  1.   I haven't watched them in full, I did watch a bit of the first one to see what they were about and he talked quite well as he does without really saying anything of any substance, just basic advice that anyone would know like - do your research and make sure you prepare for any manager job you're applying for - he does like to name drop though, we learn Kenny Dalgleish rates Lee highly and recommended him for the Oldham job. Brian Marwood is a big fan of him too. Mentioned Lansdown a few times so maybe he thinks there's a route back in 🥶

  2. Lincoln going for the play offs with a great run, 10 unbeaten since New Year's Day and won their last 3 games  5-1, 6-0, 5-0.

I hope Pompey come up, proper club, proper ground, proper fans. I don't like Derby ( who does!) but along with Bolton they're too big for L1.

No point in Peterborough coming up, they'll only struggle, sack Darren Ferguson, go down, reappoint Darren Ferguson and come back up. And repeat.

Only way he goes is if we get smashed to bits in a few home games and it gets super toxic but still I can't see them making a change.

Well that's what happened when Mclnnes was sacked, during an abysmal 0-4 performance at home against - coincidentally - Leicester the AG crowd turned on the Lansdowns with loads of derogatory chanting against the 'board', and loads of insults being aimed at them for not taking action, they were of course more exposed then at the front of the Williams and some long standing (and long suffering) fans in the Lower Williams were giving them both barrels.

McInnes was gone by 6 o'clock.

So - Lansdown Season Ticket holders , you know what to do!

It’s not just the amount of money we spend, it’s the value for money we get.

If we had spent £200k on a striker who scored 25+ goals a season, the amount we spent wouldn’t matter.

Problem is we seem to have our pants pulled down paying over the odds for bang average players.

Exactly, compare the £1M spent on Mehmeti with the £900k Swansea  spent on Joel Piroe - a player they fished out of PSV Eindhoven's reserve team, and the £1M Coventry spent on Gyokeres who was initially in Brighton's u21's before Cov got him on loan prior to perm signing.  Brighton having found him in a Swedish second division side who's named I can't pronounce let alone write! and paid around 1M euros.

Both moved on for big profits.

BT has said he's directing Gillespie & co to find a striker abroad but I doubt we have the network or contacts to get such value as the examples above.

I'm beginning to think we only gave him the job because he looks a bit like Eddie Howe.

That probably was a factor 😄 - SL said to Jon "you need to appoint a manager like Eddie Howe" and Jon took it literally ☹️

That’s almost certainly what the hierarchy are thinking - assuming that Manning will access to a decent war chest with which to strengthen the squad.

He's not up to the job, he certainly doesn't warrant a " war chest" .

I've seen us play under every manager since Fred Ford and he's comfortably the worst by far, on every metric..........tactics, style of play, in game management, communication, signings, connection with the fans, and his absolving himself of any responsibility whatsoever for the total shitshow we are witnessing.

    He needs to go.Now.

Not even Danny Wilson himself knew why he was sacked. Got a dismissal phone call whilst on holiday telling him that his services were no longer required.

At the time SL said in interview that he phoned Danny to inform him of some budget cuts for the next season, one of which was dispensing with the services of the sports psychologist that Danny was using and SL thought unnecessary , DW disagreed and in SL's words " I decided I couldn't work with him anymore and sacked him"

I was struck by the phrase ' I decided ' because back then we still had a board but SL unilaterally made the decision and saw no reason to involve or discuss it with other board members.

It's always been Steve's way or the highway.

I don't really know what people expect him to say... Maybe it's just better for everyone if LM doesn't do interviews until he gets us back to a respectable form or when he's relieved from the job.

If only, it's painful to listen.

Do you believe you should get a refund if you are uk based and shouldn’t actually be watching ?

But the club are happy to take your money  even though they obviously know most people are in the UK and using VPN's. It's an income stream they're happy to accept.

    So yes they should refund.

Allegedly SC will receive £20k for every game he's been in charge if he keeps them up.

I'm sure he's not doing it for the money, he comes over as relishing the challenge and wanting to use his knowledge to help them and the young players and I think he wants to work with good people.

He will have earned the money if he keeps them up though, they were absolutely gone when Deeney left.

I was going to go Saturday , but it appears because of the amount of football I've watched this year I could end up being single. :dunno:

I'll try in a week or two. 🤣

Is that good or bad?  😀

Yeah if we play like we normally do I’d like to watch it drunk 🥺🥺😅😅

Yeah, my late brother in law always maintained that you can't watch Bristol City sober, you have to anaesthetize yourself to the inevitable upcoming pain.

At the time Oxford were 2nd (now 7th), he was also unlucky to not get MK Dons promoted.

His CV was okay, you can't judge just on personality.

OK ? He had less EFL management experience than LJ when he was appointed and MK were bottom of the league when he was sacked.

I was going to say he's learning on the job but he's not actually even doing that.

LM potentially isn't the right man for the job.

BT isn't the right man for the job, as he hired Manning. He shouldn't be allowed to hire Mannings replacement.

    Both are the problem.

Exactly, shows what a f uckwit BT is to think Manning could lead this club, 2 minutes listening to him drone on and I'd be 'thanks we'll be in touch and watch the door doesn't bang your ass on the way out'

So now we go get in an experienced manager who will demand his own team and his own way of doing things.

Obviously not Nigel, that would be too embarrassing for the owners, but someone of similar experience.

Or we get in another "yes man" who will involve us in an annual relegation battle during their tenure before departing for Sunderland.

Maybe it is time to ditch the wishful thinking and trying to copy the clubs who have passed by us on their way to the Premiership and start doing what actually works.

If you have to have an inexperienced coach in then they need an experienced DoF to guide them, or you just get in a very experienced manager.

Every managerial appointment this century has been a hopeful gamble with IMO two exceptions: Gary Johnson and Nigel Pearson.

And of the hopeful gambles only Cotts was actually successful.

The problem is that we pivot between these two types as every appointment is a knee jerk opposite reaction against the previous manager/coach

The 3 you name all had several promotions on CV's, if you want promotion - hire someone who's done it.

I've never known a leader who focuses only on theory, concepts and soundbites who has been successful.

What LM lacks is charisma, gravitas and authority and he can't be 'helped' with those.

All the great managers and coaches possess those qualities to motivate and drive the squad.

Exactly, we've all seen and heard enough to know he's not up to the job at this level. He can't change, and he won't change becomes he thinks his processes are right and he thinks it's all the players fault. Manning and Hogg think and act as one.  It's now a case of when and not if he goes, I expect we'll pick up the odd win and limp through to the end of the season because crayon boy hasn't got the bollox to do anything other than keep his head down and stay out of the way.

The whole cycle will start again round about October when the Lansdowns will have no choice but to sack him and then we will see their ineptitude take centre stage again as they dither around wondering what to do next. They will of course appoint an experienced man ( they always do after the rookie fails ) who will begin doing what needs to be done but will themselves be fired when they tell SL what's needed and he doesn't like it and shoots the messenger. Again

    And on it goes...

6 points in 5 home games and one win away in 6 sees us through. If that’s too much for us then I don’t know what to say. Let’s say Manning replicates his huge haul of 9 points in 11

The problem for me is our form and confidence is getting worse by the game so I'm not even confident of him replicating that dismal number of points.

It would be so Bristol City to self inflict relegation on ourselves from a  comfortable position by virtue of yet another poor decision by the Lansdowns.
