Interesting point that. I wonder if that perception you have is because we seemed to concede more chances/shots when Bents was in goal because his command of his area was poor.

Max is much better at that and as a result it feels that he isn't called into shot-saving action as often

I'd imagine this is backed up by the stats. Also, we have only lost 4 games in our last 18, so it appears we might be as good as, if not a better team with Max in goal.

Statistically we've been much better defensively this year too, versus last with Bents in goal.

We have yet I’d argue neither is good enough to make us a top 6 team although I slightly prefer max to db

Are we really calling Swansea and Cardiff goals as keeper errors?

Cullen’s goal for Swansea was just a consequence of the shot being taken just as he’s adjusting his feet.

Philogene’s goal was a well struck shot from outside the box into the near post.

Can’t save everything!  A goal doesn’t always have to be a mistake / classed as an error.

I would - especially the first at Swansea. Don’t think he should be beaten at his near post at Cardiff but that wasn’t exactly terrible.

When an outfield players messes up they’ll often get away with with help of their teammates but that’s rarely the case when a keeper messes up,. Their mistakes are highlighted much more,

    Yes really good analysis there

Does he? Sure he was dodgy for the second goal today but I’m struggling to remember another error. He and one of our defenders had a communication problem in one game last season which led to conceding but that was half a dozen of one and 6 of the other.

I’m very comfortable with Max as no1 but as others have said he needs competition and no doubt that another keeper is on Nige’s shopping list this summer.

He made one at Swansea just the other week.

No team in top 6 would take him.

If there is a chance we could relegate them we will sell out a thousand no problem!

Not all the 1k will buy though regardless of the qpr situation. Would be great to send them down though

Absolutely no chance! Our average away following is 900-1000 so no way 1,000 have been to 5 plus.

it will not sell out Monday I can ensure you that!

It won’t sell out Monday but it will be close to that number.

Agreed, although we got tanked at Molinuex - though that atmosphere wasn’t much better!

Next home game is OT so we’ll see if it’s much different, I’m hoping to go as never been up there

Molineux was a joke. They even played the wolves anthem before the game - very poor form.

Mexican wave should be banned. And that torch shite.

I guess the atmosphere was always going to be like that v Ukraine. Not a team you would get fired up playing against at the moment because of the obvious. It had the feeling of a friendly about it.

I hope we don't get complacent with the next few games. Italy could beat us at home again, didn't North Macedonia beat them in the WC qualifiers?

Yes we should be fine but when games don't go to plan A that is when Southgate just struggles a bit. Such a strong squad, some top quality players and he has them working well together.

If we could top the group early he could give more time to the likes if Gallagher and Toney to build experience rather than the odd 10 minutes here and there.

We are pretty much done as top two go to euros. We’ve won 2 of the 4 tough games and looked very comfortable today. We will qualify.

I thought Max slipped under his recent standards today, his distribution in particular took a step back. We need to see what Nikita Haikin can offer before the end of this season really, so I think the opportunity is there to give him a couple of games.

Yep wouldn’t be against that. Sadly we have little options elsewhere as fair few others I’d like to rest/drop too.

Don't get me wrong...I'm a big Vyner fan. Always have been, even through the spells when it felt like there were about three of us! But he can pass better than he did today - and some of them were just giving it away. His pass success stats alway get distorted by those cross field passes that all our back 4 make, but - a couple of long cross field ones aside - he just didn't do it going forward for me today.

Seems others agree eh AA BCFC
