Villa have actually achieved things, they also have a genuinely large fanbase.
I dislike Villa and a lot of their fans come across as arrogant (in my experience) but at least they can back up their claims. It’s hilarious that so many Gasheads seem to genuinely believe they have a large fanbase despite all the evidence to the contrary.
Bizarre.
For such a large fanbase to not have averaged more than 10,000 since 1976 is insane, were 20,000 gasheads sent to prison that year?

One minute they're outside the relegation places, suddenly they're back in, deja vu!
Happy days.

Probably planning for non league as Waddock did achieve promotion from the conference with Aldershot in 2008.

Robbies Ragass Rovers has a nice ring to it, very apt considering it's supported by arseholes.

Better still....
A chimp could get 82 Ltd promoted from L1 with all that fat controllers money pumping that vanity project up the leagues.
I don’t want anyone connected with that band of petty criminals, thugs and ASPD idiots masquerading as a “family club”
Nobody. Not even a steward or a postman calling if I can help it.
Tough stance but a large part of why we are in this mess and D.C. lost his job is because Steve Lansdown deliberately sabotaged us.
So no Cotterill, no to anyone, player, manager or coach who was at that club.
Read more: http://gasheads.org/thread/7920/steve-cotterill-rag-bag-rovers#ixzz5Zi42NhjUWhat bastard planet are these belters on?
If only it were true about SL.
If I had Steve Lansdowns' wealth and was trying to sabotage them there is no way I would let them survive this long after doing the deed, I would have bought them out and had the squatters evicted after refusing to give them any backing.
Once gone I would then rebuild the stadium to have Bristol RFC return to their spiritual home.
As it is having that sort of wealth is a pipe dream so I guess I will have to wait and watch Wally do his worst, well as they say "these thing take their time".

I reckon this might be the post that tips this thread over to page 900.
Not that I care mind.
Surely seeing as it's a subject on the gas and numbers that would be 90,000 with many of said pages locked out!

I have just trawled through Dopey’s Evening Post interview. They do him no favours by quoting him verbatim, but in fairness it’s such a rambling incoherent tirade about, and against, everyone I don’t suppose they had any alternative. Dispite a couple of claims to be offering clarity, to me at least, he delivers the opposite and comes across as a raving self-serving idiot, incapable of holding a single thought, or stringing a couple of simple sentences together. Never mind the results, or the shameless shifting of blame onto everyone else, the bloke is an embarrassment to (even) that club and should be relieved of his duties forthwith if only for the sake of his own metal health.
Not at all, in fact he should be given a nice new contract extension if anything, in my opinion he's doing a fantastic job.

Won't they all just turn up in Carbrini Tracksuits bottoms and Lonsdale slip on's...?
I believe it's so their current resident tramp and legend will feel comfortable in his everyday clothes, having to spruce up after being shoved into freezing sheep dip this time of year can' t be a pleasant experience I would imagine, also if some of his Special Brew oppos want to attend they won't stick out like a sore thumb.
Heard whispers of a new feature film release Irene Does Ilford is also to be premiered that night due to their link up with Babe Station.
Cheese and biscuit were going to be provided but because of on going cut backs within the club it is now advised to bring your own cheese.

I've talked to people here who expressed an interest in acquiring Rovers and it didn't take long to find out they knew all the tricks of the trade. Selling long term season ticket debentures and refinancing assets was the main thrust of their strategy and by doing this they could have got Nick Higgs and co their loans repaid but after that, in reality, it was all down to chance which is why I didn't pursue it.
That is why I've been so dead against the 100% debt finance and no equity method which Dwane Sports have used. When I brought this up last year many fans disagreed and said "how do you know they won't capitalise their loans at some point" but now I think it is clear they will not do so. The purchase of Rovers was an opportunity for someone with access to cash to take advantage of someone who desperately needed cash and, as you say, that is what entrepreneurs do.
I am making no judgement on the nationality of our owners but merely pointing out they have a particular type of business culture just as business people from Japan or Brazil or Sweden would operate in their own specific way. The majority of fans, understandably, tend to have limited experience in these matters and may find it hard to accept that, whatever their nationality, people who are smiling and charming one minute can turn hard and impersonal in an instant. And that every day securities are called in by lenders leading more often than not to shock and horror among those who had convinced themselves it would never happen.
It is hard to decide whether to make posts like this Oldie but I think fans should be aware of what is possible.
So basically we've been taken over by stealthy asset strippers. I did have this concern a while back when they were taking on all this backroom staff as a false sign of intent.
Exactly what I have been telling friends since they took over, they saw an opportunity to make a swift killing with the Sainsburys' sale, that didn't come off but they get the land whatever happens next.

Anyway last word on it from me, but just to say we need a strong Rovers (gulp) and a stronger City. We had 15 minutes of fame last season, and now we are forgotten, Bristol Football = joke.
Do we **** as like!
Quicker they go bust in my eyes the better, some people seem to forget how they tried their damnedest to finish us off in the 80s'!

Dopie is a self obsessed *****, everything is about what he does for the club, what the players don't do right when losing, but his players have done when winning, notice how the prat says his fans!
Can't ever remember one of our managers ever stating how those that come support the club are his fans and not our fans!

Would love that to be true, but more than likely just plain old paranoia.
Now if I had SL's money it wouldn't bother me to buy them out, bleed them dry then kick them out, then restore the land to playing fields for local people, ensuring that no gypsies can access the land, whilst ensuring that there was caveat on the deeds that Nothing bigger than a potting shed could ever be built on said land.
