I hope he has a good tournament and gets some confidence back. Started the season brilliantly , I was surprised how good and how comfortable he looked stepping up a level. The last few months he's looked a shadow of that player, not sure why. Hopefully just the call up will give him a boost.

What tournament is he playing in?

He is good at getting into crusading positions but final ball is terrible. Not the best defensively either. Jury is out.

Dare I say wishful thinking. 2wins and just 11 goals in the last 13 games with 10 points from the last 39 would suggest otherwise. What do you think will change to improve Pearsons win ratio?

Well given when we had everyone fit we were doing well and Pearson has a good track record - plenty to suggest we will be ok. As I said, we have been pretty unlucky lately and carry on playing like we have that will turn.

Oh well if we’re in the bottom 3 at the turn of the year let’s all just shrug our shoulders and believe that Pearson is the best we can hope for.

That isn’t what I said. He isn’t immune from criticism. In fact I was annoyed at his team selection on Tuesday and he should have taken the blame for it. But we have to be realistic at the same time currently. Gone are the days when we could spend  money and improve the situation that way. Whoever comes in will have exactly the same challenges and problems Pearson faces with a paper thin squad and no money to spend. I don’t believe there is someone out there who, on our budget, we can attract who will magically make the situation better.

Actually I think Pearson is playing quite a tough role of laying down foundations with the playing of many youth players.

Relegation is clearly unacceptable for us but I back us to be ok based on his record to date and the way the team have played in many games lately.

Not sure if is just me, but I can understand each decision not being given (since last penalty).  I can't remember us having a stonewall penalty and today neither looked like pens to me.  The south sand seemed to appeal for one at the Atyeo end, but fans closer didn't appeal at all

Not every decision surely. Been a fair few obvious ones in there.

  5. He’s not done as well as hoped given the amount of money he’s put in. But I don’t see a load of people rushing in to take over and he’s ever said he’d consider offers etc. No one has ever come forward. Reason for that is it’s just spunking money up the wall generally. We are fortunate we have someone who can keep us going given what has happened to other clubs.

  6. It’s a tougher group than a lot are thinking. And if england play like they have lately it’ll be tough to get out of. That first game is a must win I think. USA we always find hard to beat and then wales gave us a tough game in 2016. Have to hope we find the sort of form we had for knockout stages at euro.

On the squad - I’m not sure why Connor Gallagher goes but at least Maddison is. Wilson is a gamble.
