Man City fans are gonna be furious when they find out the replacement is gonna be Sean Dyche.

We don't have any strategic advantages over other clubs at this level (eg larger budgets or exceptional recruitment strategy) to allow a run-of-the-mill Championship manager to succeed here so all the managers linked with us so far fill me with apathy. The appointment of Pearson's replacement needs to bring that X-Factor if we are going to stand a chance of achieving the Lansdowns' stated goal of promotion, so that means scouring the globe for a manager with as yet un-heralded tactics or coaching methods and backing ourselves to make that call. Someone like a Will Still before he took Reims to 5th in Ligue 1 or a DeZerbi clone. Without that (or increased budget or overhauled recruitment department), we have a ceiling of mediocrity.

The only way Roy Keane gets appointed by SL is if he thinks Jon needs toughening up. Roy would chin Jon on day 1!

Maybe also change the statements to: * Tinnion DOESN'T want an opinionated manager with his own views on how the football operations moves forward. But * Tinnion DOES want a puppet head coach who will implement Tinnion's own ideas You know, the kind of ideas that worked so well in Tinnion's own managerial career.

Loan signings aren't free. If there's no budget for free transfers, there's no budget for loans right?
-
No chance of relegation with this squad. Even with just 11 fit first team players we should have been thrashing the likes of Cardiff and Ipswich, that's what Jon reckons. At least if we're in L1 Steve may reduce the ridiculous £200m asking price.

Cardiff City away match thread
Ian M replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
I heard the other day that the combined wage of the playing squad is the lowest since we were last in League 1. To avoid the squad being relegated automatically we had to go with a smaller squad and of course that coincides with the largest injury crisis we’ve known in the last decade. To be fair, that isn’t really a surprise as we cannot manage the workload of the players on a matchday. Would not be surprised to see the injuries get worse before they get better. -
Ipswich Town home match thread

Won't happen. By the time we get 3 or 4 back, another 1 or 2 will get injured due to us not being able to manage their workload during games. -
He didn't look that pissed off so I presume he picked up a knock of some sort.

I just went to check, I voted “yes” so am elevating myself to the title Superfan. First move, new contract for Nige please Edit: on further inspection, I surreptitiously voted yes during the double winning campaign, shame on me, I should go to the Mem! Edit2: Fair play to all those who voted “no” when promotion was secured

He didn't score on Saturday but his one-man pressing cameo was very important for us in not allowing Coventry to build back some momentum.

Nigel Is In A Good Place! - Ipswich Pre-Match Interview

Saves going back and editing the article when they sack him -
So, if we can just adjust our mindset to match JL's (that having reduced the wage budget by a third, amortisation by three quarters plus operated a transfer profit of around £25m, we have actually under-performed) we can believe that Nige has been a terrible manager and his successor doesn't have to live by that rule.

Then made a big thing about him being well liked but more importantly having integrity, implying others don’t necessarily? -
As a recently relegated Prem club they get trampoline payments so literally play by different rules to us.
-
The decimation the team faced through half the side being required for tomorrow’s 1st team squad will have had an even larger impact.

I believe Ipswich will not be one of the games SL intends to attend.

Brightened your mood. For 98% of us it hasn’t so you cannot claim the definite article.

What is everyone's manager choice if/when Nige leaves?
Ian M replied to MrRedRobin's topic in Football Chat
I’d happily take someone with zero football knowledge if they admitted as much and employed, as CEO, someone who did. It was a flying visit though. The good news is that is highly unlikely, SL felt hugely let down by LJ. -

I’d definitely try and get Nigel Pearson, he’d be freshly available. -
Of course noone from the board is available to talk to the BBC.
-
Make sure you’re clear when doing so that it’s due to his mis-management of the football club in particular, not the baskeball, to be clear to Mark Kelly.
