone called for their head after first game 🤣

    Announce @TomF!!

I might go for @Major Isewater because he makes me laugh and I haven't had much entertainment at City since I started going in 1967 😄

EDIT: Yeah with @Rudolf Huckeras conditioning coach, he'd give them plenty of exercise arf arf #frontfoot #highpress

What excites me about this is that he obviously sees plenty of potential in this squad to make what is a pretty high risk move for him, ballsy decision when he's plane sailing at Oxford presently.  Get's my vote that

Just for clarity, I don't get the sense that anyone one here blames Liam  If offered the job, he would have to be insane to not accept it.  I'm sure he is a talented coach with plenty of potential and have no doubts he will bust his guts to do the best he can here.

My anger is at the ownership.  Just when most of us felt we had an identity and a real connection to the team, they throw everything up in the air again.  Good pal of mine is a Brum fan, very similar parallels between supporters of BCFC's.

Good luck Liam, we ARE all behind you and want to see you succeed, we just do not like the way your predecessor was removed and many of us cannot shake the feeling that the chairman was not being honest when giving his reasons.

Much like Holden, I won’t blame Manning for taking the job. It was only this time last year he was sacked by MK Dons in League Two! Yet here were are 12 months on willing to pay a six-figure sum to bring him here. I thought we had no cash?!

At MK Dons, he had Twine and Darling sold above his head so he’ll be used to losing his best players and not having them replaced with sufficient (or better) quality, so he should be happy to do the same here all in the name of the owner’s nest egg.

I imagine another attractive tick in the box for the board, or shall I say Tinnion, is he’s happy to put up with interference and deferring on recruitment.

I can’t wait for the press conference when Manning blows smoke up the Lansdowns’ arses, tells us all how we’re a PL club in waiting, and talks about our vast potential. All that without managing a single game at this level and not knowing that he’s walking into a shit show.

JL said this is the best squad he’s ever seen, that we have a top-10 budget, and the top six is the goal. So best of luck, Liam. You will need bucket loads of it.

    Lansdowns out.

I'm sticking £20 on hearing the phrase "Sleeping Giant" sometime soon

  8. All of which makes the double standards more galling.

in Pat Lam, the Bears have one of the most respected coaches in the game. City also have a coach widely respected in the game too…oh, wait a minute.

the Bears also have two England props (although perhaps Sinkler shouldn’t play again for a while). I realise rugby players are cheaper than footballers, but City never get close to that level of quality.

I thought the Lansdown understood the value of experienced and talented coaches with genuine achievements on their CV’s.

Think it's time to move on now the damage has been done woth the last regime, probably better to start fresh

I know you are right. Seeing him interview so well just made me angry all over again. It wasn’t just Nige we lost, but a bunch of really good people.

Strap yourselves in, there's another 5 weeks of constructive and meaningful discussions to be had before appointing Curtis Fleming or Cisse ( whichever is the cheaper option & whoever rocks the boat the least)

I thought Curtis interviewed well after the game yesterday. I would rather he got the job than, say, Nathan Jones for example.

It's what happens when you sell your best players and don'treplacethem. Sound familiar? Plus, sign over-paid Chelsea cast offs. Sound familiar? And lose a Playoff final.

    A toxic mix.

Never mind. One less team to worry about.

That reminds me (not wanting to hijack the thread), but someone pls remind me where Kalas went.
