Without listening to the consistently changing guff that comes out of the club hierarchy, what are the expectations of us, the fans

With that in mind, we're on the right track.  We'll definitely get there, my main frustration with the SL ownership is that it's taking far too long to achieve this.

Why can other smaller, or similar sized clubs overtake us so quickly?  That's the question I can never quite answer.

    You've answered your own question!

    In fairness I recall that.

Do you think they just looked at who were the top 2 head-coaches in Lg1? 🤣🤣🤣

Joking aside Dave I think that's basically what they did.  Who are the young head coaches currently doing well who would consider Bristol City a step up?  That was probably JL's thought process. I doubt they were tracking LM prior to the decision to fire Nigel or anything like that.

It’s pretty simple for me. The owners act as if they are more important than the club.

Very true. I think they truly believe that as well, especially SL.

I have been there once, for a few hours, but only passed through to be honest.

I probably go to Bavaria two or three times a year - we have family in Munich - and, as you say, the food and beer are nice (and copious!).

If you don’t know it, and feel you have an appetite, try a typical Bavarian dish.

    Schweinshaxe. Very nice.

I tried it a few months ago and struggled to finish it.

    Pork Knuckle?

  5. FWIW if you are driving down the Portway from the M5 it's probably quicker to exit at Portbury and come in that way down Rownham Hill past Bemmy cricket club even without the accident/closure. I live north of Bristol and I don't bother exiting the M5 at Avonmouth due to the regular long queues on the Portway and use the route above.

The P & R will use the Shirehampton Rd I expect and then Stoke Hill, Downs, past where the zoo was and down Bridge Valley.

    Hope everyone gets there ok.

After the collapse of the Fruit Market stadium, Rovers have announced exciting new plans for the Dried Fruit Arena.

They're just waiting for the developer to provide some dates for construction.

Yes, this is their currant new stadium plan.

Personally I don't give a fig where they go.

I must get around to flying with VPN Airways. Never used a VPN and not sure what it entails. Do you guys use a free service or pay? Anything you’d particularly recommend?

I would never use a VPN but a " friend" uses windscribe ( as recommended by our own Davfevs) , simple to download, there's a free version which allows you to stream about 4 games a month if you don't start until just before ko and log off at FT. The pay version is from memory about £50-£60 per year and is unlimited.

Once you have downloaded windscribe an icon will appear on your desktop/ or phone...you can load it on both ......open the app, turn it on and set the location to anywhere outside of the UK eg Frankfurt., then sign in to Bristol Sport and RTV and the game will be available to buy.  The game appears on RTV about 30 mins before ko, click on the screen not the white play arrow and it should start playing.

There are problems with the hosting software

Last I heard was that it was going to need paying for the new software

As to how much that is, I haven't heard

Thanks for the update, as you know CH usually asks for a contribution once a year from the regular posters to help with the site costs which we're all more than happy to do. I'm sure everyone will chip in again if and when it's necessary, it will be a shame if it dies.

    @CodeRed

I can assure you that we're not all in there and slagging you off having changed your password! :P

That was my first thought 😄

Cider Head has been clear for a while that he was finding running it a struggle given what else he had on (I don't know precisely what that was and it wouldn't be fair to discuss it).

@phantom may know or be able to revive it, I'm not assuming that he will take it on.

Thanks EH for letting me know

The guy behind me in the Lansdown reckons that Pring will go in the last few hours of the window for £7m. Hopefully he’s talking bollocks but it’s worrying that he’s been right before on players leaving City

Do you sit just in front of the Director's box ?
