As an aside I saw him in Nailsea Touts yesterday and didn't realise he was as tall as he is. (I am a short a## though).

I think we made him one of our highest earners to persuade their PotY to join us. I’m pretty sure Jones complained about not being able to compete with us. At a guess I’d expect him to be on between £12-15k per week. If I’m correct, that brings in better than cover.

A point raised in commentary yesterday was Max's save percentage so I did a bit of looking at stat websites today. It seems that, with Max ever-present, we have the best save percentage in the division. Now they may be easier shots than some others, but I'm fine with that if this is part of our defensive unit performing well.

No new sales are allowed. If you're already in the SS, you might get some success if you directly contact Supporter Services as common sense dictates you'd just be moving from one part to another. But do they have common sense?

The number of 15000 mentioned as this seasons figure on the pod and ambition to grow it do feel unlikely for a number of reasons. Ultimately ST holders miss odd games but the volume missing from several recent games does suggest a degree of disillusion.

My guess is we hit around 12-13k sales overall. Down on last year due to several reasons:

- Disillusion and dissatisfaction with club hierarchy (think that’s #1)

- Cost of living crisis remains ongoing and it becomes a necessary or reasonable sacrifice

- Unhappiness with management/style in some quarters 

- The new TV deal (I think that’s a tiny factor - the club haven’t publicised and it won’t be known unless you look)

It’s still a decent number and bigger than our neighbours capacity. Won’t be any joy from me if the number is down but if the hierarchy think the main reason is anything but them then I think they’re probably not reading the room

I also think a small factor to add to your point about the Cost of Living crisis, there may be non-season ticket holders who fancy picking one up but because the club are saving the freed spots in the South Stand for individual matchday sales, are priced out of it.

I wonder if this part is accurate as, in my mind, Joe is our CM most likely to look to play incisive forward passes this season. But he does have the odd game where his passing is atrocious. Fortunately those have been fewer of late imo.

If LM wants to play 2 AMCs then we need more than Mehmeti, Sykes and Stokes as the options because we must never play Knight there, he's too important / better further back.

Of all Manning's games, I think today was actually my favourite despite not winning. I believe Norwich had won something like 8 straight home games and we went there and with different officials might have won that game 2-0. But I was more pleased that after a pretty decent 1st half, we didn't follow it up with a turgid 2nd and actually played better in the second period imo. I feel like the players looked more confident in their touches and passing too which gives me more confidence that Liam could have us on the right path at last.

To explain (all imho), I think there’s been enough from the turn in performances since Easter to think we aren’t gonna revert to the turgid stuff that for me was more the norm than the Southampton / FA Cup games / performances.

There are still some concerns, but if we carry on with the bit more intent shown, taking opportunities to win the ball high-up for example then I think Leicester, Blackburn and today are more representative of how we will play than Sunderland on reflection.  I think playing Knight deeper is more the causation than Twine which is correlation.  I felt Knight did an admirable job playing the role he did, but he’s much more effective for the team playing from a deeper role.

So, I’m out of “sack Manning” territory.

I feel like Mehmeti has potentially shown enough promise there to make Twine too expensive (as if he wasn't already) and we may do well to look at bringing in another project to develop into that role (alongside Stokes) as you could view the initial Mehmeti signing.

Aside from his goal I think having someone as comfortable on the ball as Roberts as one of the 3 CBs (along with Dickie) stops this system being as negative as some variants are.

I don't know a great deal about L2 but I found it surprising that only 1 player from the champions features in their team.

So Robins TV will remain an option for those who are more able to take a quick flight to the continent than travel to AG. Or those who already live abroad.
