  1. I would say they will almost definitely be the opposite. Normal life by 21st June. Wouldn't surprise me if sooner based on the data seen so far - even Scotland and Wales are going to announce lifting of restrictions sooner than expected due to it. Time to get back to having a life again.
  2. I wouldn’t say it’s that bad a defeat - some perspective needed I think. No one in the world has won a test series in India since 2012 when a really really good England side did 2–1. A much better side than this one. I expected us to lose 4-0 - we lost 3-1. There are definitely some good things from these last few games like Lawrence. And actually, if England had a decent spinner like a Swann etc then I think it would have been close - Leach is ok but having an ok spinner won’t win you a series out there. India are the best side in the world at test level with a real strength in depth too so to lose to them away isn’t that bad. You also have to consider that most players have been in that bubble for a long time now which isn’t great. Also Jimmy continues to be great even despite being about 65. There were however a number of bad points. Selection questionable for the last 3 tests. Still real issues with openers - there has been since Strauss and Cook departed. Pope, I do think he will come good but seriously needs to improve against spin. Bess - not good enough sadly. Some of the shots played batting wise were obviously very poor in this test but again the quality of bowlers faced is a factor. I’m still not 100% sure on Root as a captain but obviously they won’t be changing anytime soon. And not sure who out of Butler and Foulkes to go with - Buttler probably? But basically if England had a WC spinner and good openers then I don’t think we would be far off that no1 spot. Also for Oz we need an injury free Archer and I wonder if that is possible. His batting is a joke at test level so if he isn’t firing at 90mph then he’s no good. Anyway looking forward to this summer when we can actually watch it live...got tickets for SL Bristol ODI, Pakistan test at Trent Bridge and then India test at Oval.
  3. Yeh no chance now - they might not even have to bat again.
  4. He's OK but India have world class spinners and that is the difference.
  5. If England had a good spinner they'd be on top here. Bess looks so out of his depth.
  6. Well hopefully not after that session!
  7. Nice early wicket - a lot more now please.
  8. At least Lawrence and to a certain extent Pope, who was unlucky, have looked better. Openers still a problem as I've come to expect us to be 20-2 every match at moment. Obviously anything under 300-350 is under par here so another defeat likely.
  9. Well that 119 short of what I think was needed...
  10. He only seems of use with the bat in T20. Just horrible stuff.
  11. What’s quickest time a test has ended in?
  12. Looked like that was missing but Stokes and Root didn't look interested at all.
  13. Definitely - he wasn't even sure whether to review it which says he knows he didn't hit it first. However it was very hard to tell on the replay so I can see how they got the decision wrong.
  14. Pad bat pad for me but very tough to know.
  15. Looks out...great parnership though!
  16. A balance is the best thing to do I guess but yeh he does have to attack a fair bit.
  17. FFS Stokes - you cant hit every ball out of the park on this.
  18. Why is he trying to hit that out the ground?
