  1. Bentley is brilliant at 1 on 1s. A good shot stopper from close range. Seems a bit poorer from long range weirdly.

Problem is the rest of his game. Kicking and mainly commanding his area. Doesn’t give the defence any confidence and with the joke defensive line up yesterday it’s made even worse.

Id say he’s pretty average at this level because of the set pieces etc. would rather a Maenpaa type keeper right now.

  2. That was as bad as it gets.

Every corner or set piece we looked like conceding. First half we were just hitting long balls to the front two which was a complete waste of time. Offered zero going forward.

2nd half we had 5 minutes of pressure but apart from that we looked like conceding a lot! Could have been 5-0 today. Few notes on some player…

Bentley - some good saves but also can’t command his box and 2nd gol was a joke.

    King - dreadful.
Vyner - many aimless long balls.

Atkinson - Like Weimann, gone off boil.

Sykes - bottled quite a few challenges.

Massengo - think we could do with offloading asap. Offers nothing.

Weimann - looked off pace for weeks.

Kadji - out of his depth.

    Pring - actually looked ok!

Nige is a proper manager - remind me where GJ is managing these days…………..:dunno:

And where is Danny Wilson managing?

    Here are the facts:

DW failed to get city promoted in many attempts despite a huge budget and talented squad.

GJ not only got city promoted in his first full season but then got us one game from the Prem.

  4. Naismith is fast becoming a liability as he can’t identify when he can bring it out and when he can’t. Sadly Vyner we know isn’t good enough for this league. Atkinson who has been the most consistent this season looked well off the pace…injured or unfit maybe. All the above added up to a first half disaster where we could have let in 5.

Two years ago is ‘different times’ ?!

Of course. In 2018 we scored loads from set pieces - didn’t do anything like that in next tournament. Things change from year to year quickly.

We also had Maguire in form and now we don’t which has really unsettled the defence. Game turned yesterday when we stopped playing so defensively and turned to attack. Hopefully Southgate will learn but I doubt it.

Yes, but the point is those "teams of equal standard" are performing similarly to us. Our results/performances in pointless end of/mid-season friendlies is the same as France, Spain, Germany etc. So why are some people losing their shit and calling for the manager's head?

Yeah, I mean that approach at the Euros was bloody disastrous wasn't it, Alex? First major final in 55 years, and we were a post width away from winning it. Here's hoping we don't adopt similarly successful tactics, eh? Of course, we can adapt our style of play, but throwing the baby out of the bathwater seems a little extreme after some pre-tournament friendlies.

Different tournament - different times. Won’t work now - we’ve just seen that over last x games.

This is exactly what happened with the Bournemouth tickets for reference to my previous comments I took the morning off work and was online at 9:50 am ready to buy. I will not be putting myself through that rage again good luck to those that try.

I will not be taking time off work for an online ticket lottery rather get paid now if I could go down and que at the ground before 10am where the people in said que could only buy 3 tickets and leave and I know no funny business is occurring I’d be happy to do this

Took the morning off work ?
